Sometimes the world can be very small . Finding a video on YT of the very bike I bought 15 months ago , comes as a big surprise to me . I have done a six day road trip with it just after I bought it and it never missed a beat , or a fuel station for that matter , but I absolutely love this bike . Never got tired on the trip and that little screen works surprisingly well at any speed . The most appreciation I ever had for a motorcycle in my 42 years of riding .
I am a Lady Biker and own a Classic 98 Honda Valkryie 1500cc and absolutely love it! I am only 5'3" and I touch the ground. I could not on my husbands Goldwing
If height is an issue for you, you can replace the stock 13" read shocks wth 11.5" long shocks which will lower the bike substantially. Also, Corbin seats seem to also help me reach the ground since they are lower and not as padded BUT still a comfortable saddle.
I've got the twin to the one in your profile pic, '98 Tourer in red/cream. I used to change bikes every couple years, had the Valk for about 12 years straight now.
Many years ago, I put over 100,000 miles on a Valkyrie. The only thing it needed (aside from plenty of rear tyres, brakes and servicing) was a new clutch, which was fitted at around 90,000 miles. These bikes were not only powerful machines, but very well-built and extremely durable. On the downside; continual hard acceleration and prolonged periods of high-speed riding, only yielded around 24mpg. On the plus side; the sound of that fabulous flat-six snarling at full-throttle, was nothing short of a mechanical symphony! Awesome bike...
I have a 1999 model with 74.000 miles on it. Its as good today as the day it left the showroom. Every time i stop people want to take fotos of it, never had a bike that gets so much attention. Its utterly brilliant. I love it.
When I'm at the grocery store parking lot people who pass sometimes can't help but to strike up a conversation about the bike both men and women.. we're perfect strangers but this bike has allowed us to easily relax and talk about it. I've never had any problem with the carbs ... ever.
I love love love my 98 beast. Best bike I’ve ever owned and will keep it until the day I can’t ride anymore. Power, handling, comfort , style, unique and straight up bad assed!
I had one of the first Valks in Northeast Indiana shortly after they hit the market. Absolutely a show stopper. Lots of former riders would talk to me about their bikes - Had a Honda 250 and that was enough Reply, This bike has 6 250cc engines all on one crank shaft. 6 cylinders, 6 carbs, 6 exhausts. Another talked about his old 500. Reply, a 500 twin - yep, the Valk has 3 of those. Old Triumph 750 Trident motor. Reply, Yep- the Valk has equivalent to two of those engines. On the way out of the ice cream shop lot I couldn't resist doing a stand up rolling burn out - in second gear. What a beast!!
One of the best bikes I’ve ever had was 1997 Valkyrie. No vibes, much quicker than most of cruisers of it’s time, stable in corners, comfy and quite easy to ride.
Ramse Thank you for your response. Are there any other things about the Valkyrie that I should be aware of, mechanical issues to keep an eye out for or anything like that?
Theres a reason bike magazines called it the cruiser of the decade. When you research this bike, it was the best all around cruiser of it's time. presence, class, comfort, handling...and power.
Rocky Mountain Ras I was in the market for a Goldwing but happened to see a Valkyrie on Craigslist. I had never heard of one so I did some research on the bike to find overwhelmingly positive reviews. So I went to see the bike, took it for a test ride and could not give him my money fast enough. What a kick ass bike! I’m so glad I pulled the trigger on a Valkyrie instead of a Goldwing.
I have two of these and it’s the bike I use when I travel far because it’s so comfortable and powerful and reliable, I have the interstate and a tour model
You are 110% correct as to many didn't understand the Valkyrie. I have one with a Magna Supercharger and even the rotors and the rear end has been chromed. I've got mega bucks invested in the machine and I'll never enter it in another show that has all classes competing against each other because if there's a vtween in the group people will vote for it and stare at the Valkyrie looking dumbfounded with a confused look on their faces. I love my Valkyrie and I think I'll get me another one except I think I'll leave this one stock. The Valkyrie is truly absolutely one of the best bikes ever and will be produced. It's awesome.😎 I love my Harley Street Glide but there will never be anything that will replace the Valkyrie but will just be a different machine. Excellent video 👍.
Just bought my 3rd Valkyrie. It's a 99 standard. Needed lots of TLC. Fork seals, carb job, etc. But it rides like a dream. I keep looking for a better bike at the same price point, but can't find one that will last as long, ride as smooth, carry as much, look at good, and accelerate as well as the Valk.
Two of the bikes I've owned are Japanese cruisers - a 2013 Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Custom and a 2009 Yamaha Stratoliner 1900. The 1900 was absolute insanity, but this Valkyrie is absolutely mental, and I must have one. EDIT - Picking one up tomorrow.
First of all, what a NICE helmet you have! I always thought about a Gold Wing with straight pipes, sounding like a hot-rod, but in fact, I didn't really know what I was dreaming or expecting as a dream bike, I only knew I have this picture in my mind and by living in Brazil, I did even knew that this High Way Cruiser Warrior, The Valkyrie exists. When I came to the US and first heard this SOUND, this symphony, all become clear, was a Porsche, was a Drag Bike idling, was a Chopper or Cruiser?!?! No, it was all together in harmony and precisely mechanically attached, well balanced, extremely stable, with 6 carbs, capable to keep a $0.25 coin stand on the cylinder head cover with ZERO vibration and in the same time as a Dragon snoring during a nap. What else can I say? I have my black and chrome Valkyrie in the garage and once the winter starts it will get some nice mods without change any characteristic but making now a much stronger engine and sound. I'll probably post it on TH-cam once it gets done. Hey, Thank you so much for the video, it is already on my favourites list!
I have a '99 GL-1500 and went through a couple of bikes before I settled on this one. I had a Suzuki 2005 Boulevard 800, a 2001 Suzuki Intruder 1500, a 1984 Honda V-45, and a 2007 Suzuki M-109R. The Valkyrie was the most comfortable. Most bikes can go fast but its not all about speed but the Valkyrie did not disappoint in any area including accelleration and performance. I get 33-34 mpg that's acceptable to me. I ride hard and don't worry about fuel this ain't no gas saver but it does well for its engine size. Got it at 18k in 2013 its at 42k and it has never remotely had any type of problem. Its a very well made bike built to last. A keeper for me, its nice to be on a freeway and know you got the necessary power for whatever.
Allan Begg I’m so happy to hear that. I recently bought a 98 with 60,000 on it and was wondering if that was high mileage for that bike. What type of oil do you use in yours?
Have you ever changed the timing belts? I've never heard of one breaking I only got 47k miles but people say change it anyway because it's 22 years old.. but I seen pictures of people who changed theirs after over 100k with similar age and even when bent over as far as it to go was hard pressed to find any kind of cracks, no hairline cracks or nothing.
60k is just getting broke in good for these bikes. We have a member of our Valkyrie Riding Club that has one 250,000 miles on his Valkyrie. Still going strong too!
The rubber can look fine but I still changed mine at 55k. I would rather waste $40 on new belts than to trust my engine to 20+ year old rubber. If one pops, there goes your engine. They are very easy to change too. Just remove your spark plugs so that easy to turn your engine over with a ratchet when changing and be extremely sure that your running marks are lined up correctly.
I own a 2003 Valkyrie. I’ve test ridden several of the new m8 Harleys but none of them have won me over because I love my bike so much. It’s big, fast, lasts forever, and people love it.
Had one for 12 years. Took many N-S Cross Country trips (US). Never a problem and it just kept going. I'm in a Gold Wing now but there are times I miss the feel of the Valkyrie.
I have my F6C ( EU Valkyrie) since new 1999. It looks new and is rarest colour only 80 made black bronze. I have driven 100's of bikes but I want no other. Pulls like a train, handles way better than it should and always draws attention even with the new Goldwings beside it.
BespokeRotors I’m new to the Valkyrie world, bought it last October. Love that bike as you can imagine! Can you recommend a good oil to use in it, what do you use?
Thomas Bartlett Not sure. I tend to go 4-5 years with a bike. Get tired of the traffic and idiot drivers trying to kill me and sell it. Few years later I just have to have another one. I found the 2004 down in Clarksville Ind and drive down to trailer it back. I paid $15.9 brand new and sold it 5 years later for $15,5. Original retail was $29.000
I saw one recently on sale for 10k in basically perfect condition and I've got to say, I'm tempted... It's styled like a cruiser but it rides like Gold Wing and will get you coast to coast without an issue, true Honda style.
I am an original owner of a’97 Valk with 101,195 relatively trouble-free miles. Though I have three other bikes, ‘14 Triumph Bonneville T100, ‘09 BMW RT, ‘94 BMW RS, if I had to have one bike it would be the Valk. Progressive suspension upgrade improved handling and ground clearance (though the bottom of my foot pegs are ground smooth), turndown truck stacks for pipes (50’s look), a Southwest Indian custom paint job, leather bags and National windshield make for an all around great ride. I have had it on every border and ridden it all weather conditions to include snow. Extremely comfortable, though highway pegs are helpful on hot days. Engine is turbine smooth and powerful, and the low center of gravity makes it easy to handle at slow speeds. 0-60 mph in 3.6 seconds. No electronics! A fact I have come to appreciate after buying the RT. I have been through the Dragon numerous times and had a blast, though it is much more fun on the Triumph. Thanks for your review of one of the best all around bikes ever made.
@@OzBloke it sure does. Lol. Best I can get is about 32mpg. But oh well after a 120miles I'm ready for a stretch anyways. Valkyries don't come with clocks! 😉✌
My 97 has the smoothest running motor of the 23 previous bikes I've owned, a few of them newer and more expensive than the flat 6 Valkyrie. This review does not do the bike justice at all. Once you get rolling, it's easily manageable for slow speed manoeuvres, and once you get used to laying it over, it's rock solid in the corners and easily flickable in the twisties. It's more comfortable in the saddle than my former V-Strom and Yamaha venture, and those are very comfy motorcycles. It's as reliable as the Goldwing, but it's given much more umph! With the 6 carbs, And the tweeked motor. The Honda Valkyrie is the greatest of the big brawler bikes of its era, always having presence.
@@afterburner2869 I've read a lot of things about guys using different weights and grades of oil. I use the recommended 10w 40 non-synthetic of a higher quality. The difference is I change my oil sooner than recommended. Every 10000 km or 6000 miles. Oil changes are effortless on this motorcycle, everything is easily accessible. I try to stick to better quality, but whatever is on sale works for me. I would also recommend changing the spark plugs, again a very easy job on this bike. The first time I did I immediately notice the difference. Excellent choice enjoy and be safe.
paul edman I’ve asked this question of a lot of Valkyrie owners on TH-cam and you are the first to take the time to answer me, thank you very much. I changed my oil the other day and like you said, it was very easy. I will also change my plugs now per your recommendation. I want it ready for this riding season. Thanks again. 👍🏻
As a US rider of Gold wings, the turbine-smooth opposed engines are much of the appeal. Most notable when waiting at a stoplight alongside an HD vibrating visibly at idle. At speed on the you can hear youself think .
I have a 2000 I bought 3 years ago and they might have to bury it with me. The combination of hot rod looks, balance, handling, power band, etc. is absolutely outstanding. Heavy my ass. It's better around town than my 750 Shadow bobber that weighs 200 lbs less.
After owning and riding Harleys for 50+ years , i bought a nice '97 Valkyrie because i was always curious about them. I wish I'd bought one 20 years ago ! Ill always be a Harley fan , But the Valkyrie is in an outstanding class all by itself . Ill never sell it !
I own a 2000 Interstate Blue and Silver. Love her! Carbs can be problematic but otherwise she’s smoother on the road than my Ford Explorer. She’s 20 and still running and looking great
Thank you for a great review. I love your comments about how old school the Valkyrie is. When was the last time you road a bike without abs? Every day. I'm 75 so I'm old school and my bikes are old school.
This eats Harley-Davidson for a snack every day of the week 24 hours a day it’s a beautiful beast that goes and goes without a hiccup for 300,000 miles basic maintenance is all it requires oil change ,brake pads ,tires
I HAVE to have a Valkyrie in my life... I've got almost every Honda motorcycle engine configuration in my small but tasteful collection and the last one I've yet to add is the big flat six. Well, we did have one, my old man's '87 Goldwing, but that was sold when he passed away and it wasn't mine anyway. A late 90s GL1500 is at the top of my list of things I don't need, that I definitely need. I'm also on the lookout for a good 1100 'wing, to do a supercharged cafe racer/bobber style build. That's a replacement actually, because Dad and I already built one about a decade ago, but two weeks after completion it was stolen and never seen again. I assume it's still squirrelled away somewhere, as they would have struggled to sell much of it without getting found out by the folks keeping an eye out. Anyway, I'm inspired to fill my flat motored Honda spots in the garage, starting with the Valkyrie.
I've had my 98 Tourer for 10 years , it was my brother in laws. . Prior I had an 84 Aspencade and a new at the time 79 GL1000. I wasn't initially too keen on it but that quickly changed once I had rode it . I love it and ride it almost every day of the spring/summer/fall and even in winter if there's no snow and salt on the roads.. Other than oil changes, brakes, tires and fork seals nothing has been done, not even a tune up and it runs smooth as silk. And no other bike in a group setting gets as many admirers and questions as a Valk.
Just out of curiosity.. what do you define as a fast motorcycle? I live in Nevada and have lots of empty roads and while I usually cruise at 80 miles an hour I have had it over a hundred for reasonable periods of time. Because I am stupid, yes.
Nicely done video !. Getting a '97 Valkyrie soon myself. Does anyone know which brand wind-screen is on this Valkyrie. Its sleek and minimalistic. Hoping to add one just like this.
Why the fuck would you want a bike that does everything for you, abs.. Traction control.. launch control..anty wheely.. Cornering assist. Cruise control. The only thing missing is a fuckin ashtray an a roof... The whole reason "FOR ME" is, when I ride I want to be part of the experience, feel at one with the bike, that means being involved. To many bikers (an I use the term loosely ) worry about what other people might think about their bike.. Ride what you like an Fuck everyone else. THIS HAS BEEN A LOCKDOWN RANT.
I own a '99 Valkyrie Interstate, bought new, still in the crate in 2001. Fast forward to now and I have about 130K miles on it. This bike has carried me far and wide. You can have your V-Twins, I've yet to find another bike I would trade this for.
Me too! So far I've gone through 8 different bikes and though they were all fun, it was when I rode the valkyrie that I realised it was my bike soulmate! There is something so special about this bike that eludes description. I'll never give mine up!
Riding Yamaha VMax 1700, I know what you talk about when it comes to weight and torque. The Valkyre is another gem on the street. I love big bikes. Nice video thumbs up
idk what bike you were riding, but valkyries are FAST for a 900+lb bike with rider. i have a 97 F6c with the tourer package. so big bags and full windshield and it is kinda spooky when you let her rip and get good shift. the thing will absolutely do wheelies if you know what you are doing... or dont. so far i have claimed under my belt 2017 streetglide with a stage 1 kit a 2017 streetglide with a turbo and tune 2009 victory vegas 8ball bored and stroked to 2000cc my buddies base 98 valkyrie and on a 30mph pull i made it 3 car lengths at 70mph in front of a cbr600. which is IMPRESSIVE for any cruiser. and keep in mind that my valk is factory. factory pipes, carbs, tune. not a single performance upgrade on her.
Hello riders! A question for Valkyrie owners. After my dad passed away, I have been left to take care of his Valkyrie and I would like to start it up every now and then, to make some noise (it sounds gorgeous) and make sure it still runs. It's a 2002 model, and before I do anything I wanted to know which position should the choke lever be in to start, up or down? I had never thought to ask and now I don't want to screw something up. Thanks!
Sorry for your loss. Put the bike in neutral. Pull the lever down all the way for full choke. Hit the start button. The bike will come to life. Let it idle on choke for about 1min. Lift the choke lever and the RPMs will come down to normal (just under 1k). If you are storing the bike more than riding it. Add some Marvel's mystery oil to the gas. It will keep those 6 carburetors nice and clean 👌 and prevent them from corrosion.
@@kylestewart8354 Thanks a lot, appreciate the oil suggestion. The choke lever should be pulled down towards the rider or pushed up towards the clutch lever?
Einmal Honda F6C, immer Honda F6C.Eine sehr geile Maschine, man will fahren, fahren+fahren nur zum Tanken pinkeln und mal eine Zigarette rauchen absteigen!
We really need more riders to broaden the motorcycle market. This is an amazing bike. If more than 3% of Americans rode bikes, then I know there would have been a market for the Valkyrie. I love it. Having only so much money, I have to set on a few bikes. I saw a concept for a new one, but it was a bit too futuristic for me.
I own a 2000 Road King and a 1999 Valkyrie 15200cc. I love both the bike, there's good and bad about both. Would only sell the Valkyrie for 6k, it only has 19k original miles where the Road King has 80k. The first person that ask to buy the Valkyrie for 6k, it's sad but I'd have to do it.
Honda needs to bring back the 1200 cc 4 cylinder gold wing or call it the silver wing, because it’s just to big for most people. I had a 1979 gold wing full dresser and loved it. It wasn’t a boat anchor like the 2000 cc or 2 letter Munster ,the engine is bigger than the one in my car. I believe the 4 cylinder would sell grate. Bring back the classic sweetheart, there beauts are still around , the people still love them to death Please!!!! Think about it????
The word Valkyrie is a Nordic word which means the Chooser of Death. A Valkyrie is a Nordic Godess/angel that watches over warriors in battle and decides who goes to Val Halla/Warrior Heaven. So you’re riding a motorcycle called the chooser of death.
@@jerryhayden8720 nice! Thanks for input. I won't do anything like in my videos with it ;) but I can't wait to take the valkyrie the distance though, including camping... this is my favorite bike!
🙂 .. I bought my dream at the end of the season. Greta won't be pleased. I am a different generation. I love old mechanical devices. The motorcycle I have purchased is an accumulation of my needs.
Why do the old valkyrie when you did this it was not the current valkyrie which is the gl1800, I have my 2014 f6c gl1800 and she is a beast, I also have a 2007 goldwing gl1800 love them both but are very different bikes to ride.
ummmmmm Honda DID bring back the Valkyrie in the Rune and the 2014/15 limited edition 1832 fuel injected ABS Valkyrie, Truly sad a page called The Bike show doesn't know about the Gen 2 Valkyrie Rune, or the Gen 3 Valkyrie
Actually, my 1700 VMax is the first and only bike I own that has ABS. And fuel injection. But thankfully no traction control or driving mode or virtual intruments. Well, speed is shown as LCD but at least revs come with a gauge. Time takes its toll. Here in Europe no new bike available without ABS and fuel injection (catalytic convertor) by law.
Any 2014 Valkyrie owners here? Loving mine. Only complaint would be I'm fairly tall and need to find somebody to adjust or make a custom seat for me. If anybody knows a good custom seat makers lmk if they specialize on hondas even better. My butt would appreciate it.
The seat works well for Me most of the time ,"butt" for rides of 100mi. or more I use an AIRHAWK. 2014 GL1800C Valkyrie with Power Commander 5 Auto tune system.
@@bluevalkyrie2517 Blue Valkyrie's ftw! Coming from a grey older model v-rod my blue honda valkyrie really get's some attention. I'm trying the Airhawk currently but I feel since I'm tall I'm sitting more on the back seams then in the center of the seat. Might give Corbin seats a shot but always looking for recommendations. Been on the forums seems the new 2014 Valkyrie seats give other problems also. Love the bike. The v-rod was a blast but the honda is refined to the max. So smooth, the power band unbelievable and i'm finding the distance I can go between fill ups amazing compared to my v-rods 2 gallon tank.
I got rid of my bad boy VTX1300S as it had big roar and vibration like every twin out there. While I miss his bad boy looks the Valkryie still messes my hair up and urges me to Vahalla too if I do not pay attention!!
He should NOT keep referring to the "giant noisy engine, when referring to the engine. It is not only extremely smooth engine, it is also an extremely QUITE one !! He should learn the difference between OEM, after market exhaust systems and engine noise. He is simply hearing the exhaust !!! I put 297 miles on the '97 Tourer, that I bought new in '97. I sold it with that mileage and it still had the original clutch, untouched carb,s and the entire drive line! I bought another Tourer with only 50K on it and it now has 137K . This is one bike that you never have to ask the question, (If you go on a long trip) "Will it do the trip and get me home without a problem" !!
Old video, but does he know it is a Japanese motorcycle and has more, not less power than a Goldwing of the same year? Yes, it is assembled in the U.S.

I have a '99 Valkyrie Interstate. It has 177K miles on it. It runs incredibly well. That flat six is an amazing engine.
I own an '02 Valkyrie and love your comment on gravity: "What you're actually seeing is the Earth pulled up to the bike." True!
I own a 2003 Valkyrie. I’ve test ridden several of the new m8 Harleys but none of them have won me over because I love my bike so much. It’s big, fast, lasts forever, and people love it.
As Superbike and hyper naked fan, I've always loved this bike.
Go big or go home! I ❤️ the old Valkyrie!
i have one and she is the love of my life.
Shell Rotella 15w40.
I dont think most people would agree with me but i think this as a bobber and a peanut tank would look amazing.
seriously that tank is like a football field.
Love my 99’ standard. I owned a 2004 Rune for a few years, sold it and went back to the Valkyrie.
Just curious, why did you sell the Rune?
Thomas Bartlett
Not sure.
Mark Mathison I just bought a 98 with 60,000 on it and it would appear it has a lot of life still left in it. What oil do you use in yours ?
@@afterburner2869 just saw your question about oil…probably OBE, but I use 20/50 synthetic oil in my Valkyrie.
Love my Valkyrie tourer. Will never sell it. They last carbureted monster with bucket loads of character and chrome😎.
F6 ☝🏼
kyle stewart I like ‘em too - but they like a drink!
@@OzBloke it sure does. Lol. Best I can get is about 32mpg. But oh well after a 120miles I'm ready for a stretch anyways. Valkyries don't come with clocks! 😉✌
While l have a 14 valk, I prefer the look of the old one. For sure.
The Honda Valkyrie is the greatest of the big brawler bikes of its era, always having presence.
well said. I own a 1997 Tourer. Great bike.
I have a 2000 touring Valkyrie and I'm sorry but it hauls ass.
paul edman I recently bought a Valkyrie and as you can imagine, I love it. What kind of oil do you use in yours, what do you recommend?
I agree, do it Honda......a 2020 Valkyrie
it's coming and I may have to sell my 2014 Valkyrie. livingwithgravity.com/news-2020-honda-valkyrie-rune-1800-unveiled-by-honda-japan/
I have a 2000 I bought 3 years ago and they might have to bury it with me.
The combination of hot rod looks, balance, handling, power band, etc. is absolutely outstanding. Heavy my ass. It's better around town than my 750 Shadow bobber that weighs 200 lbs less.
2003 was the last year, I absolutely love my 97'
Likewise 97 love it.
Me to 97
After owning and riding Harleys for 50+ years , i bought a nice '97 Valkyrie because i was always curious about them. I wish I'd bought one 20 years ago !
Ill always be a Harley fan , But the Valkyrie is in an outstanding class all by itself . Ill never sell it !
I picked up a 2000 Val. Giving it new tires brakes shocks ect. Cant wait for spring here in the midwest in the US.
I own a 2000 Interstate Blue and Silver. Love her! Carbs can be problematic but otherwise she’s smoother on the road than my Ford Explorer. She’s 20 and still running and looking great
Thanks for this! Have just bought myself one!!!
best purchase ever, amirite?
Thank you for a great review. I love your comments about how old school the Valkyrie is. When was the last time you road a bike without abs? Every day. I'm 75 so I'm old school and my bikes are old school.
What is ABS? I got xv 1600 so not such experience.
The F6C Valkyrie, is in my opinion, one of the best motorcycles ever produced.
I’m extremely close to get one. I found a 99 with 40000km. It suffered from an hydrolock starter failure but otherwise is looking really good.
Pete K I’m new to the Valkyrie world, I’ve had mine since last October. I love that bike as you can imagine. What is a good oil to use in those bikes?
mine has a sound like a mustang.
I'm glad that my motorcycle is "British approved." For the Brits know a good cycle when they see one, given their great history of motoring.
It’s a Honda it’s not gonna hurt you, it’ll let you take care of that.
Amazing bike really a mechanical work of art
Im surprised by the comments below, this Honda has a solid following. I heard these bikes was tough on gas stations, but people love them.
Not too bad actually Maybe $5 more per fillup than my VTX1300S
Yes, mine loves to visit gas stations
I really wish a few more of the Valkyrie Runes had come in. I've heard there're a few in the country but never seen one.
May I suggest, that You type in the search bar : Honda Rune Valkyrie - then You Will see the Horse that Will take You to Valhalla
I want one.
I own a '99 Valkyrie Interstate, bought new, still in the crate in 2001. Fast forward to now and I have about 130K miles on it. This bike has carried me far and wide. You can have your V-Twins, I've yet to find another bike I would trade this for.
Michael Vachon , I bought an Interstate new in 1999 and put 48k miles in 2 years. The only bike I ever regretted selling.
Michael Vachon I bought mine last October and love it as you can imagine. What type of oil do you use in yours? Any recommendations?
Did you guys forget the 1800 Valkyrie from the previous generation?
Yeah Honda. Do the big V again. Sport touring monster version!
I love my 1998 Valkyrie! I will go anywhere on this bike
My all time favorite bike. Have a 1/18” scale model on my dresser at home. Still some out there available for purchase.
Me too! So far I've gone through 8 different bikes and though they were all fun, it was when I rode the valkyrie that I realised it was my bike soulmate!
There is something so special about this bike that eludes description. I'll never give mine up!
Scott, mine ain't for sale! 🤣
Not a choke. Fuel enricher! ABS not needed. Stops on proverbial dime.
Riding Yamaha VMax 1700, I know what you talk about when it comes to weight and torque.
The Valkyre is another gem on the street.
I love big bikes.
Nice video thumbs up
I would also like to know what windshield that is...
idk what bike you were riding, but valkyries are FAST for a 900+lb bike with rider.
i have a 97 F6c with the tourer package. so big bags and full windshield and it is kinda spooky when you let her rip and get good shift. the thing will absolutely do wheelies if you know what you are doing... or dont.
so far i have claimed under my belt
2017 streetglide with a stage 1 kit
a 2017 streetglide with a turbo and tune
2009 victory vegas 8ball bored and stroked to 2000cc
my buddies base 98 valkyrie
and on a 30mph pull i made it 3 car lengths at 70mph in front of a cbr600. which is IMPRESSIVE for any cruiser.
and keep in mind that my valk is factory. factory pipes, carbs, tune. not a single performance upgrade on her.
My god, just the perfect motorcycle. They'll have to bury me on my Valk because I will never sell her.
Use the choke? Only if it's sat for half a millinium.
Fits you very well i must say!
What windshield is that!!!!!!
Great bike. Would be interested where i can get that windshield ??? Looks good on it.
no one knows 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Toward the rider to engage the choke.
Einmal Honda F6C, immer Honda F6C.Eine sehr geile Maschine, man will fahren, fahren+fahren nur zum Tanken pinkeln und mal eine Zigarette rauchen absteigen!
I've test drove a couple during promos and Luv this bike , had a seat on the Rune as well but the reporter didn't trust anyone to ride it
We really need more riders to broaden the motorcycle market. This is an amazing bike. If more than 3% of Americans rode bikes, then I know there would have been a market for the Valkyrie. I love it. Having only so much money, I have to set on a few bikes. I saw a concept for a new one, but it was a bit too futuristic for me.
I wouldn’t exactly call it a slow motorcycle.
My buddy and his son both have one his has over130,000 miles on it still runs like new with very little work to it.
Owners love them.
I ride a Harley but respect those, they sound cool...
I had an Interstate..loved it..sold it,bought a Rune and immediately missed my Valkyrie.
Who's taken their Valkyrie camping?... how's it do off the beaten path - gravel, hard pack dirt roads, etc
Claygrizzly I've rode mine on gravel roads and dirt paths around Kentucky Lake, USA and had absolutely no problems. It's got big tires.😆
Are you guys not familiar with the 2015 valkyrie?
Such a beautiful bike
Why do the old valkyrie when you did this it was not the current valkyrie which is the gl1800, I have my 2014 f6c gl1800 and she is a beast, I also have a 2007 goldwing gl1800 love them both but are very different bikes to ride.
ummmmmm Honda DID bring back the Valkyrie in the Rune and the 2014/15 limited edition 1832 fuel injected ABS Valkyrie, Truly sad a page called The Bike show doesn't know about the Gen 2 Valkyrie Rune, or the Gen 3 Valkyrie
Bruce NHBeachBiker i have a 98 and 2015 and love them both
5:05... it doesn't even have abs, I mean when is the last time you've riden a bike without abs... I never have ridden a bike with abs.
🤣🤣 same here
Actually, my 1700 VMax is the first and only bike I own that has ABS.
And fuel injection.
But thankfully no traction control or driving mode or virtual intruments. Well, speed is shown as LCD but at least revs come with a gauge.
Time takes its toll. Here in Europe no new bike available without ABS and fuel injection (catalytic convertor) by law.
Should have kept mine.
Had to give it up due to eyesight problems.
If your comparing it to more american style bikes 660lbs (300kg) is pretty lightweight most bikes in this range are 800+ pounds and only 2 cylinders
Those are valuable and hard to find.
Gold Wing= 1/2 Civic, Valkyrie - bike! :)
Song name, please
Everything looks awesome except the exhaust pipes. I would make this a pair of 3-1 with back pressure chamber for performance and sound.
I got rid of my bad boy VTX1300S as it had big roar and vibration like every twin out there. While I miss his bad boy looks the Valkryie still messes my hair up and urges me to Vahalla too if I do not pay attention!!
Such a sweet bike
Do you always ride with your foot under the clutch?
lovelessissimo Not the clutch. Gear shifter.
@@stickbow95 correct.
Old video, but does he know it is a Japanese motorcycle and has more, not less power than a Goldwing of the same year? Yes, it is assembled in the U.S.
Who painted those crash bars and put the Paris/Dakar screen on it?😭
Just awful. I agree.
