Just wanted to add, that Aztecs and Mayans had locs as well especially the priest as having your hair loced up showed you were connected with the gods. just like in other cultures the hair was shown to be an extension of who you were even to the point when tribes would conquer other tribes they would cut their hair as it was believed to be containing your power. Mexican here, I’ve had locs for couple months so I’m still in the beginning phase but it’s good to see this so you know your hairs being done right. And to kind of settle it wether it’s acceptable.
Only people in LA was black people and us Mexicans so I just saw it as something us colored people use as a hairstyle.

Mexicans are “Hispanics/ Latinos”based on US terms. One of the most racially diverse groups Hispanics/Latinos come in all different types of forms and shapes. As we know all races are possible of having locs, its just matter of race, people might view you different for the way you look or your culture, I say who gives a damn yk? Just be yourself. Personally I’m Ecuadorian and I’d love to rock dreadlocks even though I got type 3b hair, I feel like we should all just do what makes us feel right.
