Very nice bike. I have a '98 just like it that I had converted to a trike. With 8 degree raked triple trees it rides like a cadillac. It sat for a couple of months before I could get it triked. When I got it back the low speed circuits on the carbs were plugged. I live in the midwest and I suspect the previous owner may have used gas with alcohol, that stuff is no bueno on carburated engines. It cost $1100 to rebuild the carbs, fuel rail and petcock as well as vacuum lines. These are great engines, but you have to realize they are old. In retrospect I should have ran some premium gas and fuel stabilizer through it when I got it.

Nice video as always. Just curious… did you ever check the VIN? It is set up as a Tourer model, but the reflectors on the back fender make me think it’s a Standard model originally and the previous owner got the saddlebags and windshield installed. If you’re interested in more of the history of the Valkyrie and all the different models, check out a book called “The Honda Valkyrie” by Peter Rakestrow. Keep those Valk videos coming, love it! 🤝

Thanks for watching! I remember you said that before, and you are correct… but i still like to call it the tourer model because its 99.999% the same thing except for those reflectors. All genuine honda parts that would come anyway

@@Drive315 I forgot that I asked before. My VIN says it's an Interstate, but was completely rebuilt to a Tourer model. If it looks like a Tourer, it is a Tourer ;-)

VERY Nice Bike Man! What You have is a "Standard" that someone has put hard bags and bag guard on. Look at the red reflector on the side of the rear fender...that came on the standard only. Tourers came with hard bags and don't have that. It is still just as nice as any Valkyrie.... It is possible that someone replaced the rear fender with a standard fender but most likely they added the bags. Also if a set of hard bags came from an Interstate the lids will completely detach from the base and hang by wires. The tourer bag lids do not...they simply hinge up and stay connected. Hope this helps all my VALKYRIE Brothers and Sisters out there....RIDE SAFE! ;0)

Thanks for watching and subscribe! Yes another viewer “vancityvalkyrie” told me that. He has a valkryie too. I just assumed its a touring model because it seems so solid and looks like its from the factory. I sold mine and no longer own it, i do have 3 other bikes now. Check out my channel!
