I've always thought that the humpback whale was the largest animal in the world until I found out that the blue whale is the largest animal ever. Wow, it's huge. If I see one up close, I'm gonna be totally amazed. The blue whale is so interesting, just like any other whale in the ocean.

Those side flippers are 12 feet long and its tail from tip to tip is 25 feet in length, to kind of give you a perspective of this wonderful animals size!

What's crazy is that it's a mammal that evolved from Pakicetus (a dog looking thing) only fifteen million years ago too; such a dramatic transformation in such a short time is in the evolutionary scheme of things absurd, It's almost recognizable from its closest ancestor. So it's basically it's a giant dog hippo.

The biggest Megalodon species (Megalodon yanceyi) measured 39.5x31.5mm (1.5x1.2in)
But if you're talking about the shark (Carcharocles megalodon), it's larger estimates are arround 18m (59ft) long
Blue whales are between 28 and 30m (91.8-98.4ft) long and weight up to 173 metric tonnes (190 short tons)

So, short by 40 or so feet, and also, my professor is currently writing a paper that suggests our ancient shark pal had no swim bladder, which is why most fossils are found in what would have been shallow seas. So, if he turned out to be correct, it would mean the blue whale could've knocked out a Megalodon (if they existed at the same time) with a single swat of the tail and Megalodon would've sank.
