i love that dream bubbles exist yet they are so sad. imagine there being one or 10 dead copies of you in dream bubbles because space and time somehow made other versions of you die without your knowledge. and then the sadness you must feel if you wake up after meeting a ghost of someone you care or cared about.

If you look back on [S] Remember, you'll notice that characters that had their bodies entirely destroyed upon death didn't wake up in the dream bubbles. The Karkat that fell into lava is one of the only characters shown not waking up. That means that the Dave that was double-stabbed (like the one in this comic), who likely doesn't know, will spend an eternity looking for a Karkat that never made it to the afterlife
Same for that version of Kanaya and Rose, by the way.

I like Homestuck because it gives the what happens when your character dies in a video game. Like you as a player just starts over but does Mario know he fell to his doom before?
