    excellent job. could you do something similar w mixing mediums but not just w eye makeup. are there insider tips and tricks to use these in other makeup steps? (like the NYX's is perfect to make a pastel 'wash of colour' eye look w a given shadow. imagine adding shadow to a clear gel n applying it all over the lid. it kinda looks like you put a colour filter on your skin cz it doesnt have opacity.) do you have tips and tricks like that?

    • @Beautylashes19
      @Beautylashes19  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, there are a ton of different "mixing mediums" in the market depending on one's needs. I also have another one from MAC that's not safe to use on the face because of its high alcohol content.. Similarly, you can also find gel based mediums for a dewy effect and the opacity can be controlled by how much pigment you mix in.

    Very helpful! I wonder if mixing mediums perform well with normal glittery shadows too? The kind you'd usually use glitter glue with.

    Thank you for this wonderful comparison, super helpful! Based on your recommendation, i purchased the esum mixing medium. However, i noticed that when i use the wet brush (dipped in mixing medium) and get to some pressed eye shadow it leaves a weird texture on the too of the shadow. It almost as if the shadow changes its texture. I really dont like it. Does it happen to you as well or do you only use mixing mediums with loose pigment?

    • @Beautylashes19
      @Beautylashes19  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Diana, it's pretty normal for the hard pan to form on some eyeshadows. I'm not sure if I mentioned it in this video or another, but I use only a dedicated corner in each eyeshadow pan to use with a damp brush so the rest of the pan is fine to use dry if I want to. You may also want to try reducing the amount of mixing medium on the brush and giving it a go.
      When you go in next over the hard pan area with a damp brush, it should work just fine 😊

    • @Beautylashes19

      That sounds more like a serum or moisturizer.. I would invest in a pro product that says Mixing medium (safe for eyes and lips).. the Mehron one is quite affordable and they have many sizes.

    Question! I just got the Mehron mixing liquid, is it okay that I dip my brush into the mixing liquid than directly onto my pressed eyeshadow palette? Will that ruin my eyeshadow?

    • @Beautylashes19
      @Beautylashes19  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I wouldn't recommend dipping into the liquid directly as you'll pick way too much mixing liquid and also contaminate the liquid with eyeshadow when you dip back for a second helping.. I would get a dropper (like I have shown in this video) or a dropper bottle to use with the liquid. This way you can control how much liquid you use at a time (also the brush tip just needs to be damp, not too wet).
      Once the brush is damp, I would dip it into one corner of the eyeshadow pan. I re-dip into the same area when I'm using the eyeshadow wet. The rest of the pan is for when I'm using the shade dry. I hope this makes sense 😁

      Hi, you can.. just make sure Alcohol is not one of the top ingredients.. it's a great mixer for a special occasion or when you really need the makeup to last but I would not use it on a daily basis. Your moisturizer or a formulated foundation thinner is better for frequent use..
