  • What helps us see things? Your answer might be eyes which is partially correct. But why can’t we see things in the dark? Well, this is because there is no “LIGHT”. Light and the reflection of light plays a major role in letting us see things. Reflection is when light bounces off an object.
But why do we see our reflection only on some surfaces and not others? This is because light can reflect and bounce, but only on smooth surfaces. This is called specular or regular reflection. In regular reflection, the rays of light bounce back in the same direction hence an image is formed. The other type is a diffuse reflection. When light hits any rough surface, the reflected light rays scatter in all directions and no image is formed.
Did you know we can even measure light? Yes with help of light meter/ lux meter. Let’s learn more about light along with SRK and Bennie.
