    This is scary accurate.
    I typically start off a song with a drop idea, and most times when I do this, the song gets completed. (woohoo)
    Though I never thought of literally starting at the second drop, and working my way back. This is a fantastic video, thank you!

    On a similar note I would say something that helped me is planning ahead not just aimlessly opening synths and hoping for magic to come.
    I’ll use midi clips to try to come up with a foundational idea that I can visually see and then I try creating that idea.
    By trying to plan ahead whether it’s by closing your eyes and imagining the chord progression and ear candies or this way, if you have some sort of direction where you’re heading it really helps!

      I agree, exactly the same. I do this by accident some times and it works amazingly.. Then next time I sit and start, kick, snare, hats, bass, melodic part.. Loop, boredom, try arrange then delete or start a new track.. 🤣 crazy when you here it out loud and now I'm conscious of my bad habbit. The part about the habit of being a music listener over producer helped it click for me.

    In Greece many new songs have over +2,+3 True Peak. -8 LUFS are ok but for greek pop or greek laiko over -7LUFS integrated is awful. Also they use the templates of Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish, hard centered bass and lack of dynamics, lack of high end.

    you're not wrong, but Dubstep loves being backwards, because people generally only care about the first drop. Same with the DJs

    • @HypeBeast764
      @HypeBeast764 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      This isn’t true at all. What the hell are you even talking about? Do you even DJ?

    • @greedokenobi3855
      @greedokenobi3855 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      @@HypeBeast764I think there is some truth in there. Many DJs will only play one drop per song before transitioning to the next, in most cases that’ll be the first drop. It’s not a per se or an absolute but it is a thing. As for listeners on streaming platforms (or DJs looking for songs to add to their set) they will often (quite impatiently) ‘scroll’ thru tracks to see if it speaks to them, if the first drop isn’t to their liking they’ll most likely just skip the rest and start playing the next song. And that’s the big difference between a movie and a song (allthough I still like TCA’s analogy to a huge degree). So I see the OP’s point. The first drop should essentially (also) be ‘the best one’ (or at least just as good as the second or last one) because in many scenarios the world won’t wait for the song to reach it’s climax to become ‘great’.
      It is kinda sad in a way but that is the impatient digital era we live in.
      I also tend to believe that usually when labels listen to ‘demos’ to see if there are songs with potential to be interesting for release they’ll also be ‘impatient’ and won’t have time to listen to full songs unless the first part of the song grabs them.

    • @XpiredUK
      @XpiredUK 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@HypeBeast764 I'm speaking Dubstep DJs specifically, it may as well be intro, drop, breakdown/mix, rinse and repeat. You might get a double drop but, most likely won't. How often do you get to the 2nd drop of a Dubstep tune and say 'that was better than the first!"? Extremely rarely, hence why, it's generally just the first drop people care about. Finished your hissy fit now? Good

    • @XpiredUK
      @XpiredUK 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@greedokenobi3855 oh no 100% even I don't always go for the first drop if it's not as pumping as the 2nd. These days people want the heaviest, most distorted, nonsensical drop possible. And it's stupid. But, that's how it be, I bet you that if we were to make tunes with this videos tips in mind, I almost guarantee you someone will say the 2nd drop should be the 1st, or the 1st isn't as good as the second, something like that. Been there, done that 😂 in fact a lot of my tunes have fair better 2nd drops than the first, and guess what? Absolutely nothing has come of it, people haven't even really commented or mentioned it, because most of them don't even get that far! It's stupid, I know, but that the way of the world at the moment unfortunately :/

    • @greedokenobi3855
      @greedokenobi3855 2 หลายเดือนก่อน
