I try to watch are free version of Charles Dickens A Christmas Carol that I can find every Christmas, and this is always one of those that are my favorite.
It’s definitely up there with one of the best. I couldn’t name you one that I think is best. But I would definitely have this as a top 3. Michael Cain definitely smashed this role, I couldn’t imagine anyone else playing it.
This movie is so good, that I think (imo of course), if this were the only Muppet media in existence it would still be as popular, or even more popular than it is. It could stand alone from the Muppets.
Not to mention bob/kermit's speech about life is full of meetings and partings. While i believe some of the text is taken from the original story, it was a very lovely tribute to Jim Henson and you can even see the sadness from his death reflected in how the muppets are acting in that scene. Especially Miss Piggy
Fortunately, the extended version was, or rather is, indeed on the 2005 Anniversary Edition DVD. Since I went from the VHS straight to that version of the DVD, I've never had to watch the version where the song was cut. Last year was the first time I watched the HD version on streaming (Disney+), but by that time, they already had the extended version on there in HD. I still didn't have to watch the cut version. 😅

I used to get so scared by the Jacob and Robert Marley scene when I was a kid. This is still my favorite christmas movie
I’ve watched it every single year since its release!! And now it’s a tradition to watch on Christmas Eve before bedtime with my daughter 😊
I LOVE this film, but I always fast forwarded the Belle song on the vhs tape. Hated it 😅
It's your fault !!!! Ha ha
