Alolan Personally I haven't gotten one yet, but I would say BBTS or Amazon are good, as they have good return policies. BUT! Make sure you read the return policy for BBTS, as they have pretty strict rules. And while Amazon is pretty easy going they do have the worst prices.
CadeTV - This figure came out in 2018 and many of the SHMA figures increase over time. After market prices will dictate the prices now. You must try to get these figures as soon as they are released.
Got a kick out of the comparison with the 1954 figure, really gives you the vibe of comparing a prehsitoric species depiction prior to and post to the Dinosaur Renaissance of the 1970's.
easily my second favorite goji design. (second only to godzilla earth lol) Edit: kiryu goji is now my favorite, winning over earth by quite a bit. (Earth is still #2 of course)
Well, DiegoDoom seemed to like this figure, but we all know that Steven is very critical of SHMA figures *around 17 minutes later* ... what?... Steven likes a modern SHMA figure??? The end times must be coming....
Tiernan McCulloch Diego Doom while a good reviewer, he only gives a positive opinion. Steven gives more of his own opinion and I like that he’s critical of these figures.
@fã de godzilla •ha 66 milhões de anos atrás wait for the repainted version. It's too expensive as it's been a few years. At this point waiting for the repaint would be the healthier choice.
I myself have had one since this august and I frickin love this figure. Especially the detailing on shading of the dorsal plates. I am a sucker for dark/light shading. The only issues it has is that the elbow on the right arm (viewed from the front perspective) keeps falling off easily whenever I try to move it around; and that the head pops off a little easily, especially when I try to make the entire neck and head to face up; and I always worry about the tongue whenever it falls off, and because it’s size, you can easily loose it. But other than that the figure is absolutely amazing
I don't understand why they can't just seem to get the paint job right, it's like the easiest thing. Sculpt is done, parts together all you have to do is paint.
@@talhajubair4823 It's pretty easy for myself. I do it for fun with supplies from Michael's craft store that is within a $40 budget. I always repaint my figures or do corrections because they are never satisfactory. You'd think that a professional company such as NECA or SHMA would be capable of evenly painting their 6 inch figures.
@@Alex_bkr10 NECA actually paints their figures, and they do it pretty well too! It’s just SHMA that’s the problem! No drybrushing, sloppy paint, no nail paint for god sake? THEY COULDN’T EVEN BOTHER TO PAINT THE NAILS!!! Definitely not worth it for an $100 figure that should get almost everything right! What I’m trying to say is, NECA clearly does a better job than SHMA in terms of paint for a $25 price point! If it wasn’t for NECA losing the Godzilla license, I’m pretty sure that people would catch on to NECA and would rather buy their figures instead of paying hundreds of dollars for just one figure with poor paint application! Heck! I even fear that one day, SHMA will literally stop painting their figures and will just make them one exact color, that is how bad i think this line is getting!
@@MrCool-fo9sr I beg to differ on that one. The paint on my SHMA figures are always on point. It's always my NECA figures that I am repainting. I haven't painted any of my SHMA bc I have yet to receive one with poor paint quality or paint error. Could just be our luck, Idk. Im lucky with SHMA and you're lucky with NECA.
@@Alex_bkr10 yeah! I have mostly achieved good eyes on my figures but whenever I see everyone else’s, I just look at all that awful looking paint on the eyes and the minimal paint on the skin! Really makes no sense when comparing it to the paint on the $25 NECA figures! Good eyes, Good mouth paint, tons of drybrushing, shading, all the stuff that you would expect to see on an $100 figure! Yet, that somehow isn’t the case! In fact, the roles are switched! You’d expect the NECA to have minimal paint and bad face paint due to the price and you’d expect the SHMA to have good face paint and some excellent looking drybrushing for the price as well! Yet, no! I have NO idea who is “painting” the SHMA figures but they honestly need to be fired for the sake of everyone’s money! Especially now when they’re literally the only articulated Godzilla line now!
So i recently received my Reissue 2002 goji: paint is still amazing, even on the claws for the hands and toes, but the only difference between the original and reissue is both his eyes are painted to look up more, he gives a more mean mug look and with both eyes looking up they are pretty well painted. Great figure and reissue.
I got very lucky from what you were saying about quality issues. Mine appears clean and the eyes are straight. Another fabulous review, thank you Steve!
I literally dont care about the eye paint, my 2002 is a 10/10, the only times the joints popped out were in accidental force being applied to the left arm and the middle neck. Overall, this is my most stable S.H. Monsterarts figure, which i like! No joins pop out unless forced, good paint and articulation, this is my favorite S.H. Monsterarts figure yet.
See, this is the really painful thing, I kinda take back SOME of my grevenices about this thing, and after this stellar review, I kinda want one... There is NO guarantee the one I may up getting would come even close to this. I am sick and tired of this betting game. It's starting to remind me of games like Dokkan battle with its drops. Which is really sad, because I can a speck of hope with this release. Thanks again for keeping it 100.
Haha! This is the 4th review video where I've seen something pop off of it. In this it was the arm joint. In another it was the head. In another it was the torso when they were demonstrating the ab crunch articulation. And the other was during an unboxing, the end of the tail popped off.
Mine has an issue with the right bicep not wanting to always stay in, but it's no biggie. The hip and ankle were literal recording flukes that never happened another time since.
3 years and 1 reissue later, I can still say this is a pretty good figure, any room for improvement? Oh Yeah...but for what we got it's pretty good. I hope someday Bandai and Tamashii revisit this Godzilla, and I hope if they do they touch up a few things, like its sculpt and its accuracy, and its articulation and engineering. whether they do this with a 2003 release or if they completely revamp it in a re-release (Kind of hoping for both) it's gonna be worth it. cause this really is a beautiful design, and considering it was the offspring of the heisei design (which we all know Tamashii loves to death) they really should do it a bit more justice. but until that ever happens, I'll hold what we got as one of my favorites. And great review by the way.
the hand of my figure came out of the box popped of and i can't seem to put it back i really don't want to refund it since it takes a long time for it to ship.
Only thing held me back from this figure is that damn neck. Never licked that splayed out look in the suit. I'm not sure if there is another design like this in the movies. Maybe millennium a bit but not as exaggerated as this
I think your eyes/teeth look better than mine! But regardless, I do love this design enough and this figure as well. Just a damn shame that the price is a bit much but eh, what can we do? Awesome review Steven!
From the future here! Are u aware they did a reissue of G 2002 and G 54? They 3d printed the eyes on 2002 this time and fixed 54's odd eyeballs and added more of a wet color to his body.
If you wanna keep that ball joint from popping out I would cover the ball joint with toilet paper and then plug the arm back in and after that it’ll be very stiff and tight same for the leg
I would like to see a new sculpt that isn't a Godzilla. Because, when you think about, during these past 4 years, every new sculpts has been a Godzilla...
My bysepce swivels won’t work they are like rocks and if I bend them somewhere too up or too back it falls off for no reason, his is ok I’m sad about mine
