2007: When "blinding" weapon lights were 120 lumens, concealed carry was still a new thing in many places (with a stigma against it), and the threat of terrorist attacks was much, much closer to home for most people than it is now.
Depressingly enough the threat of a terrorist attack is much higher these years. Back in 2007 the US felt threatened by terrorist groups from the Middle-East who had very little chance to actually carry out a successful attack. Domestic terrorists are much more of a threat these days. Domestic terrorism is much less prevalent in the media, but I'd say it hits a lot closer to home.

Still a stigma against concealed carry in my leftist state. My concealed carry permit is very, very restricted. I take my chances when I’m not traveling to and from the range or to hunting. .
Well people who didn’t know what they were talking about disliked the Glock because of it’s ammo capacity, despite the fact that high capacity pistols were becoming more normal.
So glad I live in the South - where constitutional carry is becoming a norm.

In 2007 I was armed with a Mossberg 500, an SKS, and a 1911. Everybody's AR had quad rails, though.

My ARs that I built recently have quad rails lol. nothing wrong with the good old cheese grater. I can stand the skinny little Mlok rails. Too much heat transfer.

I have little doubt they'll be plentiful. Being legal will never be an issue, since any law that hits the books purporting to regulate them in any way, shape, or form is unconstitutional, and therefore void before it arrives, thanks to this little thing called the 2nd amendment. The question is, will there be enough folks with the stones to pick 'em up and enforce that fact on the overreaching government?

Mine has the removable handle they are fun I haven't shot it in years since I mainly use PSA ar15s now. I'll hang onto it since it was my first one. It is a shame you have to be 21 years old now to buy a rifle.

I remember the ads for the M&P when they first came out. I had to have one. Still don’t regret buying it. Wish I bought it in 9mm instead of .40 but I still love the pistol. First handgun I bought when I turned 21.

When I traded it in (NBF) for a S&W Combat 66 and a Jericho (baby Desert Eagle), the fella at “Accuracy Plus,” Peterboro, ON, said: “too bad it wasn’t a 9mm, I coulda given you more money for it! Nonetheless, I wished I’d bought a non-restricted AR-15 (5.56 Nato/.223), cuz our goofy PM-Trudeau has banned all ARs. My son now has my cool M&P 9 Pro Series C.O.R.E. 9mm!

This video should have an extended title called "Armed in 2020". The impulsive choices of civilian firearms are still identical & present since 2007. I know I made the right choices.
All I can remember is that in 2007 I learned about the existence of the desert eagle, that same year mexico turned into a warzone and I learned we civilians can't own firearms to defend ourselves...
Love the armed in series. A good shotgun, a good rifle, and a decent caliber handgun is timeless. I never feel under gunned with these three things in place. It's all a person needs to fit any bill. Thanks Hickock.

Sig 556 SWAT Patrol as my first ARish rifle which I chose over the Colt 6920.
XD sub compact was my semi auto pistol at that time. I've since come around and Glockified. Your videos were very instrumental in refining my selections over the years. Of course, I'm always hampered by California's draconian firearm restrictions.

I built an M4 style AR, like you have, on an Anderson lower with PSA Upper in 2020. If it worked in 2007 it still works today. If it doesn't, I have my M1 Garand.
I read Colt is putting the 6920 back into production for civilian sale.

No, they stopped selling ARs on the civilian market because they didn't sell well. Most people have learned that Colt isn't all that. FN makes a better civilian AR.

I'm not a gun owner, far from it, but, something that I always notice in Hickok's videos is how his safety measures are incredibly commendable. It's so natural for him to always double/triple check if a chamber is empty that it even becomes satisfying.

Honestly it’s the little things that make the guns of today so much better, even the fact the optics on a rifle are now standard practice and that those optics are so much cheaper now such as a Thermal optic.

She is a doctor who gives lectures to other doctors who want to learn something new about real health. I'm am pretty sure all of the video presentations she makes have links to the research papers she discusses in her presentations. She also has interviews with other research doctors who are at the top of their field. Like Dr. Valter Longo, Dr. David Sinclair, Dr. Peter Attia, Wim Hoff and others whom you may have heard of. If you care to learn more about healthy living and proper diet and nutrition she can give you more information than I ever could. I'm not really that smart. Though sometimes I think I am. Her work on sulfurofane (I may have misspelled that) derived from broccoli sprouts is very thorough, with links to her research. If you care to take the time to watch a few of her videos and are not convinced that some vegetables can be beneficial to your health then I don't know what to say. By the way, I do understand the principles of a ketogenic diet and a carnivore diet and a paleo diet. I went from 265 pounds to 205 pounds in a 6 to 8 month time period by modifying my diet and exercise routines. Cruciferous vegetables and berries are the most beneficial plant foods that I consume. Next in line is nuts, primarily for their magnesium content and fiber, though they are high in oxalates. That should be enough for now. If you care to point me in the right direction to improve my health please, go ahead. I'm open to good advice.

If I was old enough to possess firearms back in 2007, I would have picked a Remington 870, a WASR-10/63, and an HK USP 40. I’m not a big fan of the pistol choice, but the Mossberg 500 and an AR-15 are solid choices

My ARs used to have quad rails with lights, foregrips (and lasers). Now, they just have polymer handguards and no accessories. Some are topped with removable carry handles, some with Aimpoints. Nothing else. The weapons are much lighter that way. I have a knockoff of an AR15A4 too. It's bone stock, nothing added. I prefer things as simple and straightforward as possible now.
