it's not the software support it's about what it offered. it's like saying the iphone xs and the 15 pro are the same thing because they both run ios 18, the iphone 6 was bigger, had a bigger screen better camera new design NFC and more things.

On it I have a calculator, calendar, alarm clocks, camera, photo album, internet, ect.. ect.. I can video chat with someone on the other side on the planet. In the palm of my hand. This is the kind of star trek technology I dreamed of as a kid. Even if it is ten years out of date.
They don’t slow down them per se it’s just that every new update becomes more demanding on ram and processing power leaving you with no space for other apps as the system starts to use more and more power of your phone
i currently use an iphone 6 because my previous phone got really slow and barely useable. its still kinda impressive that after 10 years this phone is still somewhat viable. some apps like youtube or spotify dont work but tiktok, discord and messenger work well. i wouldnt recommend buying it in 2024 as it has outdated software but if u have one its still somewhat ok
@@stereodan7180 you can’t use Instagram, since it requires iOS 15.1 and later now. But you can still use WhatsApp on it, along with TikTok and Snapchat (via iOS 12.4)
This was the prior phone I had before my current phone with the 8 Plus and I owned that 6 for 2 1/2 years. The 6 was a massive upgrade for me over the 5S in terms of memory because I needed a phone with better memory more than anything which was 16 GB on the 4 and 5S I owned previously and was able to get a 32 GB version.
I just upgraded from an iPhone 6 plus with 16gb storage and 1gb ram to a midrange Huawei with 128gb and 8gb ram. Its leagues faster and up to date but the camera is godauful compared to the 10yo iPhone 6. 🤷🏾♂️ still an upgrade by far

Today I replaced my iPhone 6s+ with an iPhone 12…it feel strange, like no home button? No headphone port? There’s a lot of good qualities of a 12 but I know I’m gonna be missing my 6
I suppose it's ok for just a back up phone by just using it for calls, I've just found mine in my junk box, I thought it was dead but I charged it and everything still works.
The only down sides is not being able to get certain apps since they require 13 ios or higher but when it comes to youtube it installs the last compatible version so your fine but some apps don't let you get the last compatible because it came out later. Also its good if it has an sd card if your the person who gets more apps and take videos.
This video helped me see a bit more clearly, because I had an iPhone 6 and I upgraded to the 13 which is a very good phone in 2024 and it released in 2021, and I got the 13 for my birthday and another major thing like you said alpaca the 6 does NOT support certain apps.
a9 is way faster than a8 back then, that that's time snapdragon 810 is about same performance as a8, thinking about it that 2014 now is 2024; and it stuck with super slow charging too, at that time samsang already have qc2.0 15w
@@JMANE187i have iphone 5s and youtube works, its just an older version. but you would be correct about other apps, some do require you to go on the web browser to try and log in. I'm not even sure I can log in for some apps.
ios 12 (2013) was replaced by ios 15 in 2015, so maybe mixed up between iphone12 and ios 12. This iphone 6 has an ios 10 years older, and most of apps now require ios 13. I would go with iphone 6s which have the A9 processor and the ios 15. should be good for a while
One of a manager in my office still uses an i phone 6 and feels like he owns an i phone 15 pro max 😅

How are you on TH-cam? TH-cam is only supported for IOS 14 and later and IPhone 6 only goes up to IOS 12.5.

Iphone 6s my main phone and still use it in 2024.I love it.

I got a 14 pro but and the idea of apple slower down each version of apple devices the older they get bothers me but at least a 6 is usable still 🙏

buy as parts only, it still supports voLte, unlike iphone 5s and Galaxy S4 dont supoort voLte once telcos shut down 3g network.
