  • To celebrate the first day of Spring and the arrival of our new Nomadic 4 Rooftop tent, we take a drive to Madawaska in search of the perfect crown land campsite. Though the warmer weather and melting snow brought us some hiccups along the way, it was well worth it for the breathtaking view and stunning campsite we were able to claim for the weekend. The ground was wet, but we were dry!
    Huge thank you to Overland Vehicle Systems for allowing us to have this experience.

    How did you keep warm?

      At this time of the year we just used fleece and good sleeping bags. During cold winter months we switch to a hot tent set up

    Thats an awesome setup! Trucks come a long way too. So what do you do for a heat source inside the tent? Or do you just bundle up with a few extra layers?

      @thelonerangeroverland7613  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks man! Truck is getting some big upgrades soon as well, can’t wait for this season. We didn’t use any heat sources for this trip, just fleece and a good sleeping bag. We were lucky though, coldest temps overnight were -7 so not too bad. I use a military hot tent with a wood stove for when it’s really cold

      @@thelonerangeroverland7613 cool what else you got planned? Your truck used to be black right? Is it paint/wrap/bed liner?

    • @thelonerangeroverland7613

      @@craigquann I’m getting the Icon stage 2 long travel suspension with upper control arms and the OME leaf pack. Steel bumper with winch and dual battery set up as well. Just waiting on parts. I’m hoping to have it done for the end of May.
      The truck was black, I’ve been learning to vinyl wrap so I’m doing it in my driveway with a heat gun. As soon as the weather warms up I’m going to start up again and get it finished. Will be silver, black and metallic army green when I’m done. Also debating putting some bronze accents in there with wheels and pin stripes
      I’ll probably end up bed lining the whole truck in the next few years but for now experimenting with vinyl is fun

      @@thelonerangeroverland7613 nice! How does the vinyl hold up to pin stripes?

    • @thelonerangeroverland7613
      @thelonerangeroverland7613  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@craigquann it definitely still shows pin stripes but so far it’s doing a great job of protecting the actual paint. I’ve got so many pin stripes now it’s starting to all blend in haha

    Hi guys did you get any condensation at all, how warm did you find the tent?? thank you

    • @thelonerangeroverland7613
      @thelonerangeroverland7613  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Definitely a bit of condensation in the morning but that’s with two adults and a large dog. Very minimal amount though. I keep a towel and just do a quick wipe of the inside when I get up.

    I’m very interested in this tent, how did it do with condensation? How thick is the tent body? How would you compare it to other RTTs?

    • @thelonerangeroverland7613
      @thelonerangeroverland7613  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, the tent definitely condensates a little on the inside. Considering it was three adults and a large dog in the tent during cold nights I’d say the condensation was an expected amount. The nice thing about the annex is that you can store everything like clothing in it and the annex doesn’t get condensation in it. Not sure the actual thickness of the base but it feels very sturdy comparatively to the smittybilt tents and others I have been inside. Overall I’d say it’s a great option if you want a tent within the same price range (slightly more expensive) than the smittybilt tents but with better build quality

      Just wondering why the back of the annex is not sealed were it meet the "floor" of the tent? Normaly you slide the annex trought a channel to get a complet seal?
