Wow - this sounds amazingly analogue! I build my own gear and this is so REAL sounding - i want to try this on guitar, sounds a bit like its close to the classic 'British' EQ bands. Nice, thank you so much Chris! :D

yes, it sounds incredible analog indeed... and different too!

I love this nostalgic character of no 10k. Just a million times easier on the ear (even if its warbled). Cutting the mids like that was awesomely effective at letting some natural bass through too! this on as many background instruments as can have it... might be interesting in a song!

Hey Chris, I got an idea for a (to my knowledge) nonexistent plugin: two sets of inputs, input A receives normal sound. Input B is amplitude-modulated by input A, but, you multiply the modulation with a user-modifiable curve (concave to linear to convex). This way you get to chose how high (or low) input A's sample has to rise before you start to hear input B. Start-and end-values (like hard limits before you start to hear it and after which B doesn't get any louder) could also be made user defineable! The curve could even be asymmetric, giving greater controll. A link parameter could let you modify the curve symmetrically. You could even have it toggle between absolute values and adjustable percentages of the waveform loudness by RMS(input A). This would be such a beast of a sound design weapon!

this could really be killer for fattening up synths tbh. I'm thinking of that video with Sylvia Massy reamping the synth in the room to make it sound more fat. While that was a lot to do with capturing the room sound, there's definitely something interesting that can happen running things through the sometimes quite specific and interesting EQ & Drive that amps have. Unfortunately it can be very difficult to do that and not get a sound that sounds overly washed out or unbalanced, this is a great solution to that!

One change I'd make to this though if add a post filter option for the gain so it sounds more like a traditional analogue overdrive, but that's something you can do anyway.

Checked the BassDrive, seems great, the overdrive sound makes sense, and the EQ is like a vintage modded amp, where the controls can contradict each other a bit, midrange does some phase canceling in certain positions, which gives more versatility in making one's signature sound. I tried with 48k SR, it is usable.
Years ago, I modded a cheap valve guitar amp in a similar way, as it sounded so boring. Then, with the phasey option, I could get interesting guitar sounds that left room for the vocals and for the other guitarist etc...

If you put Drive up to 1.0 and put Low,Mid,High,Presence at 0.0 then you can slowly dial in distortion at specific frequency ranges. Then use Reaper's dry/wet knob to mix it into the original sound

Dear Chris, I'm using the BrassRider, but shows irregular behaviour, plz could you check it out? The dry/wet seems antiphase, and the zero at first was in the middle of the fader, but then also, suddenly it is at ~10% close to the left or minimum position, just out of nowhere, I don't know of any change that would trigger this. So, if you revisit, a normal dry/wet would be great, and an intensity fader, or an output volume fader. Thanks so much for your great work!

God Chris, and you’re like the best emulator (unless you meant you don’t like doing ‘exact copies of name brand items’).
ToTape5 is one of my favorite things ever.
Did I miss any tape delays from you? That’d be awesome.
