Love the quality on this video, which camera do you use? I wanna start documenting my progress learning how to figure skate. I’ve kind of gotten obsessed with figure skating lately, but it’s difficult to get ice time during the summer 😅
@@markmagkasi2706 sounds like you need to hop on some inlines for the summer! I use the Sony A7 RV which is overkill for what I’m doing, but it’s because I’m a professional photographer so I already owned the equipment
hii i’ve been watching your vids ever since i found your channel through a yt short ( the single axel one ) ^^ may i ask if your skates’ set up is rockered or flat? i’ve been skating for a while and i kinda wanna get into doing jumps
@@teggs570 yes! 2mm rocker on the front and back. It helps a lot with the jumps, but if you have a flat set up that’s a little worn down you can still do most of the jumps as well.
Do you ever plan on getting inline frames that have toe stops? I’ve been having a lot of fun with the flip/lutz/flutz jumps I’m working on doing them into a bank at the skatepark. I’m still just at 180s but your style definitely got me inspired to try more jumps that I never even considered before
@@bebepastiche9105 I do plan on getting them eventually to practice strictly figure skating moves in, but I’m not sure if I’d use them over these if I’m in an area like this one where there’s multiple places to jump off of. But I have downhill skates, triskates, aggressive, quad, and slalom. So to finish off the collection I would just need a pair of figure skates 😅 not counting speed skates I guess
@@SolidSkatesI’m definitely taking videos but none of them are post ready yet 😂 some days it doesn’t feel like I’m making progress but rewatching older clips helps put it all into perspective
so i have this question.... is ice skating and inline roller skating almost the same? as you already know that i am a beginner at inline skating so if i wanna try ice skating....... will it be easy for me as i know how to roller skate?
@@rubytroublemaker it’s very similar! You’ll notice a few fundamental differences but you’ll adapt to them pretty quick. You should definitely give it a try, you might like it way more, who knows. Having a rockered set up on your inlines would make it feel a lot more like ice skating and help you transfer over more of your skills.
@@ghewins my thoughts are that I’m gonna be doing some of it this winter! I have basically zero experience with actual ice skating in general but personally figure skating has always drew my attention the most. Are you an ice skater then?
@@SolidSkates Many years ago I ice skated on almost a daily basis. I was never very good at it, but being able to immerse myself in moving to music out on the ice was the stress reliever I needed at the time. What impresses me about freestyle skating is that it seems to be all about the fun and that the ice makes possible tricks that physics simply doesn’t allow on other surfaces.
