Just purchased 1 in great condition, and neither am i far from Pendle Hill myself, i am more Anglezarke/Winter Hill or looking forward to being HOTA over the Sunmer. Also be taking a Spidepole & Hawkins Thunderbolt ½w & my 9900. Power supply hopefully be as linked, as i plan to do some serious Dx while out l. 26-CT-4078/HT-4078 Chorley, Lanc's 👋
I have just brought one of these radios, in good condition for the age, came with box, instructions all parts there, Been after 1 for years, Nice 2 c 1 in action
It was worth A try Mick. Didn't realise you were on the small antenna. The roach pole antenna might have done the job. Not to worry we will get there eventualy :)
I agree with John. Mick you can get cheap chinese hand held rigs that will allow you to work through repeaters for considerable distance. 100 miles or more. The background noise is practically nil on vhf and uhf too and the bad language almost unheard of. Sandy
Nice try Mick if you had a 2m or 70cm cheap Chinese hand held you would have got out for miles up there, have a go at getting your ham licence it is really easy now I did mine about 6 years ago I think you would enjoy it, good video Mick.
Ive got the same one I'm going to get another antenna as the built in one dosant work very well in my flat I'm getting nobody on whatsoever so I'm not sure which antenna to get so will have to get a magmount antenna with a biscuit tin as I'm not allowed to put an antenna outside of my flat
@@JesterBushcraft I've heard siro antennas are supposed to be good antennas I was told my last one that was in the early 90s was a coiled magmount witch I got of a trucker and it was awesome I think it was about 4 foot I used to stick it on my mum's bath

Back in the early 90's I had one of these and took it with me everywhere and had great results...

I had one back in the day! Late 80s early 90s if I recall. Not a bad radio at all. Antenna was a bit flimsy - I broke a couple. :)
Yes it was a great little radio, served me well... Thank you for your comment...
JesterBushcraft still fetch a decent price today actually. My first one cost £60 back in the late 80s, double that today for a half decent one!
Very fine ! Is that AM or FM transmission ?

Thanks for your comment. Yes, hopefully a bit more success contacting Duane, but at least I managed to test the telescopic out...
Yep T2LT and the 6m roach pole next time mate...Thanks again, enjoyed it.
I managed to pickup another CT member about 20miles away, but he wasnt picking me up. May have been low battery... Will doubt test again soon !

Magmount should be fine. I only ever had success with the inbuilt antenna at the summit of a hill...
