Fros is difficult, but if you can take them out early, you can win. It's not hard to take out two Pokemon as they only have 90 HP (frosslass + what they feed me) and I can usually get an attack off before they get their big pokemon evolved. 1 strat I employee to boss up a frosslass, ko it and do the second damage to whatever else is put up. Often times that allows me to take out two or three prizes the next turn: damaged big boy and next frosslass.
On the festival lead decks, been playing the festival engine in decidueye ex. You get a board on goldeen and 3ach turn you can escape with decidueye get your searches then retreat back out.
I’ve been playing this a lot, I play a 3,2 rellor to make snipe and spread decks a more favorable matchup, but also because dipplin needs so many Pokémon in play. The extra basics always keep the damage high
I used this deck a while back, slightly different decklist. Used it again recently and actually got basically shut down turn 1 as my opponent's starting active was Flutter Mane... So instantly shut down Festival Lead and prevented me from using Boom Boom or double attacks. (Not to mention I have the WORST luck when it comes to ANY match I play and brick 9 times out of 10...)
Yeah, Flutter Mane is a nuisance. If you can get canceling cologne to turn off flutter mane though, you should be good to go. But I do get those bad RNG days a lot. And not just for one game, but sometimes, like you said 9 out of 10 games. What I do is just stop playing for a bit so I don't get too frustrated, then just try again.
feel like the only thing this deck is missing is a Eternatus Vmax ability that lets you extend the bench. Doubt we will get one anytime soon but it'd be fun.
I recommend playing a Goldeen just in case and Roseanne to get that maximum belt and a stadium back. Like you, I also run two Boss and one counter as I don't find myself behind in prizes often. I usually just boss around cornerstone ogerpon with no problem. 2 Boss + pal pad is 4 Boss. The other option is just run Rillaboom. I like your cologne option as well. Something else you might consider is Lana over fishing rod to get the Pokemon directly to your hand. I run one of each. You can get a full dipplin line back to your hand with it for one or less uses of Thwacky. I run one Lana one rod.
I dont like goldeen cuz you have to dedicate too many cards (goldeen and rescue board) just for a niche scenario and you could just cut those for more consistency Lanas aid is a awesome tech that saved me multiple times but you can go either way with 2 super rod or 1-1 of each I have been debating whether to choose roseanne, a 4th poffin, lost vac or enhanced hammer for my deck cuz I have a slot in my deck for one of those four (rn im playing roseanne which saved me in one game)

Every time I used that card I ended up regretting what I had to throw away because it cost me to use resources / boom boom grooves just to get them back instead of focusing on the attack. I think Cynthia or Marty or some other supporter to draw cards without trashing is better. That last buddy buddy could help too. I play 4 cuz I want them in the first or second turn, but as you said Arven helps out. Granted, research gives good setup consistency, but I paid the price for it in like three or four games, so I nixed it. Your car is so good, so it's really up to preference.

Probably a rhetorical question but after NAIC and VSing it 1st hand, I can tell you. Well technically it wasn't pure festival but a mix of ogerpons, sinistcha ex, and some festival cards. Make of that what you will. Despite having type disadvantage, it looked difficult to set up. Maybe if they could fit thwackey, their consistency would be better. If it weren't for the bigger bodies I mentioned, then the entire deck would be glass cannons. Even ancient box has the potential to survive one hit.
@@PopsicleKnight welcome. I also have some experience with using the deck but I wasn't sure how to put it in my initial comment. I have done the pure build and most of what I said still applies. Thwackey being a soft once per turn searcher is definitely a great advantage but it shares the same problems as dipplin and then some. Another problem I didn't mention with the deck was that cornerstone ogerpon stops it dead in its tracks. The saving grace for that would be rillaboom but if you only have one copy and it's prized, you're done for.
Maximum Belt is great, but I’ve found Hyper Aroma to be way more useful. I only use Maximum Belt against ex decks, whereas I use Hyper Aroma almost every game on T2 to achieve an instant full setup and then I’m off to the races. It’s an INCREDIBLE consistency booster in conjunction with Arven.
I like that Hyper Aroma is searchable via Arven, which can also grab a tool. I also run one copy of TM Evolution because of Arven and the double whammy means that I can always set up on T2 so long as I got basics in play on T1. Any tips for consistently flooding the field with basics on T1? I already run 4 Poffin and 4 Bug Catcher but I still don’t see them in my opening hand as often as I’d like

I'm running it with Skeledirge EX and was using hyper aroma cause I thought Maximum belt wouldn't hit any special numbers but I forgot about Kieran. With All 3 you can hit 240 twice on EXs which can decimate Raging Bolt EX, gonna give it a try now!

I play the new pinsir as a tech card to get rid of problem pokemon as it can kill anything in the game for just 2 energy (as long as they don't switch 😂) If that fails my backup is bloodmoon ursaluna
Do the wave = 200 Vitality + do the wave = 110 * 2 = 220 (pao, giratina v, raikou v, cramorant, miraidon ex, charmed snorlax, ogerpon, etc.) Kieran + do the wave = 260 (hands, thorns, stage 1 exs, entei v, raikou v) Kieran + do the wave + vitality = 280 (lugia, pidgeot, tina vstar, arceus vstar) Kieran + do the wave + defiance band = 320 (dragapult, garde ex, luxray ex) Kieran + do the wave + max belt = 360 (palafin ex, caped ex basics) Why would anyone need more power than that? It hits every number it needs. Only debate is the belt vs another ace spec, but there are still ways to hit 320

Why cologne over rillaboom? Rillaboom serves the same purpose but is easier to grab and can be a good backup attacker just in case. Also this deck is so underrated and got me sooo many wins no idea why no ones playing it
I thought about adding Rillaboom, but the second attack is not workable since it requires a lot of evergy. And it's first attack doesn't do much damage to make a difference.
I don't fully agree, cause the mons in ancient box are either weak to dipplin's attack (like moon) or they don't have enough HP (like flutter mane). So if you're carefull you'll have a new dipplin ready to go every new turn and you can just bump the pokéstop with your stadium through boom boom groove. And even if all your stadium cards are gone, I play at least 1 roseanne's backup so I can get a stadium back. I think that dipplin should easily be able to win.
Roaring Moon is weak against grass. However, if they utilize Flutter Mane strategically, they actually have a good chance of winning against this build, especially if you cannot use your ability.

Pokestop has nothing to do with the MU, trying to outrun the stadium count is a poor strategy vs festival. They always have one and can recycle them at will.
If festival runs stamp + eri (which they should), the mu is free as long as you can set-up, but lost box is so slow, you will pull through. Not even sableye is a threat dueto 2-2 rabsca i have seen people play commonly
The game you had against Dragapult is the reason I run a 2-2 Rabsca line haha.

There is a staium coming soon in a new set that can expand the bench. But yeah, it would be broken.

I'm thinking if you can inflict special conditions, you can add extra damage, but not by the attack alone.

See what you are saying. Hit them for 60 first time. They can’t knock you out and finish them afterwards. Will replace cologne with it.

Rillaboom shuts the engine down. You can't search while it is on the active
