Going from a 13.5 to a 12.7 by adding a supercharger? 😅😅 I think we can do a lot better than that once we get both of the rear wheels spinning. What did you think of Zoeii’s first 1/4 mile times on the new setup??

This is really Impressive given the few mods you've done to take that much time off. Definitely weld that diff and get you some tires. Btw your driving was amazing and shifts were spot on!
It's good to watch a car channel like this where they build the car and actually take it somewhere (autocross, drag race, etc.) to see how it performs. Good stuff.
I have an open diff too in my GTI, and the brake vectoring fake diff stuff is disabled. It took some dialing in, and you have to have good tires for it, but at the track you should consider adjusting the tire pressure opposite to the weight on each side. So, driver weight on the left, you keep spinning the rear right, I keep spinning the front right. I took my slicks from even, to now running 11.5 in the front left and 10.5 front right hot, and now both have even slip percents on launch. On the street, I do 22 in the front left and 20 in the front right on my radials and get the same results, both will spin as long as the car is settled in a straight line. The little things we sadly have to think about until we get LSD's in the car 🤣 but after spending the time playing around with pressures, it took me all the way to some record times even though I have an open diff non performance pack car. Takes a lot more trial and error/experimentation though, and a diff is definitely still better even in a straight line for any surface inconsistencies for instance. Luckily consistency left to right side wise, the track is pretty consistent, so you can toy around with the pressures and make it work.
@@Zorbii 👌🏻 good luck! Open diff only takes the easier path if it's actually easier, and the drag strip is one of the few places with a consistent enough surface that you can do something about that with pressures. How well it works will also depend on how your tires respond to changing pressure too of course. Only one way to find out. Remember to check your pressures hot after a pass too. If you're spinning the right rear that pressure will keep climbing and the traction difference will get worse and worse, especially if you're not on a drag compound tire that is really looking for more heat and not just getting greasy... Doubly so if you have the car cambered for track use and higher pressures are giving you less and less contact patch.
@@Zorbii Also, what I've heard is that these Z's tend to toe out hard while squatting on launch, when the suspension compresses. You might find toeing in the rear a little bit for drag racing will help keep them pointing forward, not fighting against themselves. But run that by someone who knows the platform better, I'm just going off hearsay there. My gti toes out on launch when the suspension extends, toeing in by half a degree compared to before helped me get a consistent free half a tenth in the 60', a free tenth in the quarter.
