    A very good brief tutorial. I'll start putting this to practice on a regular basis. It's something that can be done easily on paper or on phone while being anywhere.

    Thought it might be nonsense as i was taught under the traditional perspective route, but actually broaden my horizon on how to be more flexible with shapes. Great video

      If you want to build up something existing, or draw something you have in mind from different angles, this is not recommended . However, yes it is a fun and creative technique to explore new forms. :)

    Hello, I'm already have o good trace but too much dificult to do those lines...Some tip to make it esyer?

    • @Thedesignsketchbook
      @Thedesignsketchbook  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The main tip to do such lines is to not be afraid to fail. You gotta fail at practicing, and iterate on top. With practice you will gain in accuracy. It's like practicing golf. You gotta train to find tune in your movement.
      To make fluid lines, you do not have to go fast neither accelerate. Make sure your movement has a regular speed. Hope it helps @arthur !

    is sketching a talent or a learnable skill that gets better with improvements ? 😓

    • @Thedesignsketchbook
      @Thedesignsketchbook  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Basmmallah Mohamed Sorry for the late response. (Sometime on TH-cam, I can't respond to some people's message, wonder why ?!) I have written an article on my blog about the Myth of innate talent. Feel free to have a look there. Hope it helps. www.thedesignsketchbook.com/the-myth-of-innate-talent/

    • @dkalambokis78
      @dkalambokis78 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Basically is both. Practicing is no1 element for succeeding on anything. Those who try hard and have fun at the same time, they gain the most out of it. And yes, it can live you if you live it - I had this problem when i joined the army, after a couple of years I could even hold the pencil :) So, practice your skill enough to be efficient and then keep it worm (or practice more!)
      But... what I personally realized is that the most of the work is done by mind. We're not talking about skilled fingers or improving our hands, its about improving our vision (eyes and brain). that's why most of the people can't achieve this sketching level (good job by the way DS :). This is where talent is hidden - brain function. Talent is not a myth, but it's not really the key for success. It's a tool that only few have, hard work is also a tool that only few have, etc, etc - skills are smth that many people can achieve, by using their own tools.

  • @gimlitheone
    @gimlitheone 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Wow, if i would show this to my drawing teacher, he would hit you.
    There is no way to cheat drawing. just practice, again and again...

    • @arax20
      @arax20 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is practice is it not? But practice with a purpose, a goal, an understanding of what you are doing.

    • @gimlitheone
      @gimlitheone 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Chantapat Sheanakul sure this is practice.
      But i was being taught that when you don't really understand how to build up a 3 dimensional form, do not stop using construction lines and basic form to achieve your final forms. imho this is not really constructing, but just guessing where the construction lines should be.
      Maybe i responded a little harsh, but this guy needs to improve his manner of constructing 3d forms first BEFORE explaining shit on TH-cam. If you don't understand subject matter, then how reliable are you as a teacher?

    • @gimlitheone
      @gimlitheone 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      you won't become a very professional drawer with that attitude.

    • @gimlitheone
      @gimlitheone 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      *****
      No it's not...what a weird comparison...
      I was talking about fundamentals. There are certain rules that you cannot avoid or cheat when drawing for design purposes. And since where talking about product design, you'll want your drawing to look as realistic as possible, right?
      If you miss the fundamentals, or it is being taught incorrectly, you will lose that realism and show your mistakes, like i see with the guy from the video.
      Since this guy does not understand the subject matter himself completely, why is he even bothering explaining it to others?

    • @gimlitheone
      @gimlitheone 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can't 'communicate' anything across if your perspective or other technical drawing skills aren't in order.
