I did one of these a few times in my camp during childhood. Pretty sure the smacks I did on the water changed me forever somehow.

I've tried it but with a bigger one, it's fun and scary at the same time.
The scariest part is you can't control yourself while falling, it's like skydiving but no parachute.

I’ve done it every year since 3rd grade (I’m in 8th) and it’s so awesome. It’s a camp called camp longhorn in Texas and it was actually invented by them. They used to store oil in those in WW 2 and after the war the camp which was then a “frogmen training facility” turned into a summer camp and painted the oil containers to make them what we now know of as blobs.
