At that NSJF in 1987 (22 years of age), I saw Diana Schuur on saterday. I had Robert Cray on cassette/tape with 1 album but I did't realise he was a GREAT blues artist... I still regret I did not visit his concert on vriday....so nearby !!
Great video of Robert Cray and his band. I like the guys recordings but he is one one of those players that seeing them live is always a notch up from the studio. Thanks for sharing this video.
A master at his craft. What a performer. Seen him live. My Dear Uncle Mark who has since passed away once brought me with my Uncle Steve. Great Musician. Great Show!
I agree 100% .. He’s very unique… I checked to see where he’s touring last night…. He’s going to be at Penn’s Peak in Pennsylvania on March 10th… Ticket Purchased… 🫡
Robert Cray, un grandisimo concierto,, un músico completo genial lleno de talento,, uno de los grandes de nuestro tiempo,, un concierto majistral de libro abierto...
At 39:00 he does this up tempo bluesy "Change in Heart" where his vocals are really for front and the sweat is pouring off of him - great performance. And then at 50:15 Smoking Gun where his guitar originality is highlighted - he breaks a string and the guitar switch is flawless - sweet licks galore.
Especially on the first song n coulda had a change of heart it was bad. Probably why he kept switching guitars. N since he's such a busy player he couldn't stop n tune up
Man, I think this guy is a legend. Strong Persuader was my first Robert Cray album, and it's still a classic.
@gregoryemerson5778 Thanks, Gregory. I agree. Love his music.
Robert Cray man! One of my favorite artists of all time. Great singer, guitarist, songwriter….will listen to this dude till the end!
Love Robert Cray, keeping the blues alive. ❤❤❤❤
I’ve been fortunate to see Mr.cray in each decade since hearing him in the eighties. Now it’s time for another, see you soon my friend.

My goodness is all that can be said. Here's what happens when music isn't fake.
Nog een jong ventje toen. Ik leerde spelen met zijn platen. Where has the time gone?

Well spotted! He never missed a beat. Pure Class.
That was smooth 👌
Every Robert Cray show I wait for a guitar solo and I never get one
Maybe you don't recognize one when you hear it?
Maybe find out what a guitar solo sounds like?
Essa sequência é muito boa! Gosto muito dele!!!
Robert Cray along with Mark Knopfler the 2 most distinctive guitar players imo 🎸❤️
Those"Strat"tones 👍👍👍

I adore you
You are my God!
26:19 I was hit by this one NOTE! It looks like his amp got on fire from this song.
what a beautiful soul. rip muddy fong.
Tim Kaihatsu -- a very fine guitar player -- is also in this lineup.
Super!! 👍
Lindaaaa👏👏👏👏👏👏
Tim Kaihatsu on the second guitar
Tim was a fine, fine player, with a distinctive style. He really shined in the little bit of soloing he did with the band back then.
That's what I was going to say!
I liked Tim's guitar solo playing, sadly no longer with us. The one I remember was smoking gun.
Man I wish I could sing properly. I can play the guitar pretty well but having a good voice too would be so cool.

FFS where's the guitar tech?
Great show , but Robert's guitar was out of tune almost the entire show...
Especially on the first song n coulda had a change of heart it was bad. Probably why he kept switching guitars. N since he's such a busy player he couldn't stop n tune up
So what!
One of the most affected and boring performer I've ever had the misfortune to watch.
....and yet you watched !
Polka must be Franckies gig, good luck with that! Robert Cray is one of Eric Clapton’s favorite guitarist……. Uh yea.
There's always an asshole named goldjigga 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😜
You can't talk,if you weren't there 😎
He's amazing in this show.
