the most honest video yet. thank you. ramps heavy. ambulatory wheelchair users need to be able to do it alone. At 69 it's not a time for me to start driving with a thing on the back of my car which also takes away my back up camera. I need to leave the house. I have a 40 pound expensive wheelchair and it needs to be quick in and out or I won't use it. thanks for honesty. subscribed. it seems you best understand the issues. Tired of able bodied men demonstrating saying "simple" easy etc. while they are lifting and bending. thanks
You are correct, mobility products should make your life easier. There are wayyyy too many of these Mobility Stores with fit and healthy people demonstrating how easy and light weight their products are. Try doing it day in day out in 120 deg sunshine, you'll do one of two things: give up doing it or hurt yourself. As for back-up cameras on vehicles Harmar (not sure when it will be released) are making a back-up camera adaptor for their outside lifts so you don't have to lose that feature which is a thumbs up from me and will be doing a video on it as soon as I get an order for one to be installed.
This was a great and informative video. I like your casual and detailed approach to your subject matter. Thank you very much for clarifying a number of questions that I had regarding the varied types of scooter and wheelchair lifts.
Oh yes, I've been installing lifts since 2014 and I've never had a case of melted electronics due to heat but have seen melted wiring from rear exit exhausts. Oh and other horror stories too from poor installations (not mine) I've got a customer who bought one of our first external lifts back in 2014 (Pride Power Tote Mini) and it's still going strong.
I am a shop supervisor for a DME / HME dealer. Have you had issues with AL6000? I've used harmar for years and have never had the troubles I'm having now.
Hey Barry, great question, a lot of people have that mindset "it's just a bunch of parts right!" Maybe it's the engineering research and development that goes in taking a concept through to development. Then prototyping and testing different grades of steel, electronics, stress testing and the overall function of unit itself etc. Not to even think about the legal testing in the UK and EU. Government health and safety inspection testing and approval. Also the testing of every year, make and model of vehicle, and every year make and model of scooter, power wheelchair or manual wheelchair that the lift can accommodate in size and weight! God forbid someone was to get hurt by using a bunch of parts just banged together in some back road warehouse. Being sued is a manufactures last thing they want, so I guess that's why it costs so much. Small price to pay for you freedom of movement.

Will an electric ramp’s electric components survive outside an SUV in the hot Las Vegas weather?

To be honest we've only installed the one and I've heard nothing back from the customer. Have you reached out to Harmar?
I’m in Uk why do boot hoists cost £1700 is when it’s just a bit of steel and a 40kg motor
