Another great video! Thanks so much for sharing and I’m looking forward to your last episode. It is super cool that you both were able to ride together on this adventure. I’ve commented on other episodes that it brought back a lot of memories from my trip there in August 2020.

Thank you Brad. I remember some of your other comments. I think we conversed about the Mama Moose and her baby. Glad you are enjoying the videos and it brings back memories for you.

Good stuff. A melancholy return, but memories that will last a life time.
I know it’s tough to chose the right music and determine the right amount of narration. I think you’ve done well on both. Both compliment the video footage and your journey very well.
    A couple questions.
    1. If a person was to ride only part of the way up to the Yukon or Alaska before turning back, what area or place would be a good point to do so?
    2. What did you budget for accommodations, and what did they actually cost?
    Thanks.

Each episode is so interesting with your narration, site information and informative commentary. You've lowered the "bar of trepidation" in tackling an Alaska road trip.

What month and day did you enter Alaska and when did u leave ? Trying to get an idea as to the weather you encountered. I'm planning on being there August and first 2 weeks of September. Enjoyed your adventure, thanks for sharing

I rode in Alaska from August 17-25, 2020. Started in Anchorage, rode north/northeast to McCarthy, down to Valdez, then back through Anchorage into the Kenai Peninsula to Homer. Weather was pretty good with lows in the 40s & 50s and highs in the 60s to mid 70s. But be prepared for any weather. Be sure to have plenty of layers, multiples pairs & weights of gloves, waterproof gear and always pack some snacks and water with you. Some tools, patch & plug kit, & an air compressor are also good. We were lucky and had no mechanicals. Oh and bear spray too. We camped 1 night along a river with bears in the area. Never saw one though!

Hello Rad D. Our trip was from the beginning of June through the middle of July. We had amazing weather for the trip but as Brad Adams mentioned we were prepared for any kind of weather as well. We’ll have some more tips and reflections in the next episode. Thanks for watching.

Dying to know how you laid it all out - did you leave much wiggle room for unexpected things? What about the expense - will you give some ideas of how to plan for that? Great videos though - you deserve an award ! 🎉

I just planned the route before we left using Google maps. We were able to stick the the route most of the time. We didn't book lodging in advance so the only timeline we had was the ferry reservation at the end. We did not budget for the trip and it cost way more than we thought it would due to high lodging costs.-Larry

what was the bar code on your phone for at the border? I'm planning on riding from the states to Alaska and back this july. Thank you.

It was the ArriveCAN App. Was mandatory when we crossed. Now looks to be optional. www.canada.ca/en/border-services-agency/services/arrivecan.html

    Joy, no gloves....

Hello Dana. Those clips without gloves were all short sections when we were leaving a motel and headed to the gas station close by. I didn’t want to mess with putting the gloves on, taking them off and putting them back on to get gas. For some reason, those were a lot of the clips Larry picked for this video. I don’t usually ride without gloves and definitely not far.
