I, on the other hand, brought 150,000 because my apartment was empty. my apartment rent was cheaper and did not have to pay the key money but i had to buy everything. :(
I think average wage is somewhat around or up to 1.8-2K in western major currencies And average expenditures are somewhat 1.4-1.5K for single person (it depends on needs)

I at first bought bottled water because I was unsure if tap was safe to drink. After having met local friends and learned that they drink from tap, I 've switched to tap right away. I however needed to buy the water faucet filter. :)

Depends on where you will be assigned to work. Some BOEs will require you to drive even if you dont want to and will not allow you to drive even if you wish to.
Hello, I brought around 4,000 cad or around 150,000 php. I dont think I spent everything during thr first month but I highly encourage you to bring around 150k just in case you need to pay for KEY MONEY, advance apartment rental fee and food to get by during your first month. :)

Hello! :) I am almost sure that the answer is NO.. When I went on a vacay in the Phils, I thought of applying from there since I stayed there for 3 mos. When I emailed JET, they told me I need to apply from the country of my citizenship (which is Cnada) so I had to wait until I'm back in Cad. :(
No, you will receive your first utility bill after 2-3 weeks. What you're going to pay for when you arrive is your car rental fee (that is if you're going to rent one), your first month's apartment rent, key money and... I think that's about it :)
Hello. I think JET will not allow it. I was told that you can only apply for the JET in your country of citizenship. So Filipinos should apply in the Phils. I thought of that too when I was on vacation in the Phils. :(

JET Programme hires people from 57 countries. JET stands for Japan EXCHANGE and Teaching (programme). never about being a native speaker. In my province, 54 people applied, 3 got in including me and I am not a native speaker. :D

I had seen in many vdo tht the sal is 336000/-yen for first year ,but you mentioned it 280000/- is it reduced this year?
No, I just divided the 3,336,000 by 12 mos so I get 280,000 per month. :)
