I like how the fusions are different, yet the same. Vegito comes off as more of a playful prick, but even during Buu Saga, he always had his eye on the goal, and had a plan. Gogeta absolutely was playing for keeps. He didn't fuck around and wait to bring out Blue when it was needed, he hits Broly with power move after power move, he talks little, and absolutely went for the kill move, yet at the same time he's having a blast enjoying himself. Two sides of the same coin
Actually he smiled after throwing that rainbow ball(Stardust breaker) because that attack destroyes anything completely if it is evil(like janemba) it didn't kill broly because broly is not evil he is just confused and can't control his powers, gogeta smiled because he found out that broly is not evil.
I think it be cool in a future arc when someone I guess black Frieza pushes broly into berserk mode but he becomes the manic that laughs at how he's going to rampage like the og broly

Each failed fusion took 1 hour of time while Broly was fighting Frieza, so Frieza got beat for 2 hours before Gogeta actually showed up to fight Broly.

Every major fight in DBZ/S should get this level of quality treatment. An hour and a half of pure action and fighting with out the 20 episode long conversation between two characters about how powerful they are and them explaining their motivations and plans to the audience

Got basically disintegrated and lost in space after blowing up Namek, they still were able to patch him up and he came back stronger than ever like, immediately. plus he was still able to help hold off Jiren in his base form despite being absolutely bodied harder than anybody. dude is Cell-level of tough to kill permanently.

I feel bad for Broly. Granted, haven't seen much of him or of Dragon Ball in general so my opinion is underinformed but he seems like a genuinely nice person whose upbringing has fucked him up. He would benefit from therapy, probably anger management, and definitely a supportive community. He seems like someone I would hang out with.
That is honestly extremely accurate a description of this incarnation of Broly. Dude lacks the Saiyan's typical bloodlust/appetite for battle but his Dad's an asshole who groomed him to basically be an attack dog. To spoil the epilogue, Goku goes to see him much later after the fight and he's pretty receptive to the idea of training or hanging out.

With Gogeta you can really tell he savors every minute of it. Makes sense too, when you only ever exist for about half an hour at a time and your fusion partners (at least Vegeta) are unwilling to do this more often, you just gotta make the most of every moment.
Anyone gonna talk about how just insanely durable Broly is here? Like... takes multiple system-ending hits and keeps getting back up. Definitely a perfect contender for Legendary Super Saiyan.
This is going to go down as one of the greatest fights in anime history. They aren't gods, they're titans. Battling to the death. The legendary super saiyan vs the overpowered gogeta. We've been waiting for this fight for centuries
Its the fact that we can tell Vegeta became dominat after the blue transformation. He wasnt gonna give broly a change to adapt. His strikes were helly calculated
Y'know, there's a little detail I love here, at 8:58: The instant he saw Shenron being summoned, Gogeta stopped fighting to win. From that point on, he was fighting to scare the sanity back into Broly, and to cover Cheelai and what's-his-name. Honestly, he could've ended the fight a lot earlier, if he wanted to; it's clear that the power difference between SSB Gogeta and _anything_ Broly could do was basically the difference between night & day. But instead, he _brutalised_ Broly, in a way that probably hurt like hell yet didn't leave even a hint of lasting damage. He slowly pulled back the veil and revealed just how big the gap between them was, to the point that he outright drove the rage out of the berserker and replaced it with fear. And by doing so, he returned Broly to lucidity, right in time for the teleport. That last Kamehameha was never intended to hit its target, it was meant to get him in his right mind like Kale. And the best part is, by making the fight as destructive as he did, he prevented Frieza from reaching the dragon balls; the entire area was too hectic, and the power level of the blasts being thrown around meant that a stray shot likely would've either killed or maimed Frieza, a risk the tyrant wasn't willing to take. Just shows to go how _intelligent_ a character with Vegeta's analytical skills and Goku's battle genius would be.
I love how Soul Punisher, literally Goegta's final coupe de grace, did not kill this version of Broly. The best detail of this whole movie to me. Broly wasn't evil. He was just a scared and confused boy who was taken advantage of. To him, he was being noble and fighting for what was right in his mind. He had no ill will, just wanted to protect his people. And Soul Punisher literally eliminates the soul of evil beings. I thought that was a nice subtle thing they included to fully fledge out that this Broly was truly different. Not just soms strong evil meathead who was mad at Goku for crying. Super had a lot of downs, but it also had a lot of great moments and drtaios. This is one of the best.
As an old classic DBZ fans, the fighting sequence and animation is definitely more cool than the DBZ era. In term of story and character progression i prefer DBZ.

I feel bad for Broly. Granted, haven't seen much of him or of Dragon Ball in general so my opinion is underinformed but he seems like a genuinely nice person whose upbringing has fucked him up. He would benefit from therapy, probably anger management, and definitely a supportive community. He seems like someone I would hang out with.
That is honestly extremely accurate a description of this incarnation of Broly. Dude lacks the Saiyan's typical bloodlust/appetite for battle but his Dad's an asshole who groomed him to basically be an attack dog. To spoil the epilogue, Goku goes to see him much later after the fight and he's pretty receptive to the idea of training or hanging out.
@@papershadownah his father raised him the best he could. First off, the guy is a sayian, which is a warrior race of beings. All they know is fight. Secondly, they were forced to live on a planet that required them to be tough after frieza destroyed planet vegeta. Thirdly, broly is extremely power even for a sayian, and has trouble controlling his temper. His pops did all he could to raise someone like that.
@StayinTrue1500 Yes and no. Brolys father trained him to survive AND to fight because he wanted him to be a weapon against King Vegeta. Once he found out the planet was destroyed, he switched gears. After he seen Prince Vegeta alive, he switched gears again to getting his revenge on Vegeta. All brolys father ever cared about was revenge.

Y'know, there's a little detail I love here, at 8:58: The instant he saw Shenron being summoned, Gogeta stopped fighting to win. From that point on, he was fighting to scare the sanity back into Broly, and to cover Cheelai and what's-his-name. Honestly, he could've ended the fight a lot earlier, if he wanted to; it's clear that the power difference between SSB Gogeta and _anything_ Broly could do was basically the difference between night & day. But instead, he _brutalised_ Broly, in a way that probably hurt like hell yet didn't leave even a hint of lasting damage. He slowly pulled back the veil and revealed just how big the gap between them was, to the point that he outright drove the rage out of the berserker and replaced it with fear. And by doing so, he returned Broly to lucidity, right in time for the teleport. That last Kamehameha was never intended to hit its target, it was meant to get him in his right mind like Kale. And the best part is, by making the fight as destructive as he did, he prevented Frieza from reaching the dragon balls; the entire area was too hectic, and the power level of the blasts being thrown around meant that a stray shot likely would've either killed or maimed Frieza, a risk the tyrant wasn't willing to take. Just shows to go how _intelligent_ a character with Vegeta's analytical skills and Goku's battle genius would be.

I saw this in theaters and I can say this without any doubt: this is the best anime fight scene ever.
Only thing that could have made this fight better is if it ended with a final Kamehameha.
I love how Soul Punisher, literally Goegta's final coupe de grace, did not kill this version of Broly. The best detail of this whole movie to me. Broly wasn't evil. He was just a scared and confused boy who was taken advantage of. To him, he was being noble and fighting for what was right in his mind. He had no ill will, just wanted to protect his people. And Soul Punisher literally eliminates the soul of evil beings. I thought that was a nice subtle thing they included to fully fledge out that this Broly was truly different. Not just soms strong evil meathead who was mad at Goku for crying. Super had a lot of downs, but it also had a lot of great moments and drtaios. This is one of the best.
As an old classic DBZ fans, the fighting sequence and animation is definitely more cool than the DBZ era. In term of story and character progression i prefer DBZ.
This scene gives me goosebumps and emotional I don't know why. But I love DBZ , RIP Akira Toriyama
