Same I played this as a kid and was scared for some reason and I just remembered it so I wanted to watch it and see if it was as scary as I remembered when I was younger
Yes it has all kind of fruits because it was about yoshi's mood and his favorite things which made it really cool too! I'm actually playing it right now trying to figure out how to reach the next level lol I love games that are wholesome and cute like yoshi's story. I even want to get the switch just to play the newer one that came out!
Whenever the Yoshi's died, it brought such sadness to my heart. I always felt so bad and got scared. Them being carried off like that scared me so much.
diddy kong racing was my favourite, that was pure positive...will always keep that in my mind and my heart, the days we had no problems and circumstances, no one can take that away and im thankful for it, God bless yall
I hear a lot of people hate on this game, but I really thought it was fun. Sure it wasn't Yoshi's Island, but it was still interesting in it's own ways. The music was playful, but it was also just a cool experience in general. It held up to the standards of oldschool gaming while having a different appeal to it. You could go anywhere you pleased, there were fun secrets along the way, and so many different ways you could travel through the game.
^_^ 3:31 - 3:54 I always thought the yoshis were singing, " The Aaaasshole... The Aaaasshole." LMAO! This game is such a trip to play, especially if one is heavily medicated on cough or allergy medicines.
As good or bad as this game was, i dunno if im the only one who thought this game was creepy and even depressing to a point .__. it used to scare me sometimes
***** i thought it was just me. Man, when i lost my first yoshi the first time i played it my world crashed when i saw that little tear roll down his face. IT'S MEANT TO BE A KIDS GAME IT'S NOT MEANT TO MAKE YOU CRY, EVEN AS AN ADULT NOW I CRY IT'S SO PAINFUL DX
+ToToo088 It has its moments. The cheery music makes it oh so wrong. Anyways I use to play this game as a black yoshi, so when I got that special helpful white shy guy, I'm like, "Look KKK is following black yoshi and helping him... the universe has imploded upon itself in this game." LOL
OMG, I just found one of my earliest childhood games ever!!!,wow I remember I used to be scared of the death screen when u were taken to the castle, I used to always pull out the cardaige, and I never got to save my game
When I was a child and played this game, I was saddened by the ending song. Today that I Hear again this song, my memory flyed away to that happy past. Thanks for this video!
If it's done by the same people it will turn out the same as Yoshi's New Island. As long as you keep giving them money they think it's okay to make crappy remakes! Vote with your wallet as that's all these financial adviser type people see is short term gains. Capitalism is nearing it's end and we are paying for the rope that hangs us all.
I'd rather have a remake of Yoshi's Island, if anything in the Yoshi series. Even then, that game is absolutely perfect the way it is (not including the crying, which was fixed in the GBA port).
Kailah Sichmann YES!!! He skipped so many secrets and Easter eggs and just points in general! Not to mention the White Yoshi and White shy guy! And he honestly just got lucky at the end. You were supposed to hit the ceiling to hit Bowser and knock him down. He was just blindly throwing bombs at Bowser himself which did nothing. Ugh!
The most cutest thing about Yoshi I love is the sound he makes when he does the double jump and the sound he makes when he’s falling from a high location. Adorable
Be still my heart. Used go play this game with my mom all the time growing up. When all the yoshi’s sing at the end of a chapter it just makes me smile and brings back so many memories. This will always hold a special place in my heart ❤️
21:43 R.I.P green yoshi 33:24 R.I.P black Yoshi 35:02 R.I.P red yoshi 38:02 R.I.P yellow Yoshi 41:12 R.I.P blue Yoshi 45:53 R.I.P cyan Yoshi This is all rhe yoshis that died
So weird watching this after not playing or seeing the game for like 14 years. Its like I'm watching a section of my childhood and its kinda sad but happy at the same time.
Just imagine having the book of this story and read it to your kids and then some years later they find out there is actually a game, that would be so amazing for them
this game was low key traumatic, but it's always going to be my favorite N64 game besides super mario. i started playing this when i was about 8 years old, (im 16 now) and then some random day i guess me and my younger brother lost our controllers and stopped playing. we recently just got a controller and started playing again, and it's the most nostalgic thing i've ever done.
my dad would also play with us, and he beat the game everytime we played it . it's one of my sweetest memories, because he would play the space or like toy store land, and shout "Mr Moooooon" whenever we played. it was so cute
Today, I decided to take a trip to the past to relive my good old memories that I had made by playing this game. I watched the whole video and cried so much at the end. Everything was so good and happy back then. I greatly appreciate you for making this video and even though you might not see this comment, I still want to Thank you from the bottom of my heart for making this beautiful video. I will and will always cherish these precious memories and they will always live on in this video. Thank you.....❤️
Why do people hate on this game? Sure, it’s easy and short, but it’s charming, cute, and it’s one of my favorite games on the N64. It’s not as good as Yoshi’s Island but it’s pretty good
''The Yoshis finally got to the castle in the final page of the storybook. Behind all the noisy machines, Baby Bowser guarded the tree. Bowser was a tough baby, but bad guys finish last. The Yoshis won! All's well that ends well. The Yoshis has broken Bowser's spell. The Super Happy Tree was back. They jumped for joy with their fruity snack. And the Yoshis lived happily ever after.''
Back in the days when game devs had to make good games because there was no options like post release update or sell expansion packs or DLC's... when did this shit start anyhow?
Buttered Toast If you're lucky. Sometimes you have to buy the rest of the game if you want to see all of the content. For me, the worst offender was Asura's Wrath. $60 that required $12 of DLC in order to play the true final stage and get the real ending. I loved the game, but what a screw job
NintendoComplete What a load of garbage. A big thought I have is that you have to get DLC online....well what about when the servers eventually go down, forever? What will be left with when it comes to games like that?
+Adam Sage no, n64 on touch screen is unplayable for most games because of the button layout and limited access to z, r,l. pc is the answer with a real controller.
Wind Element oh no, I plug my xbox360 controller into my tablet. I have a pogo keyboard for it though, that gives me access to full size usb and leaves the tablet upright while sitting down on something. I just meant the emulators are now efficient enough, and mobile CPU's powerful enough to emulate it at 100%. But yeah, PC is the way to go.
I loved this game!!! Yoshi's little growl is unreasonably cute. I remember in high school playing this regularly, just because it made me happy and it was so adorable. All the little Yoshi wants to do is eat yummy food and be happy, and I want that for them.
I remember when i was 6 or 7 i remembered waking up sick and playing Yoshi story with my night light on cause it was raining. When all the Yoshi's sing at the end today, i start crying xD idk maybe because there all happy or it was an emotional thing to see them happy xD this needs to be on the switch💜👌
Hoeru I loved the White Yoshi because she had the highest, sweetest voice. You could also get a little White shy guy to follow you around and keep to use and revive one of your Yoshis.
Oh the thing that wouldn't let me pass the first level, the skeleton dragon in the 2nd level, the green dragon in level 3, the piranha plant world with the piranha plants background, etc , oh the feels, oh the nostalgia and childhood give it back please!
There were some points when I was semi freaked out by this game as a child, yet there was something about it that was enticing. A love hate relationship really.
Omg I miss this game so much! I used to play it as a kid and I don’t know what happened to our 64 or this game. I want to find them again so bad. This made my heart happy to see this.
I played this game for the first time when I borrowed it from a friend as a kid. It holds a special place in my heart because it was the first Mario game I ever beat. Paper Mario was my second. ☺️
You made me tear up after 20 years seems a play it in my nintendo....thank you for making me feel like a 8 years old again. It feels like so long ago....
Interestingly Yoshi's Story is the only N64 game from Nintendo I know of where the game actually looks like what's in the boxart... And it's a sprite game with sprites handled just like DKC.
Oh my god, you don't know how good it feels to hear this music after 5 years. Since my brother took all the gaming sets with him when he moved out, I was left only with a Wii-U (hello darkness my old friend). I loved this game so much, but I was always freaked out when Yoshi died and when I had to play the last levels, with the creepy music and lava and stuff on the book. Mario was part of my childhood, and for my birthday, I want to see if I can get a Nintendo 64 again. (and have an Avengers party. Praise Loki, everyone!) Like if u agree
Got to agree there buddy. Whilst Yoshi is generally one of the good guys. He can certainly hold his own and that Yoshi mod that I have for GTA San Andreas. He is still a leathal charactar that likes to pop open a can of whoop ass all over his enemies ;).
The final level demonstrates how brutal the game’s difficulty really is. Everyone and every challenge only gives you ONE chance and once you fail, you cannot retry PERMANENTLY.
Pink Yoshi for the save man Baby Bowser brings it snd puts on a hell of a fight! Love it! The music gets very intense too Your inexperience playing this made it so much funan
I loved this game as a kid. I rented it so many times. I'm 27 now and I searched for reviews, turns out it wasn't very well received. Don't really care though, I think it's awesome.
Yoshi's Story and Diddy Kong Racing were my favorite 2 games on N64 growing up. We also had an Asian console what we called Atari, but it wasn't really Atari.. but it had Super Mario and so many awesome games but I can't remember what they're called
Yoshi dying and getting taken to that tower was one of the scariest things in my childhood.
Exactly
lol i just agreed with myself and then realized I had posted a comment about a year ago saying basically the same thing
Yeah. This happy baby yoshi trying to save their world, locked away with nobody to help him. Like if u cri everytim ;_;
tbh i agree, i used to be afraid that they would come for me as well when i was like 5
Jorgan Freeman he gets disected
I played this as a kid, never realized the whole point and story to the game was to find happiness....Honestly that kinda got to me just now.
+IrelandMuayThai Yoshi is one of the most popular and iconic game characters in Japanese gaming history. SMW2 was a tremendous success in Japan.
Thank you for that useful gaming information.

Oh my gosh you don't know how good it feels to view this game after 10 years!
You and me both, i just remembered it suddenly and had to look it up time sure flies.
I know right I have played this game since I was little
Ikr its been forever
Matt Levis don't you mean 20? Omfg 0.0
Almost 20 years for me
This game was so hard for me when I was like seven.
Gregory Smith It's still difficult for me, especially that last level. I thought I was going to get a game over, that would've been embarrassing.
Gregory Smith i was also 7 when i got this very nice child game, now im 25....i miss those times and i would do everything to get this time back
Gregory Smith It's still HARD for you
its was very nice, though it was kinda saddend , im sure u all feel me
diddy kong racing was my favourite, that was pure positive...will always keep that in my mind and my heart, the days we had no problems and circumstances, no one can take that away and im thankful for it, God bless yall
Nintendo 64 was amazing!
it's still xD
RIP Black yoshi, 33:18, Red yoshi, 34:55, Yellow yoshi, 37:54, Dark blue Yoshi, 41:07, Light blue yoshi, 45:46 and dildo. 49:30

You forgot Green Yoshi 21:38
Dark blue yoshi had the worst death
Pink Yoshi was the last hope, it had been fine White Yoshi unlocked

Juci Shockwave It’s “EEEEE AYYYY OHHHH.”
This comment made my day XD
Juci Shockwave 3 years later and this comment has made my day 😂thank you
I was always torn between "The asshole," "the apple," and "Seattle."
LOL
As good or bad as this game was, i dunno if im the only one who thought this game was creepy and even depressing to a point .__. it used to scare me sometimes
***** The cotton candy boss used to scare me a lot.

I understand the creepy part, but disturbing?...........Oh you mean the end credits song! Yeah, a happy, but sad song all together.
Nostalgia just punched me in the face.
The ending song always made me cry when I was a kid 😂
*BRUH! SAAAAAME!*
Sameeeee
anyone else scared of some of the stuff in this game at 4 years old?
yez mo yea haha

OMG, I just found one of my earliest childhood games ever!!!,wow I remember I used to be scared of the death screen when u were taken to the castle, I used to always pull out the cardaige, and I never got to save my game
Bubby_25 HAHAHAH you just reminded me too I used to do it HAHAHHA
When I was a child and played this game, I was saddened by the ending song. Today that I Hear again this song, my memory flyed away to that happy past. Thanks for this video!
damn , how old r u now brother?
I *ALWAYS* cried whenever a chapter ended. But now, only the finale made me cry.
Please make a remake of this game! I would play this rather than yoshis new island!
Agreed!
If it's done by the same people it will turn out the same as Yoshi's New Island.
As long as you keep giving them money they think it's okay to make crappy remakes! Vote with your wallet as that's all these financial adviser type people see is short term gains.

You do realize you can actually Jump over the Elephants stop sign when he's knocked down, right?
I was about to say the same thing lol
this guy stressed me out. he missed half the fruit. didn't jump over the elephant guy. didn't get all his coins. smh
Ugh!
This game is a N64 Classic.
No, OOT is
This game was an N64 disappointment.
Adam Sage Opinions, opinions everywhere.
Ikr It is Epic
MarioFan7464 well, it does have a 65 average on meta critic.
I miss all these old games it ain't the same anymore today
thank gods emulators exist, we can play them for free.
The most cutest thing about Yoshi I love is the sound he makes when he does the double jump and the sound he makes when he’s falling from a high location. Adorable
54:36
Nobody has commented on the username he decided to record his Yoshi Story run on?
I played this game as a kid. My four-year-old daughter and I just finished watching this video. Thank God her reading skills aren't too sharp.
sorry about that man....
It's all good. She saw that it started with a D and asked, "What's his name?"
I was like, "Uhhhhh...Dillon." HAHA
I'm glad you got to share that with your daughter man, thats really good stuff right there.
OMG XD
Be still my heart. Used go play this game with my mom all the time growing up. When all the yoshi’s sing at the end of a chapter it just makes me smile and brings back so many memories. This will always hold a special place in my heart ❤️
Yoshi's Story was my first Yoshi game I ever played as a kid and I still love it to this day.
I love the Baby Yoshis from the game. I wish i could have one as a pet
these days were so simple i rmember playing this game with my mom when i was 5 and it was so freaking fun i wish our n64 still worked
lily p you can download a n64 emulator and download a yoshi story ROM on mobile or PC and your set
I watched this entire video. This is the cutest game ever. To see you typed in "dildo" as your high score name completely shocked me, I died laughing.
I miss This game.
If I ever have a kid this will be his or her first video game
Good choice.
I remember beating this game back in the day and the final level was just insane.
I'm 31 now and I just got this end song for a ringtone on my phone😂😂I loved this game miss it loads seems so long ago😭
Gareth McLovin just download a emulator and a rom
You literally beat Cloud n' Candy in five seconds...
You should see the speedrun Quick Kill ;)

I just came here to cry.
Me too.
So weird watching this after not playing or seeing the game for like 14 years. Its like I'm watching a section of my childhood and its kinda sad but happy at the same time.
God I hated those fish at 21:00 so much when I was a kid... They freaked me out for some reason. Still a fun game tho!
ikr and the jungle music stressed me for some reasond.
You weren't the only one, I think the fact that they were an instant death is what made it worse.
me too
Me too
Just imagine having the book of this story and read it to your kids and then some years later they find out there is actually a game, that would be so amazing for them
this game was low key traumatic, but it's always going to be my favorite N64 game besides super mario. i started playing this when i was about 8 years old, (im 16 now) and then some random day i guess me and my younger brother lost our controllers and stopped playing. we recently just got a controller and started playing again, and it's the most nostalgic thing i've ever done.

Looking forward to the future!there will be more good thing await for you! I do hope you will be happier than you past like yoshi :)
playing this game as a kid was so fun I'd play for hours
I sometimes feel like shedding a tear whenever I see an old game I played as a child.
Why do people hate on this game? Sure, it’s easy and short, but it’s charming, cute, and it’s one of my favorite games on the N64. It’s not as good as Yoshi’s Island but it’s pretty good
Wii u needs to add this
hopefully it won't be as messed up as yoshi's new island
Yoshi islands for the DSI. Is way better
agreed, it was one of my best yoshi island games, next is the original one
Actually a new game of yoshi came in 2015...
Yeah. Can't wait until. The new Zelda game. And animal crossing needs to be on the Wii also

the light blue was my favourite.
Back in the days when game devs had to make good games because there was no options like post release update or sell expansion packs or DLC's... when did this shit start anyhow?
I miss those days :( now you get half of a broken, unfinished game that will be patched and with the rest available as DLC.
Ah. Toast, you understand me every time. Thank you.
Looking at you Asura's Wrath...
I was freaked out by how Yoshi dies and the castle scene and shit lmao
Watching this, I now know that It was definitely the the cut scene when you died that was unsettling... and the music/yoshi noises.... good lord. O_o
the ending always made me so happy ;u;
the song was so beautiful, and even to this day it makes me smile ^^
I had an acid trip about this once. Scared the shit out of me.
King_Etokura 1. What's an acid trip? 2. Blue Yoshi's having one, right?
anyone still have this game? when i was 4 my mom somehow managed to get all the colors of yoshi
I still have mine haha.
Me too and I'm 31!
Just emulate it, a tablet can run the game.
+Adam Sage no, n64 on touch screen is unplayable for most games because of the button layout and limited access to z, r,l. pc is the answer with a real controller.

I felt like there were more levels
There are way more. This is just the first set of levels. There should be 4 per chapter if I recall. And there is white yoshi.
Hoeru I loved the White Yoshi because she had the highest, sweetest voice. You could also get a little White shy guy to follow you around and keep to use and revive one of your Yoshis.
Hoeru for example the beestock is missing.. or the slime level
Hoeru super late comment but whatever. When I was 7 and got the white yoshi I used every level and when the yoshi died I reset my N64
Holli Pyle whaaat is this true
Oh the thing that wouldn't let me pass the first level, the skeleton dragon in the 2nd level, the green dragon in level 3, the piranha plant world with the piranha plants background, etc , oh the feels, oh the nostalgia and childhood give it back please!
At the end of each level, I thought the Yoshi's were singing "The apple, the apple, the apple, the apple."
21:37 first death
33:15 second death
34:56 third death
37:55 fourth death
41:07 fifth death
45:47 sixth death
21:05 Seeing that big fish coming always got me in panic
There were some points when I was semi freaked out by this game as a child, yet there was something about it that was enticing. A love hate relationship really.
One of the best game I've ever played in my all life ... Omg a lot of memories :)
I feel nostalgic x)
Omg I miss this game so much! I used to play it as a kid and I don’t know what happened to our 64 or this game. I want to find them again so bad. This made my heart happy to see this.
I played this game for the first time when I borrowed it from a friend as a kid. It holds a special place in my heart because it was the first Mario game I ever beat. Paper Mario was my second. ☺️
Yoshi is adorable & Kirby. My favorite game when I was younger, still is lol! I still have my Nintendo 64.
Yoshi's Woolly World should've been a sequel to this game.
yeah kind of like how mario kart 8 was
Pink Yoshi is best Yoshi
07601923 Pink Yoshi was sweet. But you can get a White Yoshi and her voice is even higher and sweeter. The White Yoshi is my favorite. ❤️
Original yoshi is my favorite
Bone dragons were originally going to live and have purple skin. Notice how they make bowser sounds from sm64 (I think)
The song of the final chapter and the final chapter in particular was always scary for me
pfft only a casual would eat anything but melons
Martin Glavinovic True.
Whew! That was a close finish; for a second or two, I thought you were going to lose on that last level.
The Black Yoshi seems to have an heavy vocal change.
I remember renting this game from BlockBusters. So much fun!
You made me tear up after 20 years seems a play it in my nintendo....thank you for making me feel like a 8 years old again.
It feels like so long ago....
This was like the only 2d n64 game
If I could bring back some of our technology to 1998 I'm pretty sure my friends at school would be completely blown away!
i can cry right now :((((
Interestingly Yoshi's Story is the only N64 game from Nintendo I know of where the game actually looks like what's in the boxart... And it's a sprite game with sprites handled just like DKC.
Every time he makes that noise @12:03 i think it’s so cute 😂
thank you! when I was a child, this game, commander Keen and Cosmo were my fav plays!!!!
I remember playing this when I was like, 6
:'(
good times man, good times.
The black (bee) yoshi is R.I.P.🙀😵💫🔚🤧 the yoshi (flower) have the egg black.🥚🐣🐝😿

in like 2004 or 5 my grandma has one of these and I used to play this all the time. the memories make me smile
Still remember my dad picking me up from pre-school and showing me this game that he bought for me. Its been nearly 18 years since then.
Great game in its day. Its a shame that Yoshi didn't say more than just his name. But in a happy game like this, that doesn't matter :).
In a way Yoshi is like Hodor. Cute and dependable. Before Hodor there was YOSHI! YOSHI!
Got to agree there buddy. Whilst Yoshi is generally one of the good guys. He can certainly hold his own and that Yoshi mod that I have for GTA San Andreas. He is still a leathal charactar that likes to pop open a can of whoop ass all over his enemies ;).
a forgotten beautiful piece of my childhood has been unlocked, thank you
My first Yoshi game aw the memories.N64 was the best console around who needs PlayStation.
The final level demonstrates how brutal the game’s difficulty really is. Everyone and every challenge only gives you ONE chance and once you fail, you cannot retry PERMANENTLY.
This game was the shit back in the day
favorite childhood game
i loved that bendable water physics, it always impressed me as a kid.
Thanks for the multiple heart attacks.
This game' theme sounds like Pikmin singing. Nintendo must have re used those noises for Pikmin, they're so similar
renting this game from blockbuster with all the levels unlocked was an amazing feeling
The grey castle use to scare me. I used to love the sounds and music they have for this one, almost a tear dropper.
Pink Yoshi for the save man Baby Bowser brings it snd puts on a hell of a fight! Love it! The music gets very intense too
Your inexperience playing this made it so much funan
This game gave me a feeling of melancholy back in the day. It was cheery and cute but at the same time kind of dark and twisted. Hard to explain.
Brings alot of memories in my childhood it makes me want to cry😢
Ill never forget this game. When it came out, it was what made me realize im too old for nintendo
The black and white yoshis can eat anything.
I loved this game as a kid. I rented it so many times. I'm 27 now and I searched for reviews, turns out it wasn't very well received.
Don't really care though, I think it's awesome.
I am crying because of the outro, This was my childhood..
Yoshi's Story and Diddy Kong Racing were my favorite 2 games on N64 growing up. We also had an Asian console what we called Atari, but it wasn't really Atari.. but it had Super Mario and so many awesome games but I can't remember what they're called
Famicom?
