I think this goes hand in hand with what you want. For me, I want to learn coding, Japanese and workout, and research related to that. Thus, "wasting time" for me means, doing the exact opposite, or anything, that won't contribute to goal. I'm not going to be young forever, and I don't want my goals become accomplished "some day". I already waste so much time doing a job I don't even like. And to make it worse, I waste time on social media and on TV after I get back from work; the golden hours which I could utilize learning something I like and getting my preferred job. It's a downward spiral
We have come to such a horrible extent of doing time wasting activities ,that even activities considered useless in the old days are highly productive and necessary for us, or we're done.
I've wasted so much time worrying about being productive. I've wasted so much time working jobs that fulfill someone else's dream. One of the best things you can do for yourself is Slow Down. You don't need to move a mile a minute. You don't need to race through life as though it's a checklist. Go outside for long walks, breathe in the fresh air, learn new hobbies and skills, make meaningful connections that aren't only online (nothing wrong with online connections too, balance is key), and know that you have the power to change your life. You have the ability to make choices, no matter how small, that could change the course of everything. Life is so short, and it only goes faster with each passing year. Worrying about being "productive" and continuing on this fast paced life will only make it go faster. One day, it will be your last day on this earth. Cherish it, be grateful for the things you have, and fill it with the things you love. Remember that time spent enjoying something isn't wasted. Build a meaningful life, Stop and notice the beauty in the little things that are everywhere around you. It's going to be okay. You got this. ❤️🌲🌸😊

A circle of things/duties including checking emails, I sometimes have let build up by days, and consequently, your flow in life is messy. The real deal is that time waits for nobody!!!
I hate the idea that life/time MUST be something useful. That every bit of it has to be spent in some purpose. But I hate even more the idea of living a life thinking by the head of others, by cheap values, by the constant seek for escapism from the core of ourselves and all the pain that comes from it.
Maybe it is some sorta of escapism from the void of existence, from the intricate "uselessness" of life. How did i come to this point in this comment section? I don't know.

This year literally felt like I was just wasted all my valuable time. I wasted 4 months. I can say I'm still having fun and I have huge free time. But its just that one feeling trying to say to you that you've wasted your time. Days goes then I start to feel worse as these feelings kept going on inside me. I can just do any productivity I want but anxiety kicks in that blocking you doing things that are good for you. So it's just a endless loophole.
PSA to all of my fellow ADHD people who watched this and immediately felt ashamed to exist. IT IS OKAY to struggle with doom scrolling and ADHD paralysis. Obviously it's not ideal and if you can stop doom scrolling so much, that's awesome. It's a good thing to try to be better and spend your time in ways that will make you happier in the long run. HOWEVER, often this advice is presented like in this video: accusatory, judgmental, and shaming. There are good intentions behind this sentiment and maybe it helps some people and I'm glad if that's the case. But here's the thing. WE KNOW. You know as well as I do how much time is "wasted" by side quests and instant-gratification. We know that we could be doing something productive and meaningful. But we have to get past literal physiological differences in our brain structure in order to self-regulate. It is not easy to fight procrastination. It does not make you weak, lazy, or stupid to struggle with these things. It is not a moral failing. All human beings are gonna waste time. It's actually counterproductive to obsess over being productive every second of every day. Monitoring your behavior is draining. It is a very often-overlooked fact that people need breaks from self-regulation. And beating yourself up about having wasted time will only cause problems. This is a reminder to myself just as much as anyone else that we are trying and that is what matters. The best thing you can do (in my opinion) if you have wasted a lot of time is to accept that fact and move on. Maybe try to build some self-awareness about why you were doom scrolling (or whatever it is) and what you can change next time to work with your brain and not against it. Cut yourself some dang slack. And drink some water. ❤
In my opinion, there isn't any big meaning about life. You just gotta live 70-80 years and pass away. Than someone is going to take your place and your name will be forgotten in a decade or two. So... Ask yourself "How can I find a meaning in this short life?" Do the things that you are passionate about and do the things that give you happiness. I believe if a person on his/her seventies can say that they lived a happy life and don't have many big regrets, that is a successful person. I am currently 28 and I am spending as much time with my wife and parents as possible when we are all around and healthy. That is what gives me the most happines and I couldn't count it as a waste of time even if we are sitting together and do nothing in the meantime.
Some advice from a random Internet stranger (take it or leave it): I recommend you take out some time to research (with an open mind) religions and atheism and conclude what is the truth. If atheism is the truth, what you have said is potentially viable. If a religion is true, success is in following that religion. If God exists, he would make it apparent to a truth seeker. So seek the truth to see if he exists. Because if he does, this lifestyle you have mentioned is untenable and could lead to failure in the afterlife. It won't take you much time and the worst outcome you'll have is probably increased knowledge and better perspective of people and culture.
i mean yeah but try reducing that 1/3 and you might even get a 1/2 due to more health complications. realizing is a thing but taking actions to make the remaining 2/3 meaningful is more of a sign of maturity, at least to me.
That can't be counted as wasted time.... Nature created us all to have rest at the end of the day, during the night And a good sleep is also very important for young children as they grow up during the sleep The body also fights any kind of illness during the sleep and even build muscles (if you workout) But the thing that matters is what have you done in the remaining two-third of your life where you were really meant to do something
Bro if sleeping is a waste of time then every human on earth is unproductive which is not the case, sleep is important you can literally die if you don't sleep for like more than a week. What I'm saying is better sleeping one third of your life than doing nothing one third of your life
But the actual question is what does not wasting time even mean? What is actually right and worthy of doing? And why should I care what my future self thinks, if my future self is blaming it’s past self for its behaviour and actions then its probably just an excuse
For me, it's whatever I enjoy. If I'm doing stuff just to pass the time because I have nothing else to do, that's wasting time. I recently stopped playing video games not because they are a "waste of time" by themselves, but because I was only playing them to pass the time and not enjoying it. If you are having an amazing time playing video games, keep doing it! If you are having fun getting stuff done, working on personal projects, etc, it's not a waste of time! Of course there are boring things you have to do as well, working out, eating healthy, etc- but I also just try to find ways to make those fun! TLDR: Wasted time is when your doing activities you don't enjoy, not wasting time is when your doing stuff and having fun.
That is the point of the beginning of the video. YOU know what activities waste YOUR time. It's different for everyone. For myself, I waste time playing games all day when I should be studying to get a good job. With said job I can afford countless things that are even more satisfying than gaming, as well as finally getting rid of the inner feeling of shame at not doing anything meaningful with my time. I could even afford a much nicer gaming setup, and play games better than I do now. Wasting time is like wasting money, if you spent $1 everyday on $1 SlimJims, then you will only ever experience the flavor of a SlimJim. Had you saved that $1 a day for a hundred days, you could treat yourself to a $100 prime steak, which is a far more satisfying and memorable experience.
I really enjoy wasting time but it got me into poverty and debt, that’s how I know it was wasted. Few years ago I was closer to my life goals than now. Don’t make my mistakes, wasting time is dangerous and it’s like an addiction you want to stop but cannot.
It frustrates me how true this video is. to make matters worse, there’s nothing fun or amazing to do in a modern day society so we can’t even take advantage of our lives, even if we wanted to.

I don't only still don't study for them but tell myself that I will wait a year and study in that time but I know that's just a excuse to myself to have more time to waste so I can say to myself "I will do that anyways, I can just continue doing whatever I do right now and don't go into stress while trying to achieve something" but I know when the time comes to "study" or do something important, I will find another excuse.

You still have time in your 40s, still have time in your 50s, in your 60s, 70s. Start now.

"Whole damn day"
Somedays I waste my whole days🥲
needed this, thank you :)
All of it. It's all a waste of time. There's no way to not. It all ends up a waste.
Atheist garbage. There is a purpose. Youre simply failing to live by it.
Feels like whole universe procrastinated billions of years to make everything unperfect.
Maturity is when you realise that you wasted one-third of your life just sleeping and doing nothing
i mean yeah but try reducing that 1/3 and you might even get a 1/2 due to more health complications. realizing is a thing but taking actions to make the remaining 2/3 meaningful is more of a sign of maturity, at least to me.
That can't be counted as wasted time....
Nature created us all to have rest at the end of the day, during the night
And a good sleep is also very important for young children as they grow up during the sleep
The body also fights any kind of illness during the sleep and even build muscles (if you workout)
But the thing that matters is what have you done in the remaining two-third of your life where you were really meant to do something
Bro if sleeping is a waste of time then every human on earth is unproductive which is not the case, sleep is important you can literally die if you don't sleep for like more than a week.
What I'm saying is better sleeping one third of your life than doing nothing one third of your life
Really, i Didn't wanted to realise that spending time in nature, with friends and family is productive. Thanks for changing my perspective 😃
He answered all that in the video.
Your future self isn’t “making excuses” it’s annoyed you made decisions that they, not you, have to live with.
I'm wasting too much time. By the time I realize it the day is over and I feel helpless.
If you enjoy the time you wasted then it wasn't wasted
But half of the time people don’t truly enjoy what they do in their spare time
@@inkz3520 what are they some kind of idiots

Stop wasting time is a double negative. A better question would be: How can I use my time as best as possible?
Am i wasting my time by watching this??
this video being almost only 3 minutes made me watch it fully becasue my bad attention span. Sadly though, I am very very lazy to change how my life goes right now so I just try to fill the empty time I have with vids, games and corn and hope whenever I need to make a important decision in my life, I hope I can just find a fast quick solution for it and continue consuming more uselees content to not think about my future and worry myself. For example; I got final exams almost in a month and I never studied for them and all of my subjects sucks.
