Good day all : I worked extensively on the Citation X original engine development program back in the 90's . The original first turbine blade sets were made in Mississauga , Ontario in Canada . It's nice to see the X taking off .

The engine was developed and manufactured in Indianapolis by the Allison Engine Company, hence the "AE" in the model number AE3007C. Since Allison was part of General Motors at the time, and GM always had a large footprint in Canada, I can see the connection. Rolls Royce purchased the naming rights to this engine by acquisition in 1995, but it's still (and has always been) made in Indianapolis.

wow, I've not seen a citation X in a while. I forgot how big the engines are compared to the other citation models.

Almost 1k addition thrust PER SIDE over the “lesser” citations

They called the citation a “poor mans jet” until the X came on the scene. Thanks for the vid!

Haha, I can see why they call the citation a “poor mans jet”

Not the most efficient airplane, but aerodynamically graceful and VERY fast. As with most things, we're moving away from the time when machines had individual character. Design uniformity. It happened to cars. Planes are next. I hope these obnoxiously independent Citation Xs carry on for a long time. Fantastic video of this lovely aircraft though!

They’re all slowly being phased out by private carriers etc. Production ceased in 2018, so no more new ones. The X+ is just a bad to the bone biz jet.

Sound barrier breaker in a dive. I believe the engines are the same as a 727. (Or close to)

I worked at a Cessna Citation Service Center for two decades and the Citation X was my favorite jet to work on. Why did the pilot deploy and leave open the left thrust reverser for several seconds on taxi out? Why is it the standard operating procedure to start the right engine first on the Model 750?
