    I think renting is the way to go as a foreigner. You have the ability to try many properties and locations around Thailand and S.E Asia and the cost is very reasonable without committing to one spot.

      Funny I was doing the maths on that today. I bought my unit in 2011 for 4.15m. Working out an average rent of 23k per month I would have paid out just over 3.3m. I bought off plan. I can't imagine moving to anywhere else. I also like being able to make the unit the way I like. I do think there are pros and cons to each side, but I think if your plan is long term the purchase route makes more financial sense 🙏🙏

      @@DavidAndNong David, have there ever been any Thai movements, political or social, that seek to limit foreigner influences? My concern about dropping bucks on long-term accomidations would be should there be a political ground-swell to prevent foreign ownership and or influence in their country; nationalist movements pick up momentum from time to time. But, Jez, that unit and site is absolute heaven-on-earth. I'd be more than happy to walk that beach for the rest of my days. What a dream.

      Enjoyed the video. If only I was a rich man. Have you any plans to show any affordable rental condos in Pratumnak? After many visits to Pattaya only discovered that fabulous beach and the Pratumnak area on my last visit. Will return for sure and would love to live there.

      My thoughts, and really just how I feel. Tourism and property ownership in Thailand has played a massive part in the growth of this country. Covid made that even more apparent. Personally I have no qualms, but it's what you think and feel that matters. I don't lose any sleep at night over it with both my Mum and I owning our units here 🙏🙏

      Yep . Was in soi 5 for 3 months last winter. First week I walked all the way to Jomtien to get the baht bus , but quickly changed that to a shorter walk up and later even hired an electric bike. Good region with a few good resto's . Will try next winter to stay again 3 months , maybe more if immigration allows it.

      Land prices pretty much dictate everything in connection to property prices here. A typical 1 Rai (1600 sqm) plot in Pratumnak starts at 50 million baht. To build a condo (with the % of green area that is required now) a 2 Rai plot is required. These are as rare as hens back teeth. That along with the beachfront location make this one of the uppermost premium locations. Central Pattaya is higher of course, with a 1 Rai plot on Soi 7 costing 88 million thb. (That was the price 8 years ago). Some of the new builds in Jomtien are asking way over the price per sqm, that this place demands, for, in my opinion a much less desirable location. 🙏🙏

    • @DavidAndNong
      @DavidAndNong  ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a common issue with tall buildings, some box in the bedroom but I think this way is pretty innovative. You wake up to the fantastic views direct from your bed. Some owners put curtains up inside, there was also an option to put in glass that turned dark with the flick of a switch (think tomorrow's world) but it was pretty costly 🙏🙏

      @@timwalker2458Everyone has different priorities and a budget. Put them together and you pick the best place you can. If 5.7m is your budget, you’re priority is a fantastic sea view in a quality build then this place ticks the boxes. In addition to that it’s a great location for those who want to be outside of the manic Pattaya but close enough to enjoy when they want.
      Obviously, if you’re priority is windows and bigger living space there are plenty of other condos that tick the boxes that are older and more inland.
