There is so much right with Wario Land: Shake It. The animation is just beautiful as a 2D game. It's a modern day classic just as good if not better then the New Super Mario Bros titles.
12 years ago..? Damn.. I remember when this came out. I remember reading about it in Nintendo power and how new and cool it was supposed to be cause it was on the Wii. Damn. Now I just feel old man. And I'm really not that old.

I waited and I waited with this game, and then it was gone... :( I would love to play it when it somehow got back in store because it looks like I missed something really dumb and wacky in a positive way from Nintendo.
I agree, the levels are clever but the hardest part is meeting the special requirements and finding the treasures, took me at least 7 tries to get one of the easy stages cleared of everything.
Some parts of the level are available only after shaking the box. But anyway, I do agree that it's a great game and recommend buying it except if one hates time limits. And even then it's worth trying and seeing if the time limit is not too annoying. I'm so glad that they still do 2D-platformers instead of all fancy 3D ones.

I have always been a fan of cartridges, and now that computer chips can out-store CD's in information capacity: I want Nintendo to bring the cartridge back. Aside from the sensitive disc, the game is amazing! I love most of the music tracks in this game, and the levels really do look good. Nintendo also played on my 2D-loving side when they made this game. Have a good day.

@acuidad Hey, a good amount of Nintendo's games are challenging. Plus, they target everybody (from kids to "real" gamers to parents to "casual" gamers to "hardcore" gamers, etc).
It's not the difficulty level that is the problem there. It's just the fact that there has to be this time limit which always takes away the fun of exploring the level. Also, there are some challenges that require things to do within the time limit (such as explode all the bombs in a level). It's just not that fun anymore. And that happens in every single level. Without it the game would be almost perfect.
I disagree about your stance on the controls. I never could get into this game because I really hate the motion controls. I wish there was a standard controller option.

He never said anything about it being aimed towards casual gamers. He said its a family console. Also back with the nes, snes, and n64 there wasn't really a hardcore market (I'm assuming you mean shooters and gorey stuff). I can gurantee that the handhelds were not aimed towards hardcore market, look at most of the games on the GB, GBC, GBA, and DS, None of those hanhelds had a lot of hardcore gaming. The handhelds were just meant for games on the go they weren't aiming for hardcore nor casual.
I can see where you are comeing from, the game is easy, but it is also very fun, and has some really clever levels, so I don't think it's all that overrated.
Wow i have it and it is really short. The boss battles aren't really hard. The missions and fidning treasure is harder. So, i would say rent the game because you're gonna beat it quickly. Really you don't want to go back to the missions or treasure because you won't get anything out of it except music.
There needs to be a sequel to this game, or a spiritual successor.

That's true, but doing the challanges is one of the most fun parts of the game.
