Just bout a 1990 300e last week. Glad to find this build
Very good
I stripped all my wood trim down to the veneer and covered it all with real carbon fiber then 6 coats of ppg clear. Wet sanded and buffed. Looks like glass now. Allot of work but worth it.

Lover your videos. You put emphasis on your videos not being too long, detailed and/or but the videos out there weren’t as good. When you do a 300ce rebuild give us all the details. Thank you for the info. Going to wrap my w124 interior in carbon

Not sure if the carbon match the car tbh.... I'm just a big fan of the wood in w124 models. But it always needs work as it cracks everywhere.
It’s definitely not for everyone, wood has its place for sure, but in this gray interior, the carbon actually fits really nice, now if it was a tan interior, it would not look good
So just to be clear I could pull this off with little to no damage done to the piece itself later in down the line if I pleased?

I have tried some of this vinyl too? but it always starts lifting in the corners and edges after a week or so. In direct sunlight it looses its color very quickly and becomes dull or even grey after a few weeks in sunny weather

Nice job guy, looks more like a Lamborghini or Ferrari now, you should have not sanded the oringinal wood so it can be change back. Alot of MBZ owners love oringinal cars and are carbon fiber haters.
Off topic but i was wondering if you could help me. I have a 99 c43 amg just all of a sudden car won’t start. Checked fuses and all ground’s everything is fine only thing we find on a yellow and pink wire on the back of the ignition switch keeps showing a constant power through it might be a bad ground but we literally checked them all
i can't find mounting video
I saw some black cover held by red tapes behind the door trim when you removed it. Did you or the previous owner install it, or did it come like that from the factory? Because mine doesn't have that for some reason.
Also just curious, what material is it?
That’s just a vapor barrier that most cars have, this one has clear plastic on all the doors, the red tape is not factory, that must have been put on by the previous owner because I’m assuming the original way to hold it was falling apart

Hello, I used some ViVid Wrap, I’d recommend a higher quality film though, this one is not install friendly for a new installer
Thanks, I was thinking of using vivid, I have never wrapped, so now I don't know what would be the best option, I will keep looking, thanks brother.
It’s doable, but for a new person, I definitely would go with something else, the best of the best is 3M products, they can get a little expensive, but they have the best quality and easy to install film

Unfortunately I didn’t get any finished product pictures, but the next time I’m with the owner, I’ll take some pics and include them in my next video

That is not carbon fiber wrap it is sticker wrap...
In the US the word wrap typically means vinyl/sticker, the word overlay is used when you’re talking about the real material being put on top of something
So I'm here for another video of a VW
It’s coming, I promise haha just gotta wrap up this project in the next couple weeks
