@@brockryan3405 Yeah, I found myself thinking the same thing. Sometimes it looks like there are recoveries they go BIG on just to be showy and have a blast with big toys. I mean, not that there's anything wrong with that ???
Awesome countryside for rescue work. Appreciate that you owned the damage caused by the track catching up in the wheel well and will help the owner fix it.
Thanks. This area reminds me highly of the area in Norway where I was born, a big forest area called "Nordmarka", starting with the famous hill jump arena Holmenkollen in Oslo, the capitol of Norway, and streches hundreds of miles to the north with ski trails in high hills and mountains covered with old spruce forests, with deep snow during the winter times. I love this sort of terrain. Best wishes from Arne in Norway
What you need to add to that snow cat is a compact boom, able to lift up to 5 tons for those tough jobs. It would be a great way to reduce the damage on recoveries.

Sometimes I have to go back and watch a section again, either to enjoy the shot, or because the scenery distracted me from the recovery activity. Hats off to both you and Matt for doing all you can do to ensure safety and taking care of all the equipment used for every recovery mission. Wow. That place is GORGEOUS. I thought for sure this recovery was one of Heavy D's vehicles when I saw the tracks. I'm sure Heavy D was like "hey - bring that thing down to the shop and let us build you some legit tracks that will never break." LOL
First and foremost love the channel and all the content. 20 yr plus Cat operator. I have some advice..... same advice I've given to a lot of guys. "Always roll out, never pull out!". Take out the cut or curl rather than pulling blade up. Avoids leaving whoops or giant snow pules and disappates snow evenly. Try it you'll like it 😁
About those tracks flipping over, @CaseyLaDelle used a set of American Track Tucks "Dominator" model very successfully. He talked about the track flipping problem and pointed out his setup that wasn't a concern. Because the Dominator model is longer and his Jeep wasn't lifted up so high that there'd even be room for the track to flip. So maybe that was the trouble with this pickup? It just had too much lift, created lots of room for the track to flip? @CaseyLaDelle did also mention there was a anti-flip add-on he could buy but again, he didn't need it.
Casey dumped that jeep and those tracks. Has bigger and better designed tracks on his Ram service truck now. I think they are all terrain also, instead of snow only. Good new videos, watched last week. (edit to add third sentence)

You guys ever think of making a solid draw bar for towing in situations like these? That what we use on our snowmobile groomers to pull the drags. It keeps it following you much better than a chain or rope. I’m guessing you would have to engineer a “universal” mount for the vehicle to be towed but something like that might keep the following vehicle from running off track and going into ditches/etc.

I'm new to your channel. I'm a 62 yr old grandma who drove a truck for 34 years...24 of which I hauled livestock. Mostly rodeo stock and yes, I did it by my little old self. Calm down guys... don't have a stroke on me now. I know you guys don't think we can or should be able to do those kinds of things but some of us, not a lot I'll admit, but some can. I know or have seen bunches of gals that shouldn't be allowed to operate roller skates much less a big rig. I pulled a flat bed after that and had to quit when I got hurt. Not on or because of my truck. I literally got run over by a drunk driver while I was crossing a crosswalk. Everything was broken from my waist down and 3 broken ribs, punctured lung, left arm and shoulder broken. It's taken me years to recover to where I can walk, just not very far, or very fast, but I can walk. I miss doing the things I used to do. I was in excellent condition/shape before I got hurt. I was strong. Used to hunt and fish and go out on the boat. One of my uncles had a shrimp boat and me and my son used to go out with him for a week. I'd take the time off to do things like that with my kids. Watching your channel in a way makes me sad cause for one I don't have the money to do a lot anymore and the other thing is I don't have the strength to do a lot. I love the channel because everything you do is balls to the wall. You enjoy what you do and you care about the people you do it with. I loved trucking and was pretty darn good at it. I'm probably never gonna meet you or be able to go out on the water with you or out in the snow anywhere with y'all but I sure wish I could. That would be wonderful and it's pretty much the only thing on or in that bucket except for rock crawling with Matt.
Having worked in northern Utah winters, my hands hurt just watching this video; but the machine is a MONSTER. Great fun to watch, even if I wanted another blanket. Say what you want about Utah, but its GORGEOUS.

That machine is amazing! Just curious, you should be able to leave the transmission in park as long as the t case is in neutral…maybe something changed on the new ones?
@heavydsparks have you thought about fabbing a sled type trailer for the snowcat. In this case a winch mounted to the sled to pull the recovered vehicle up on to. My thoughts is that would make the trip out faster because the vehicle isn't fighting back trying to dig in and would prevent further damage to the vehicle.
I love those Homebrew boots you put on the front tracks of the homeless Dodge. Without those boots you would have worked that groomer to death. Dave and crew did a fabulous job. Reminds me when snowmobiling in the mountains with my Buds and returning to base camp wee hours in the morning because of breakdowns and dig outs. Tired as Hell and ready for a Hockey Pop.
My thoughts are if someone is going to sling crap at you about the damage to the truck, then maybe they should create their own TH-cam channel and do recoveries like this if they think they could do better. You guys do great work and of course you won't leave anyone hanging. Keep up the good work guys!

That is what's great about Dave, no hiding no lies no camera trickery to keep us from seeing the bad, things happen not always good things and Dave shows it all the good and the bad, very honest good people
I appreciate the heads up on that brand of tracks. They are tempting at the price point.
a set of skis for the rear would have been great for this recovery...but all in all it was a pretty good recovery effort...no headaches...
Dave love the new machine love that u put the reputation aside and showed where u messed up on the recover love the video, love from the Chesapeake bay md
Stop, take a breath... is everyone OK? That's all that matters ❤ praise God for this brother, Amen. Love from AZ😊
appreciate the honesty, heavy seems like such a solid dude
American track truck does offer front and rear limiters to prevent this from happening! I have them on my set
That machine is amazing!
Just curious, you should be able to leave the transmission in park as long as the t case is in neutral…maybe something changed on the new ones?
Honesty is always appreciated. We know you are human and accidents happen to you, too. Honesty= integrity
😂😂 I would have been amazed had you actually made it out w/o damaging the frame. Love the transparency!
Love the recovery work videos and the camera shots are awesome
Man being upfront and honest is the only way to be means ya got good character
Awesome snowcat, I grew up skiing and watched those going straight up a mountain grooming , . Cool ❄️❄️
Despite the damage to the bed, this whole video showcases why these guys are the best
Great job man ,you rescued them and I doubt they would have gotten that thing out if you wouldn't have go and got them.
Deisel Dave, I am proud of you again you are out there in your shorts you are a man. Heavy D you are always transparent that's why we love you and your channel. Great all what a rescue.
Wow, Heavy D, with your arsenal of equipment I doubt there's anything anywhere you can't recover. Love how you roll !
Honesty is maturity.Aces David
Awesome recovery. It would be cool if you developed a snow trailer to pull behind the beast for recoveries like this!
I'm certainly glad the snows out ur way and not in Boston. Enjoy it...
Heavy D, you have a great snow pusher. You need a big snow blower/thrower... maybe a few smaller ones... gets the snow out of the way better in some cases. Something to consider.
I Appreciate ya being upfront that ya made a mistake not everyone does that
