Bless you for what you're doing for her. New subscriber.. After caring for my mum (oldest of 9) and her 93yo husband for 8yrs here in FL, w/ no help from 3 half siblings. The day after he died, half sister swooped in. Tried 4x to have me arrested, didn't work. My mum had just come out of Hospital Rehab, and no one knew he had been sick. She was sent home w/ UTI Dementia & no set In Home Health Care (against the Law). She wasn't in her right mind. Day after taking her to IN, left alone and broke leg again. Dumped into Nursing Home. It's been 2yrs! I'm sacrificing all that I have. Selling out and vacating by mid-Nov to rescue her. She's being abused. Just turned 89, unable to walk over 2.5yrs due to not getting proper Therapy. Even tho I have Stage 4 Cancer, I know God's got this! I'll take any and all Prayers. I was saved in Rev Jimmy Snow's Baptist Church just outside of Nashville (County Singer Hank Snow's son), 1982. Even sang on Grand Ol' Opery Stage as a 17yo. I sure miss those types of Old School Churches. Amen & God's Blessings
I love hearing your stories I love history your biscuits look great I just learned how to make biscuits it took me a while to get it where they were edible but trial and error paid off. I've not made them the way you have but I'm going to try your recipe next time. Thank you
My parents were both born and raised in WV until dad joined the service. I was born into the military life. When dad retired he announced at the supper table we were moving back to where we were from, WV. I imagined Tom Sawyer type of people and dad said it was so far in the wilderness that you had to swing on grape vines in some places. (He was teasing us). I met my family and the hills and coal mines became home. I was an up and coming junior in high school and the locals didn't take much to me. They were born and raised there. But my family that had stayed there were just like you. And I love you! Thank you for my good memories.
I love watching. There’s nothing like an old timers cooking!
Thank you
