      Lats adduct, medially/internally rotate, and extend the arm at the glenohumeral joint. This video demonstrates that the OAP incorporates all three of those lat functions.

      @@masterleon40 Yes. That’s why it’s needed in the one arm pull-up (or any pull-up). It’s actually in the portion of the one arm pull-up when your body starts squaring off to the bar. 3 phases, of the movement, 3 functions of the lat.

    How would that work for a one arm chin up? It seems it would be a bit more challenging to use the technique you describe.

    • @CleoandCoco
      @CleoandCoco 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's hard to engage the lats much with a one arm chin up. I trained for over 4 months to do one and would get stuck about eight inches from the top. I could just feel that progress beyond that would be almost physically impossible for me at my weight. So I came to realize on my own that doing a one-arm pull up would probably be easier to do since it uses lots of lat strength. I started training for those about a month ago and I could feel it a lot in my lats and I've already made lots of progress. I'm pretty confident that I'll get there in a few months or less, but I could be wrong. I'll upload a video of it when I get there.

    To be honest all you need is a strong weighted pull-up for multiple reps and one arm negatives maybe even some partials. You're a rock climber so you should have the strength to start with anyway. From there it should only take 3 or 4 months to get it. But whatever

  • @OGazdicO

    Im okay with that you wanted to do a one arm pull up, but why did you start with one arm, you created muscle imbalance. Respect anyways.
