M7md AlS exactly. Unlike the peregrine falcon and many other diving birds, we aren't naturally built to free fall or dive so it wouldn't count for humans. Even if it did, we'd not be as fast as the golden eagle or peregrine falcon.

Forgot to mention that there's more than one way to measure speed. You can also use bodylengths per second. This is where larger animals fall behind and insects excel. Using this method, the fastest animal would be the Tiger Beetle at well over 115 bps.

We would need all kinds of gear to dive (face protection etc. Plus we can't fly up to dive in the first place. The Peregrin Falcon can dive whenever it wants to.
