If asked for my opinion, this is without doubt the benchmark of all of the sailing platforms available to one and all. Simply brilliant in all aspects.

Sophie the tough cookie with style. It only took a cup of tea to make her happy again.

Amazing how Sophie can jump in and still not get her hair wet! 😁
    Thanks for another fabulous episode.

Fabulous, thank you both so much. Such stunning locations. Your amazing videos are beautiful escapism for this aging, one time liveaboard sailor (with my late husband). ❤ xx

Captivating footage of incredible scenery and fascinating wildlife, all beautifully edited and as mesmerising as ever. And, gosh, it looked so cold! The routine for weighing the anchor was intriguing (I just love these glimpses of your life 'behind the scenes'), and I doubt a mug of tea has ever been more appreciated than Sophie's, after all those freezing trips to and fro in the dinghy. Thanks so much!

Another great video. When we were at Danco Island, it was snowing lightly and the Gento chicks were catching snowflakes in their beaks. It was so fun to watch.

This was again amazing. A world I will never enter. As poverty comes over us and EU goes head down, it is an inflection point - what to do in the coming years? I escaped the flu stories and feed colibris visiting the balcony these days (as well an amazing bird to watch), waiting for an inviting signal of freedom from countries which hopefully will turn around and offer a free breathing life again. And then a new and very different life will begin.

Get a boat and sail where the only law is the sea. If you cannot buy your own boat volunteer as crew on a sailing boat and see the world.

Impressed that they brought swimsuits on a trip to the Antractic :-)! One of my friends arrived at Rothera (Adeliade Island) a few days ago - looks amazing down there. It amazes me how quickly a storm can calm. Your kelp cutter is great (especially with the antidrop lanyard!) those dinghy runs looked like hard work, that was a well earned cup of tea! Glad the outboard started okay :-)! Beautiful photo, shame you didn't get to land on Cape Horn but I suppose it's pretty appropraite that the weather wasn't good enough :-)!

Sophie, I have a 50 ft steel junk rigged schooner, with competent crew onboard, but not necessarily experienced in the Drake region.
I am debating if I should passage West to East via tha Panama Canal versus the Drake Passage. I would really appreciate your in put.
    Regards Billy

Hi David. The second Antarctic voyage was at the end of the summer season in Antarctica (March) - more like ‘Autumn’ there…
I hope that answers your question :))

Such a pity to visit that location with such bad video camera. And narration … no need to speak one after the other. Sounds like you made a video for pre school kids. It is stiff in its presentation. Like you were answering sailing exam/ quiz questions. There was no natural “presentation” … saying this coz I am aware that both of you are more then capable of making outstanding videos.
I am just writing this to you because I would love to see you going on another level. I am addicted to your channel and lobe watching your videos. God bless.

Thank you for your feedback. We feel much more comfortable delivering a descriptive narration about our surroundings and observations. We don’t want to be TH-cam ‘personalities’. We don’t want to turn our videos into ‘vlogs’ or hype up events. Instead we want to keep them as a documentary style a bit like David Attenborough where he appears less frequently, does a lot of voice overs, is steady & informative. Obviously we have a long way to go but we prefer this style of video. Thanks for enjoying our films. Though I have to say, I don’t think our films sound like they are for pre school kids compared to a whole host of bland YT channels. Yes we don’t have modern cameras. What can I say there, they are expensive! We have hand me down gear :)
