    Great video, I have been eyeing this unit since it first launched but don’t have the budget for it yet. One day I hope to get one ❤

    Why is the stereo field always more dynamic and less flat with hardware? I don’t understand what causes this

      That s a great question. Think it might be something to do with L R signals being physically split in the converters to the Hardware...

      @@RapidFlow_Shop yep. In future tests, run a D/A-A/D converter loopback before the plugin.

      @@RealHomeRecording 🤫 the analog enthusiast will hear the sonic differences are immensely similar. Making the plugin better 🔥

    The sides are quieter and middle is louder in the hardware version -- that's pretty much how most analog hardware sounds compared to their plugin counterparts; and this can be offset with some simple mid/side volume adjustments. I would still prefer the hardware version if I could afford one since there seems to be more transient depth and low end.

      Thats a really interesting feedback, will experiment with this a bit....

      @@RapidFlow_Shop Well, also take into consideration, the audio from your video is being converted to a 160 kbps Opus stream (because of TH-cam) so there is some extra compromise to what I'm hearing. But yes, over the years, I hear analog hardware that way -- more solid/louder center, quieter sides, better transients and depth, than their digital versions. This is only if both versions are very very close to each other, and the differences can be quite minute (tenths of a dB). Sometimes the difference is just obvious the digital version is worse. Note that if both the hardware/digital versions are using widening or is in dual mono (or stereo is unlinked) -- then this becomes harder for me to differentiate between the two. After that, the difference might narrow down to just which has better transients and/or depth. From what I've seen over time, about 66% of listeners prefer the hardware over software when they can hear a good level-matched comparison between the two.

      @@Jrel thanks for your interesting comments, I definitely need to wrap my head around mid/side more to fully understand the principle. Work to be done ✔️ 😊

    The plugin seems to make things a bit more 'gluggy' in the dynamics, the hardware maintained the dyamnics better IMO, but it could just be settings discrepancy

    The hardware has that extra 3D analog thing.... But the plugin is very very good. You have the oversampling cranked?

    • @RapidFlow_Shop
      @RapidFlow_Shop  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      All settings on plugin were shown at the start of the video. No user tweakabls oversampling to my knowledge but not sure what s happening under the hood…

    hi great video..i see yo have console 1 mk2 version..do u use that console 1 everytime when you mix?is it worth it getting one for mixing ??

    • @RapidFlow_Shop
      @RapidFlow_Shop  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It depends a bit. The console 1 plugin is essential for my workflow, it s on every channel.jn my template. But I don't use the controller all the time. Only when doing the final mixdown. For.productikn I just use the plugin as desktop space is rare...

      @@ramspencer5492 I have the MKI, but the software sounds at least as good, wile offering more options. It's more useful than the hardware.
      Or I could be the usual douchebag and say "hardware is a lot more warm, with better transient responde, more 3d and with more width". But that usually means nothing, so I won't do it.

    To me if u push the hw bullet into cranesong solaris or lavry gold the plugin will sound small also it depends on genre.This genre has no dynamics so here anything even daw plugin will sound okayish ..However we have plugins befayse we save money space and maintenance and electricity.So plugin wins anytime ppl forget that is all about the cost. Nobody is caring about th4 same.Excepct some cretins which have nothing better to do

    • @RapidFlow_Shop

      I agree that with good converters the hardware sounds wider and more "elegant" if that means something. Having said the the plugin is one of the closest emulations of HW I have heard!
