I'm trying to decide between the Z150, Z90 and the NX80 for filming church services and a high school marching band, usually in low light on both. what would be your thoughts or recommendation? Will also be livestreaming.
Great review. I think I'm the target market for this camera, I have a sony prosumer cx760 camcorder and the z150 will get me to 4k with the familiarity of the Sony menu system. I've already got my Sennheiser AVX wireless lav to plug into the xlr port. I see a lot of people who are clearly experts in video pointing out the limitations of the camera which are valid. I have to say that getting the atamos hdr monitor for another 1200 isn't an option for someone like me (yet, I do enjoy video though). It sounds like the pro guys like you would prefer the Sony's in the 5-7k range which I can't touch. I do worry about the menu buttons. It wouldn't be good to fight the menu system every time I use the camera. I like your style and the quality of your presentation and content. Keep up the great stuff.
THanks. This is a very good camera and will serve you well. Sure, you can take it even higher with an external recorder, but the differences are minor compared to what the camera offers.
Solution for external monitor and camera to display at the same time while recording. No black screens. I don’t believe you can do this in 4K. You have to make sure your external monitor/recorder has all the same settings as your camera. I set my camera to record 1280x720 your external recorder/monitor and Sony camera LCD can both be displayed at the same time. Go to the camera menu. Select REC/OUT➡️ REC SET➡️ PROXY REC MODE➡️ SELECT ON. Hopefully this is useful.
@IEBAcom What if, if you use the internal monitor on camera and record on 1080p60 will be video signal on HDMI when you hit record button? Or this just happening only on 4K resolution?
Sometimes sharpness isn't the goal. I found the Sony to be "hypersharp" so if you're going for a softer cinematic look, then the extra sharp Sony may not be the better deal.
There is a sensor on the small viewfinder that switches automatically between it and the led when blocked. button 6 on side of viewfinder will turn it off.
who cares on the outputs? If you are using an Atomos to set exposure and/or record, then use it's output to send a feed to the front facing monitor for the client. This is really not a problem at all

I don't know, I don't know, and probably lots. I reviewed one camera, three years ago. I returned it to Sony and then went on to other things. I've never used an NX200.

Well since I couldn't afford the fs5 or 7 I really do enjoy my z150! I just wish it had 60p in 4k.
We all do.

What would be the differences between this and the z90 which one is newer dizi 90 or this one and is there anything going to be replacing the z90
I don't know. I'm not a reseller so I don't have access to all the Sony cameras.
Can I shoot a discussion panel with the camera 100’ from stage?
Of course. The better question is what kind of framing do you want to achieve from 100' away? Waide shot. Sure. 2-shot? probably. Close up? Maybe not.
great review I like the canon x f 205 or x f 305.
Thanks.
please i have the same camera but the moniter turn off when you turn the camera left or rigth
is it a faulty or
Might be, contact your local reseller.
is this good for wedding videography ?
nice review, i wonder, does the ls300 look as sharp as the z150? if so, its a better deal.

12x zoom on a 1 inch sensor? The Panasonic AG UX-180 has a 20x optical zoom and a 1 inch sensor!
Do you recommend the z90 over the z 150
It's been years since I reviewed this camera and returned it.
And which tripad is that you fix camera z150 plz share me
It's a bogen tripod with a 3rd party pistol grip.
Does the Z150 has a LANC port ?
Yes.

I can't. I return the cameras to the manufacturer when the review is finished.
Sir my led display on and off ....
Contact Sony.
