You missed the best part of sailing on HAL, the staff! They are genuine, caring, and so hard working. I've been on 3 different HAL ships, and had in-depth conversations with many, from stewards to servers and officers. They all say the same thing, they feel like one big HAL family. They are treated with respect and dignity and that shows in how they treat the passenger.

Could not agree more. Stay tuned for another segment where we delve into why HAL fans are so loyal. Our advisers make mention of just what you said.

We’re sailing on HAL on Oct.1.this year. Never been on that line. We usual sail on Oceania or Viking. We’re going Athens round trip, so a lot of islands and supposed to spend some time in Israel. Do you think the weather will be?

Weather should be nice low to mid seventies.

I am very loyal to HAL and Viking. Tried Oceania last Christmas and will never go with them again. Smallest cabin and bathroom I’ve ever seen. Paid extra for a Veranda suite. Got nothing extra for the “suite” part. Just two laundries free. On HAL got a Neptune suite and was still less than Oceania veranda suite. What a difference. Only thing I thought was a bit better was the food. Anyway hope you enjoy.

I got on this ship in Barcelona, we were only able to stop a one port, the balance of our port stops were cancelled. then transatlantic for 14, days, I found the cruise very boring, the shows were not very good and they did the same show for 4 nights in a row. The game room was closed and locked, there was sign on all of them that said out of order. Our balcony room had a leak outside our door for 6 days, the water was dripping on us every time we entered or left our room. I will never use this cruise line again.

So sorry to hear you had a poor experience. We just completed a interview today which is due to publish next Thursday. We discussed just this topic some of the premium cruise lines are not what they used to be and what the alternatives may be for folks looking for the old school cruise experience and service. Stay tuned for our review of Oceania Cruises new ship the Vista
