@@otterdonnelly9959 I think the only real time to ever trade is the rare times they give out extra store credit on rare pro days. We rarely see it but I remember walking in a few years ago when they did it and got way more store credit towards a few games then. I was shocked lol
I agree 100%. GameStop has been on fire as of late with retro games and I’m upstate NY. Recently took your advice went back and got that copy of Conkers Bad Fur Day thanks to extra copies of trades I had lying around. GameStop for the win!!

They should’ve been selling Pc parts and never stopped with older systems. We have no reason to support GameStop anymore other than pilfering for a few deals. Trade everything to independent stores.
my town has 2 gamestops.. and unfortunately they have no retro games.. in fact they barely keep any of the newer games in stock.. if you dont preorder a new game thats coming out that you want youll be lucky if they have any extras and they never get any extras you have to wait and hope to get lucky that someone brings in theirs to sell.. now, i dont hate gamestop but i hope that maybe with the game companies leaning toward digital that it pushes gamestop in a better direction and they become the place to go for physical games because i prefer physical over digital.
I agree with you Steve! I remember the excitement of the weekends going to GameStop and looking forward to buying two and getting two games free! All they got to do is do what retro gaming stores are doing now! Just bring back and I'm talking about going back as far as Atari! Bring all them classic games back and systems! It keeps us from having to go to the country to these mom and pop video game stores when you walk in everybody looks at you. I think you know what I'm talking about.....lol but go GameStop!

Do the research they are getting rid of more and more benefits. Their return policy does not exist. I’m just saying maybe there’s a difference between the southern ones and the east coast ones. I wouldn’t be surprised if the reason you have such good luck shopping there is because you are in TX and they are headquartered there. It’s been over 3yrs since I have found anything worth buying there or take advantage of any of their sales because they either don’t have any of the games I’m interested in stocked at any of the stores in my area or they’re not available to ship.

I know my employees have had customers who will come in just to berate them or to just be plain terrible to us b/c we r GameStop. I bounce around to all GameStop in within like 70 mile radius cause I’ve been finding some really great ps3 titles. Recently found blitz 2 for $25 and Asura wrath for $25 when on my way to mountains to pick some power puff girl Nike dunks
I like gamestop overall but there are a few locations where the employees really do sour the shopping experience. at differnet places, i've been told things like "yeah we don't really have a lot of retro games, i resell on the side so anything good i just grab myself" "we don't sell any retro games"(only to find out later that that employee was misinformed" "all we have is in the case" and then see them opening up the drawer for others. I've also been told that i'm not allowed to look into the open drawer (that was 2 feet away) to see the retro games and that they have to print lists. I've also been stopped because one gamestop thought i was leaving with said list and they weren't having it. I attribute all this to random fools working there. Overall i do enjoy going to the store. (ordering online and getting returns/refunds is a nightmare though). Currently waiting on returns from october and i have to call every week to escalate. Once the customer service agent told me to just file a dispute with my credit card company **shrug**

I went to my closest game stop, which is an hour and 15 mins away tonight. They dont have many retro games yet. like 4 for each system ps, switch and xbox but they do often have great deals! And I also only buy physical games if they are available.
All the gamestops i went to in my area would only give me a list of the older games that they had. Not one would pull them oit like they do for you and the selection was very very minimal
Bro let’s be honest, we all dislike GameStop bec of the amount of money they would offer us for games. They have no respect for people and just want your money (that’s part of why they lost so much business and why it’s going down hill) they won’t survive without physical games
That’s part of it, but it’s mostly that they offer no value to us other than physical copies. Which now Amazon fulfills! If GameStop did events, exclusive accessories, cool bundles, store location “coolness”, sweepstakes for trips or tours, anything to draw people in. I can’t think of a single reason to go to a GameStop these days.

I'm not a physical copy guy, I prefer a digital copy... But looking at this it looks kinda fun... I still don't want to buy physical games, but I would love to have a manga collection... I wish my Gamestop experiences were like this. I stopped going to the local GS because of all the upsells where you couldn't just browse without hearing a series of sales pitches, and worse, there were almost no games. 2/3 of the floor was Funko pops and gaming merch, but only the back 1/3 had games on display. Merch is fine, but I miss having a chain of game stores where I could actually browse for games and maybe find a deal once in a while. That's all I want.
they started the new games that just came out traded in at only $5 less than full price new. then all of the local video game stores copied them like gamestop is some industry standard or something........they decided to start buying back retro games due to losing money and sales.....gamestop imo is elitist.....just my experiences with them.
@MrWrightWay I made a typo and left out the W. I saw it in the display case you got from gamestop. You are a big wrestling fan, tho so it makes sense that you'd maybe want all wrestling games. That would make a great video/pursuit, by the way, if you haven't already, I can't recall.

Gamestop in OKC is severely under stocked sadly.
Some are on life support as it is. I just go to the local business like Replay Games.

The used games are often only $5 difference from the new as well. If rather just pay full price at that point and have the money go to the developers.
