    I made this out of plastic grocery bags that I recycled into yarn! (I'm 13 and live with my dad who won't switch to reusable, so I found another way lol). This pattern was easy to follow as a beginner, and I 100% recommend it.

    This was the first thing I’ve ever crocheted and it came out great thanks to this wonderful tutorial! It’s a REALLY big bag, so it’s great for beach trips/vacations. I saw people asking how much yarn to get; I ended up using over 600 yards.

    Can you make this bag Bigger? And if so would you train more than 51?

    • @forthefrills
      @forthefrills  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, you could make this bag bigger by chaining more than 51 but afterwards all of your st counts will change as you work around the perimeter of the bag and when working the mesh portion so I can't guarantee that it will all work out. If you want to alter this bag, I'd suggest chaining an odd number of chains and then when working around the perimeter of the rectangle you should have an even number of stitches at the end of your first round. Also take into account that you'll need to change the handle placement (if you want the handles to be perfectly in the centre). I hope this helps, Grace :)

    • @forthefrills
      @forthefrills  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, it sounds like you might be adding an extra stitch at the end of every round. The space by the turning chain isn't a stitch! Make sure to count your stitches so that you still have the same amount. Alternatively, you could be crocheting with looser tension (how tightly you hold your yarn) and that can also cause the sides not to form.
      I hope this helps,
      Grace

      Oops I just saw your other comment! By using DC do you mean you are using DC for the base? If so, when stitching around the edge of the rectangle the number of stitches along the sides of the rectangle might change due to DC being wider than SC. Either way, still make sure to place 3 stitches (either SC or DC) in each corner so that the sides of the bag have a nice shape to them :)

    You are beautiful thank you :') .. I am a beginner, can you tell me what seaming mean and what used for to help me understand better? Thanks a lot ^^

    • @forthefrills
      @forthefrills  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, Seaming means sewing different pieces together at the end to create your final item. Since this pattern doesn't have seaming it means that the entire bag is created in one piece :) I hope this helps!

    I'm at row 32 and I noticed that my seam isn't straight. Will this be a problem for the handles? How do I keep it straight?

    • @forthefrills
      @forthefrills  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Caitlin, the seam angle shouldn't be a problem for the handles. If you want to keep your seam straight just turn your work after every round. If you do so, your stitches will look different to the bag in the video since both the 'right' sides and 'wrong' sides of the stitch will be visible but it isn't a big difference. Grace :)
