I own a fully restored and engine upgraded TVR Griffith 500hc.
I'm 57. Grew up in my early years near a TVR dealer. Always loved the noise and styling.
Just my opinion, the Mk 2 Griffith is one of the best looking cars ever made.
I owed the 1993.tvr chimaera London show car for 6 years loved that car have a never tvr chimaera have owned this car for 18 years I will never get rid of it love tvrs❤
Great video of the TVR history, yes I own a 2001 Chimaera 4.5 and just love it, the styling and that V8 engine, WOW 👌
This film makes me proud to be an owner of a 2001 MK3 Chimaera 450 /4650 Baffled sump high pressure oil pump Vernier timing set. High lift cam .Ecu chip upgrade & runs like a bull at a gate. Lots more mods to do soon. On my youtube channel. Thanks for showing this video it was great. Also inspires me to get on with my Brembo brake coversion.

I had a Lotus Excel as an everyday car, it was supposed to be a weekend toy but the grin factor was off the scale, they handle like nothing else , better than an Esprit even, Only 135mph top speed but that was irrelevant when you didnt have to slow down for corners lol . So i just couldn't not use it every day and never ever had any bother with it and we all know what they say about LOTUS .I know someone with a Tuscan too who uses it everyday even in winter and the only problem he has is it scares him lol
Awesome! I've always admired lotus! They have a similar reputation to the tvr's reliability for some reason! I guess the stereotype comes from tvr's quality control problem in the 80s & 90s as they were "handmade". But can't discredit lotus's F1 pedigree and engine build quality so I think your right, lack of use/ maintenance will kill just about any engine, 🍻🤝
*oh and tell your friend he's a madlad for driving a tvr in winter! Sounds slippery!

Been a supporter & buyer of TVR for thirty years and still own a Griffith today. Such a shame the TVR name fell into someones hands that appears to not hold all the credentials & skills to actually bring a new TVR motor car to to market. The longer the fiasco continues, the more damaging to the future of TVR becomes. Video games TVR are not. Peter Wheeler would rightly be turning in his grave.

the purple tuscan engine sounds like it needs a rebuild or the tappets checking.
The crazy thing about tvr's are the quirky things people seem to hate are also the things they love about them. And I'm one of them😬
It’s a common thing when cold a bit of slap is normal
10mins in that's a very nice Tuscan (Speed6) in Spectra-flair paint but there's definitely a tappet problem.........

My tuscan sounded the same till it went boom lol. It started to get a bit embarrassing as it was louder than the exhaust. Weak finger followers as I recall. 7k rebuild... going back 15 years but still loved that car. Enjoyed the video, thanks.

That Tuscan is a bit rattled, sounds like it needs the top end doing

I built one,I call it t,b,r, it can top speed at 225 mph, it only has one seat ,the reason for that one seat is the reason it can do speeds of up to 235 ish, mph,a secret I will have to share one day to the person who deserves the holy grail of speed,I have not seen the person I will need one day,
