  • Today I do an IN DEPTH Review of the COLUMBIA FACET 75 MID Shoes - Having worn them to the top of the TALLEST POINT IN NORTH AFRICA and up and down multiple MOUNTAINS in SNOWDONIA; I feel extremely well experienced to be chatting about these new shoes. Is it time to throw out your hiking boots? Maybe!
These shoes are a combination of Trail Running Shoes and Hiking Boots and they are really really comfortable to wear. I've loved testing them out and I shall indeed be continuing to wear them for time to come! Chloe loves her pair too, we wear them out on walks together regularly!

Thanks for the review! I wanted to know if the insole are removable and if they are breathable and you answer my questions :). Have you used them for walking in town? They look like great polyvalent shoes for a trip to South America.

Hi! What do you think, which version of this boots are better - high legs or short version? And another question - aren't they too warm for summer hiking?

Maybe the question is not the right one for your channel but I see that you know a lot about it and I will dare to throw it .... What I'm looking for is a mid-cut boot that is very comfortable and light to use it in the city and to do some hiking, I care much that they are comfortable as the Adidas free Hiker 2 that seem expensive ... tb there are options in Columbia, Merrel, North Face, etc etc .... I do not need them for professional mountain but as for walking in the city and outdoors. What model do you recommend and what brand? THANK YOU!!!
P.S: I was thinking about the Adidas free hiker 2 gore-tex mid ...

I’m looking for a shoe for frequent water crossings and just getting wet in general because they are waterproof will they take forever to dry out?

5 weeks and it's started to frail? does that sound acceptable? I ordered them and I will mostly use them to walk on gravel and city streets with my dog

I don’t think serious hikers are bothered about being ‘fashionable’ 🙄, and fraying after 5 weeks! I’ve had hiking trainers that have lasted 3 - 4 years and have cost under £50.

Have you tried the low version of the facet 75 too or just the mid? I am worried the mid will rub on my ankle, can’t decide between the two!

I haven’t I’m afraid!! We haven’t experienced any kind of rubbing in the highs though! Would highly recommend 👌

@@DavidPMcEntee thanks so much! Were these gifted/sponsored or did you purchase them yourself? Just trying to choose a pair for a hiking holiday and want to invest in a decent pair that’ll last me for ages!

    Are these complete waterproof ?

I think yourself and other reviews are being a bit kind on what is a £100+ pair of high quality footwear and it coming apart after 5 weeks. Another reviewer had the same issue after only 1 week. I have a few pairs of walking boots and £100+ trainer/trail shoes and non of them have any signs of wear after a much longer period. If they were mine and I'd paid full price they would be going back under warrantee for repair/replacement and if it happened again in such short time I would be seeking an alternative.

I have the peak freak 2 trainer boots a bit like these. You are right they aren’t that waterproof. I used them for the west highland way, walking 20+miles a day. They are light but the soles are thin at the base of the foot and you feel every rock and pebble underfoot.
These look like the latest version or revamp of those.
Good video/review. Think I’ll go for different footwear though

For ‘old people’? That’s funny, all the best mountaineers wear boots! Hope they have their bus passes with them to get to the mountains. 🤣
