I keep my motor home full with gas always because you never know when an emergency comes up like electrical outage. I got a Leprechaun 23Qb RV in 2019 from El Monte RV. I was going to buy from Cruise America but I like the price I got which included a gas range with oven, motorized awning, roof ladder, TV and DVD in front with TV hookups in bed area. price included 12,000 mile 12 month warranty which is expired now. We did travel across the country last summer. Your motor home has an advantage because of length and bedroom. I hope you have fun with little problems.

That microwave should be a convection microwave so it can cook like a regular oven. If you had a regular gas oven they are very small but also you'd lose some storage.

Thank you for this. I have been looking at these myself for my dog and I. Watching you getting settled with this has moved me a bit closer to taking the plunge. Stay well and happy travels.

I would recommend looking at both Cruise America and El Monte RV. I was going to but from Cruise america, put a deposit down but on the way to look at model I had chosen I stopped buy El Monte RV and changed my mind. I got a 23qb Leprechaun 2016 from El Monte because it had everything I wanted an awning, roof ladder, stove with oven TV plus DVD and antenna, TV outlet in sleeping area and new mattress.

@@lashturner , I ended up buying a really old, '93 Winnebago Brave that seems pretty solid. I only paid $5000 for it; generator, a/c, appliances all work well. I wanted a newer one, but couldn't get a loan. It will do for now. Now to find a state park that still has spots available. They are mostly filled up here in the U.P. of Michigan.

Tim VanderVeen I’ve heard parks don’t let in rvs that are over 10 years.., have you had any issues? We are just starting to explore options

    • @timhvv

@@hereiknowmyself-jeaniealks377 I confess I've still not had it out on the road yet as I fix a few things and improve on the motorhome since I bought it. I still have to replace a very cracked windshield on the driver's side and hope to get that done within the next week. For now I get to hold onto the $1700 plus dollars that will cost me. I tend to look for small townshp parks where an honor system might be in place; put money in a box or jar to pay for the night. There are several on the way to Green Bay from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan that are quiet and secuded and right on the sandy beaches of Lake Michigan.

Awesome! We love our 28A, feels just like a tiny apartment lol. I'm in the process of upgrading the stereo head unit at the moment. If you haven't seen it, check out our Tahoe video where we show the "moved in" and updated interior. In addition to the showerhead, we recently upgraded to a super nice Dura-faucet with the detachable sprayer. If you are hungry for more power and torque, check out the 5star tuning flash tuner. It was a worthwhile upgrade for us since we are fully loaded up, tow our truck, and drive some diverse terrain. We may have even gotten a slight bump in mpgs.

Hi! Great video! Can I ask why you decided on the 30ft rather than 25ft? We are in the middle of deciding between the 2? Thanks!

    • @MoorExpeditions
      @MoorExpeditions  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

Hi there! For these Thor models specifically, we initially wanted the 25 ft model, but we were planning on towing our Tacoma so we needed the V10 and increased towing capacity. The 25ft E-350 model only comes with the V8 and a dip in the overall towing capacity. We actually really enjoy the E-450 30ft model that we have because you get more overall storage and it has somewhat of a "bedroom" area. The bed is also a walkaround which is nice.

    Looks great guys.
    Wondering how much you spent.
I’m in Toronto Canada ,and I’m thinking to buy a rv at cruise Canada.
What can you tell me about purchasing a rv from them but in Canada.😊

Nice video pretty detailed. My question is, "Did you test all the equipment such as the generator, stove, microwave etc, before you left the lot? Is there any buyer's remorse?

    • @MoorExpeditions
      @MoorExpeditions  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

Good question! We did test most everything with the salesman. They have them hooked up to the shoreline power on the lot, but they should show you how to start the generator. No buyer's remorse simply for the price point and the fact that we haven't had any major issues yet. It's not perfect, but once you accept that you are getting a well-used rig, you'll enjoy it.

What has happened to the Majestic, is it still running? I have enjoyed watching this and the many videos about folks buying and starting off in their CA Majestics. I am curious how the CA Majestic holds up regarding additional miles. Did you purchase warranty? Any info regarding response to warranty claims? Looking to do some extended summer trips.

Thanks for the great video. I appreciate you opening all the doors and storage areas. I do have a few questions,
Outside, you showed the battery compartment, but I couldn't tell what size of battery and how many where in there. Could you tell me the Group size and quantity? And if there is only one, do you think a second one would fit?
Are there any 12 volt outlets in the back by the bed?
What are the actual dimensions of the bed? Do you think a full size queen mattress would fit in the space?
I noticed that all the roof vents (except the bathroom) were non powered. Are you aware if 12 volt is close by the front and rear vents so that you could add a powered vent?
And lastly, were you able to negotiate a lower price than CA actually advertised for the unit? You don't have to provide actual numbers (but I wouldn't mind if you did), but I'm just wondering how flexible they are on price.
I look forward to your adventures, so I just subscribed!

O hi Mark! Thank you for watching and commenting.
The battery is a single 31 Group AGM deep cycle. There's a little room side-to-side but not enough for dual batteries. That has been an upgrade that I've thought about actually, but right now, we don't do a ton of boondocking. It does appear that you could potential fit a larger tray since there seems to be some real estate back there, but it may require some custom work/creative solutions.
No 12V outlets that we've found. Everything outlet-wise seems to run on the 110/120v power system which requires the generator or shoreline power. There are household outlets back there though. 2 on each lower corner of the bed and one more in the driver's side back corner.
It's your standard short queen bed. I don't remember the actual dimensions, but very common in the RV world. I think they run about 6 inches shorter than a true queen bed. No issue for me at 5'11".
I assume you are referring to the power fan in the bathroom vent. There are 12V ceiling lights next to the bedroom and cab-over vents. Those are probably the closest sources for 12V. Most RVs only come with fans in the bathroom/shower areas to vent moisture and odors.
Honestly, we weren't really sure about negotiating a lower price since Cruise America prices these from corporate based on condition, miles, and inspection. There's also nothing to go off of to lower the price. They are going to be priced much lower than NADA values and other used RVs around. We still feel like we got a good price and may have been more open to negotiating if they weren't running a larger discount promo.
Hope that helps. Thanks for following!

Just backed out of my CA purchase today
Seems all they do is paint them to hide any imperfections.
More or less a "polished turd"
Painting them hides imperfections & subpar repairs performed to the coach during its service life.
They have no actual mechanics or RV technicians work on these,.
The are essentially low wage lube techs who can change oil.
The inside of the coach I was going to by had about 25 things missed during "THEIR EXTENSIVE 110 point inspection" including
    -a leaky gray water tank
    -broken window,
    -dangling connectors, and
    -rips in the upholstery,
    -bottom of closet falling out,
-numerous missing screws for windows & trim,
    -crack in the shower pan..............
"refurbished" is not what they do.
Seems highly deceptive to naive buyers who do not know what to look for and DO NOT have the time to inspect every thing, because they are trusting that Cruise America is doing this for them....
VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH MY EXPERIENCE AT CRUISE AMERICA SALES
    BUYER BEWARE!!!
    DO YOUR HOME WORK
    LOOK OVER THOROUGHLY
COME BACK MULTIPLE TIMES & GET A PRO INSPECTION

Unfortunately it's not for everyone. Even brand new units have taken a hit in quality control. It was a great starter rig for us and you really have to know what you are getting by buying a high mileage previous rental.
