Used this for my grade 10 performance task, thank you for explaining so easily to the point I finished my script for representing Barbatos in only 1 day!
Where have you got this 3-5k dollars a month from? It is a lot lower than that. My family still live there one is a retired nurse and she did certainly didn't earn that amount. Jobs are hard to find in Barbados - very hard and of course the cost is living in very high. People would be better off moving to South America to get a job.

Hi Thanks for the update, I know you are busy with your work and all that comes along with that, I know you have stated in your past post that you will write about your home country, I would like for you to talk about the cost of living in your country in terms of rent/Mortgage which is the largest portion of most people income, I would also like information on the safety and the beaches most importantly A, Cayes area, also the health care thanks so much and best regards GW, I really like Barbados, for the international feel but it comes at a great cost, I am prepared to give up some of that in exchange for a similar lifestyle at a much lower cost, my only non-negotiation is the safety factor thanks GW
I am Barbadian, I have living abroad, I visited here 12 yrs ago an it has gone down to the dumps tremendously.some people speak w an Bajan accent but they came from other Islands
love your video and all your videos, but i would dispute that the average bajans make 3000 to 5000 a month, they would be lucky to make even half that. It would be very interesting if we could go around and ask anyone who works in the tourism industry, and not the owners, how much they make a month. Or anyone who does not work for the government. Maybe its just me but i have come to the conclusion that there is no middle class in Barbados only the have and have nots, in comparison to other countries with more diverse economies. thanks.
Thank you so much! I completely agree with all you’ve said. I also found it interesting to see that statistic as well. Maybe they mean $3k - $5k per household and not the average person . I’m not sure how they came to those numbers - if it’s through polling or national statistics. I always wonder how the average family gets by. But yet the restaurants and supermarkets are always full!
I can tell you for a fact that number is correct. What it shows is the disparity between the lower incomes and upper incomes. I can name hundreds of Bajans that make more than 10K per month, and dozens who make more than 30K per month. All these people are regular, everyday citizens. Now, when you look at the wealthy people in Barbados such as the Williams, Simpsons, Rausings, McManus, Tabors, Godsals, Harris, McKenzie, and Goddards who make millions annually you can see how it is possible. If you have 98 people making $1 and 2 people make $4951 in the same time period, the average for those people is $100. The one's making $1 would obviously think the $100 average is not correct and is inflated. Let me go back almost 200 years to the abolition of slavery. Most of the planters and slave owners never left the island. Those people never left the island and Bajan sugar was like gold; it made those persons filthy rich. To make matters worst Britain paid those planters and it took the British tax payers 180 years to repay the loan which was the equivalent to £20 billion. This was kept in secret from the public for many years. £1000 in 1835 is equivalent to £125K in 2020. Planters received £100K to £500K in 1835. I'll let you do the Maths.
This isn't true. The average Bajan makes about 1200 on the lower end, 3500 on the middle and 7 and up on a higher end. The wealth disparity is a huge problem.
I want to ask you if I had Temporary residence visa to work for one year can I get out within the year to Europe out of barbados with this temporary ? I need an answer please thank you . 😊
Last year I visited Barbados from London, stayed 6 months, Bajan have no e-commerce site, they rely on amazon, eBay etc to purchase items with hefty shipping + import duty? Any planning Barbados will have e-commerce site next 1-2 years?

I didn’t say getting a job was easy, friend.. you heard wrong. 🙂 and I said “my coworkers” were great to work with, not every coworker. Trust me, I’ve been in toxic work environments, it’s just not my current experience.
@@jamierocke im not guessing ive lived in Barbados my entire life. Im telling you those statistics are WRONG and are most likely skewed by the excessively rich. The average person with ONE job and no side hustle makes around 1k to 3k a month and still lives at home 🥲. The public sector is different because you're supposed to get a yearly salary increase I believe but it's key to note there is a cap on how high up the salary scale you can go as it is dependent on your highest qualification (but even that can be bypassed once you have the right connects, know the right people, and run in the right circles - which the average person most likely does not).
Yeah, I think the statistics are looking at income per household rather than individual. The average individual probably makes 1-3k per month while the average household with more than one working adult makes 3-5k. Both are still low amounts considering how high the cost of living is in Bim.
I found this video on the right time I swear! I need to talk to you about this I’m about to decided On moving there! please can you give me your email or idk something I could inbox you.

My child's mother lives there and the cost of living is expensive. I have to send the packages. Very beautiful,. Bajan life.

If she is referring to $3k - 5K BBD she is correct, if she means USD, then yes, it is a LOT lower than that.

Last year I visited Barbados from London, stayed 6 months, Bajan have no e-commerce site, they rely on amazon, eBay etc to purchase items with hefty shipping + import duty?
Any planning Barbados will have e-commerce site next 1-2 years?
We will NEVER have e-commerce in Barbados. The import taxes alone would be crippling.
Maybe when Jesus come back, the government do not care about these things this government is here to collect taxes.
Please I will like to know more about this topic because I have some personal questions to ask you thanks I'm really interested on your videos
