This is the best design the Neo have made IMO. The copper/brass accent looks amazing and I love that it's present on all sides. The badge options on the back look great too.
Completely blown away by how Neo is handling and evolving their projects, specially after testing 2 Neo80 with different configurations. As a brazilian “new” creator and hobbyist, this should be my first day-1 purchase and cannot wait to test the board out.
Neo is killing it lately! Really liking that they are stepping away from tons of different mounting styles on one board. Also another thing I was thinking, I've heard some grumbling that brands like Neo, QK, TKD, etc. are gonna push the smaller designers/companies out of the hobby because of the economies of scale (basically how Neo can offer such boards at such low prices). However I think it's quite the opposite. These boards will bring in a ton of newcomers to the hobby, which in turn a percentage of will stick around & want to get into more bespoke, smaller run boards. So ultimately these mass produced boards will widen the audience for those more bespoke designs IMO. Kind of a win win if you ask me.
People assume that because of the high volume of e-waste that comes out of china everything made there is trash but for a bit more money china cnc and speed of manufacturing is unmatched. I mean Apples entire cnc and ano is done and china and its QC is unmatched for its quantity.
I don’t usually go for silver boards but this looks so sharp with the copper + mecha kaiju. Also love that the F row just has the accent in the upper right instead of 75s that have 2 x 1u keys or an LCD in the upper right.
I just got my neo ergo and it's crazy how far the keyboard community has come. the build process is so fuggin easy and forgiving, and the overall package is just ridiculous value. It's hard to imagine back in 2018 paying $30usd for a tray mount 60
I've got too many Neo boards already, but I really want that cornflower color! I prefer exploded 75 layout, but the color is really groovy so that's the main draw for me.
Does exploded make a significant difference in the typing experience? I'm thinking of getting this as my first custom keyboard and I think I'd prefer exploded, but this seems like a very beginner-friendly build and bang for your buck
@@HumblyDumbly Overall I would say no, but it depends on how you type. If you touch type, it might require a small adjustment to get used to how things are clustered, but for most that's a minor thing. I have at least 2 compact 75s already, so it's just a strong preference thing for me.
That front typing height being so low means this is definitely buy for me... just picked up the Evo80 which has been a great board and I do love my Ergo as well, just wish they had separated the arrow keys. Great video!
Did you get the Neo? I was contemplating getting Evo80 but went with Bridge75 for it's slightly slimmer build (besides being 75% vs TKL) in terms of lower front height, and less aggressive typing angle. Matched with the angled bottom bezels that looks cool and seems like it might be comfy. I definitely prefer lower builds. Did the Evo80 come off as tall or big?
@@DreamingPhenom Yes, I picked up a blue/brass Neo75, FR4, Nixies and it perfectly matched my GMK Blue Samurai set. It's quite heavy but the angle is perfect. I love the Evo80 as well, put Xinhai Heavy as the Azure were a little light for me and PBTfan Sabarushi on it which matched perfectly. Don't get me wrong the included caps and swtiches were great, I just had the others and light a heavier linear. My primary board had been a QK75n for almost a year but after having the Neo75 for about 2 week it's become my #1. Actually selling a number of boards that I have picked up and tested because it seems 90% of the time there is a QK/Neo/Evo board on my desk. Running just the plate foam on the Neo75cu and it sounds amazing. I do have all the foams in the Evo80 with the HMX as they are loud. On the 75 I just wanted to hear the bottom out of the Nixies to drown out the scratch until they get more broken in.
I pre-ordered the 80, but who knows, I might cancel it and go for this one, however the 80 offers more mounting options. What I would really like Neo making is this board with the Zoom65 v3 mounting options, I'm really curious about spring, spring leafes and maglev.
Would have been sick if there was a way to build this plateless, but dang, that config with the PP plate sounds outstanding! Definitely an impressive price point given the materials! Great to see low front height too!
just built my first custom mechanical keyboard this year w/ the neo 65, absolutely in love with it. while the 75% is my favourite layout, unfortunately the ~$200 price point will just be too far out of my budget.
Glad that you can indeed have a key instead of a blocker. My favorite 75% layout as well. I may have to get this as my wife has basically stolen the only non-exploded 75.
I'm quite new still to the deep end of custom keyboards, currently I use a stock evo80 and I chose the oat switch/PP plate combination for my board. It sounds thocky and I like it, but I'm wondering how does one achieve this "clicky" sound profile? This doesn't exactly sound clacky to me, and I'm not sure how I would describe it
It's a beautiful board but I can't support ball catch attachment. I feel screws are more secure and aren't that troublesome to use. I have 3 QK boards but I can't support this trend with ball catch
Quite funny that their Neo keyboards are more "desirable" than the QK line, which is supposed to be one step higher. Capped at 230 for this is pretty insane.
Honestly really pretty board, starting price is quite a bit higher than the previous boards though and I’m still not a fan of the acoustics with ball-catch system
The board is fantasitic, and the price is definatly justified just wish they made cheaper configs. The whole appeal of Neo was cheap and solid keyboard, but this board is creeping past the QK boards in price. If this was the going to be the plan, I would have honesly perfered they kept Neo the budget option, and went all out on the QK line.

Nice, now they should rework the 80. I skipped it cuz it was not for me then ergo came, but now that we're seeing better design and neo finally not look like a neo, I am all for it! Top mount tho : / cmon lol..

And again a stupidly white PCB. Imho, PCBs that you can see „shining“ through your key caps is as popular as those bottom mounts mentioned earlier………..
