Another great instrument for Halion Sonic. I find Sonic's factory library beats Kontakt's most of the time. Underrated.
This is very cool. The illegitimate love child of Padshop 2 and Paulstretch - wrapped in a pretty user-friendly and functional interface... Thanks for the walk through :-)
really free, i love steinberg 🥰
Thanks for posting this!
Try this in combination with the Steinbergs Multitap Delay. It will be amazing !!
Top job as always, thank you! This synth makes me feel like like a kid again, pure boundless creativity, This is going to be a fun week!
great stuff, thanks Dom
I'm gonna grab this and try it out immediately!!❤❤
thanks for this one! it's like you guys were thinking about me. :)
Thank you for this high-quality video well presented. 🎉
Very nice ! It reminds me the "grain" part of Aslight or Pharlight (from NI), I love granular synths. I think I'll love this one too ! (And nice explanation, as usual 🙂)
Super cool and endless hours of fun ;)
Great. I will use this! Thanks🙏👊
Thanks Dom that's so awesome.
Nice. I am also a user of Halion 7. I will have to take a closer look in order to understand if this offers different options compared to the updated spectral synth in Halion 7.1.
Very cool
It is great and free. Thanks!!!!!!!!!
I am unable to drag and drop any sample into x-stream?... am i missing something?
Me either. What’s the catch ?
@@yogevkarny8313 I had this too but then I noticed I hadn't updated cubase/halion to the latest versions. I updated & now it's working.
You can only drag and drop them from certain places. There is an x-stream help page on the website of the 'overarching company'.
Same here! I am using Logic Pro X (Mac)
very nice thx :-)

Very Cool, thank you for showing!! How can I save my new sound as a preset? Do I have to do it in the DAW? The Halion/X-Stream Preset handling seems a little confusing to me... thanks in advance!
You're not the only one. Plugins using only the Cubase file system I find hard to save patches with. Same applies with the otherwise excellent free Full Bucket Music plugins that don't have a proper file system. I've never been able to find an explanation for how to do this.
How do I get the synth piece I've created into a track in Cubase? Tried recording with the controls at top of Halion screen, but it doesn't playback any recording. Do I have to be connected to a MIDI instrument? That doesn't make sense to me.
Can it play in poly? Or is it just mono one note at a time? Not seeing any setting to allow me to play chords. Thanks!
Can you show how and where to save presets? I click save and it's going to a folder named "search". Thanks!
I can't get the filter points to add to the filter 'bar', even with filter turned on. Can you suggest what I might be doing wrong, please?
how do i resize the plugin ?
i cant find the library
Tempo to host sync?
Is there a way to hear a sample of my own normally in Xstream then messing it around?
Load the Init preset and turn Blur Time and Blur Depth to minimum. With Speed 100 % you will hear the sample almost unchanged, but played through the Spectral. If you want to listen to the original in advance before messing around with it you can use the pre-listening function of the browser in HALion.
@@VSTInstrumentsPlugIns thanks! It really is amazing what can be done to a sample. This, and Image Line's Harmor...crazy processors.
how do you bounce audio out of xstream?
in your daw.
@@Byron101_ ok, I was gonna record then render it out. I didn't know if it was an option to render like Paul X Stretch directly from the vst
it does not play polyphonic ?
i need halion ! cant find it on halion sonic
I am using X-Stream with Halion Sonic 7. Make sure that you have downloaded and installed X-Steam in the Native Access download manager.
@skelligringphotographyandw7012 I eneded up last night a few beers to help my decision and bought Halion 7 . Not found xstream yet and have downloaded all content. Think I need to watch a TH-cam on halion as I'm struggling to load content up and playing samples. I only had about 10mins play so far before going out
I've had Halion for 2 years and never use it. The installation process is so frustrating i end up giving up.
I hate Halion, and this plug in doesn't make me change my mind.
Haha, its a waste of time as you can not even drag n drop your own samples... this probably has been made on purpose to lure people into the paid stuff!
You should be able to drag & drop your own samples in. Which DAW are you using?
Aha... now I WILL update to Halion 7.1 and take advantage of the price cut. From what I understand, the spectral synth in Halion is polyphonic and offers a few more processing tools. Sound design is definately part of the composition process. There are other similar VST instruments out there but Steinberg has made granular synthesis intuitive, musical with the "Pure" function & ability to add harmonics and last but not least, very easy to use!
