i swear if i was on a plane with jeff and the pilot and f/o just died out of nowhere i would put all my trust into him and be fully confident that he could get us on the ground safely😂😂😂
Ok so sorry that I’m making u read all this I know it is a joke but the -pilot- middle school nerd here has to say the following: ok so assuming you have found your way into the cockpit and all the pilots are incapacitated, you would then need to squak 7700, tune into frequency 121.500, put on one of the headsets, declare a mayday, shut off the autopilot, follow ATC’s instructions to descend to blah blah blah altitude, turn blah heading blah blah blah, and line up with the runway. After this you will either tune into the ILS or do a visual approach or an auto land (which is unlikely cuz you’re gonna have to play with the FMC for a while) and put the flaps and gear down at the right timing and right flap extension amount, arm the spoilers and set the auto brake to the right amount. Finally do some manual flying for the final minute before touchdown. All this while under the constant fear that today will be your last day of life, and many passengers screaming at you. Keep in mind that this is oversimplified. Like a lot. I only know what is on the surface so ya. Sorry if you read all that lol
@@chesterwang3070 Watching Jeff, he could probably do it. The plane can fly and even land itself if you push the right buttons. Modern airliners have a lot of automation. He knows how to radio and squawking 7700, spoilers, flaps, auto brakes, and even the gear are not essential to your survival. I think he could remember to turn off autopilot and put the gear down. If you can use the radio and push buttons you will be fine. I would trust Jeff.
@@central7417 mhm. The gear is totally non-essential. mhm. Only the most skilled pilots can land a plane without gear, let alone a passenger who flies in Xplane 11. Modern airliners do have a lot of automation, but you gotta program the FMC to do what you want the plane to do. It's more complicated then u think. He can do it fine in the sim because it's all fun and games, but think about it, ur life is freaking on the line in real life. If you fail, chances are you'll not only kill urself but u'll kill everybody on board. And if it was that easy, then why do pilots go through YEARS of training to finally fly an airliner?
@@chesterwang3070 I understand how complicated it is. But people on the ground would give instructions Jeff could follow. And I know the gear thing is silly. It would be impossible to forget with the alarms. But there have been cases where the gear collapsed on landing and everyone was fine. There was no skill involved. If the pilots died and there was not another pilot on the plane, I would trust Jeff the most to get on the ground safely. I'm not saying that it would be a 100% chance that everyone would live but I think they would be fine. You just have to input the things ATC tells you to and the plane will fly and land itself.
Hey great landing but for sum advice pilots that land at msy do not land that way on the runway they come in from the other way on that runway also since the crash in 82 they don’t takeoff from that runaway
As a NOLA area native, I really wish the MSY scenery was updated to the new terminal. I’ve avoided flying here because of that which is a bummer. As for the old terminal, Spirit used to park on the old concourse C. You actually parked on the old concourse D where United used to park, but oh well lol!
I flew down to PR in an A320neo I believe. jetBlue flight and I must say what a trip. Gorgeous plane, comfortable ride down. Every time that I play this game I think of that trip and I am so glad MSFS came with this plane.
Nice video Jeff I really like the Aviation content and all the other content you post. I have been subbed since I join 8 or 9 months ago and you were at 7-800k subs it's amazing to see that you have a millions subscribers. I have gone and watched almost every Fly With Me video and have seen every video you posted when I joined. You were one the the first TH-camrs I subscribed to and have watch your video. You help me get through quarantine and when I went to California I watched your videos in South Padre Island I watched your videos. But again Jeff thank you for help me and the thousands of others that watch your videos get through quarantine.
I’ve had the FLX issue thing too. Found out if you don’t change or adjust your Flex temp in the FMS it won’t go to FLX at takeoff. Next time just throw a new flex temp in and it should work.
I don't think that going from A to B is a problem, but landing on B it is. I feel some ILS approaches are buggy. The A320 sometimes quit following the GPS route or, like the last time I was approaching Cuba, it was approaching on a 40 degree angle to the runway.
7:26 you're overstressing your EGT (engine temperature) due to flying at a high angle of attack. climbing at 20 degrees nose up for a long time would be the critical angle of attack. 7:08 because you climbed at 20 degrees nose up, and your airspeed is excessively slowing down, there is much less air flowing over the wings, called the backside of the power curve. This increases induced drag, due to there not being a straight line down wards for the weight. The flight controls will not have a quick response that it would be used to, the flight controls will feel mushy requiring more input to the controls before any response is felt. Induced drag is when you would have to fly at a high angle of attack in order to maintain an altitude. In order to get out of this, you would have to add an excessive amount of power and a loss of a little altitude (1000 feet)

Awesome content Jeff - happy to see you flying again! Always great to watch while working in the office. I'd love to see you fly out of somewhere more northeast, maybe kBDL or kPVD?
Hi Jeff LOVE THE VIDEO Just a few thing's, on landing DO NOT EVER SWITCH ANY SEC'S OR ELAC'S OFF WHILE ON FLIGHT !!!!EVER!!!. this system is an acronym for (spoiler elevator controls) and are necessary for landing. sec 1 controls your spoiler 3 and 4 on flight as well as ground spoilers. the other thing is that the common landing procedure once the aircrafts reaches the establishes minimums that when u take over the aircraft by pressing the red button on the joystick (just like u did) and also by pressing the instant throttle disengaged that are the red buttons on each side of the throttle lever. and once u are 30 to 20 ft. off the ground set throttles to idle. that's gonna help you with your floating problem. Just giving you some pointer from a A320 neo(New Engine Option) mechanic. keep it up.
