Cold take: DBZ Kai is a superior viewing experience in almost every way, save for the occasional redrawn cels that look jarring. I could care less for Bruce Faulconer’s loud, edgy, Americanized score that never shuts up.
@@sagekevo3285 Kai had the voice actors return to read a script more faithful to the manga, cut out a lot of filler material that wasn’t originally in the manga, and brings back the original Japanese score. There was some recolor-ing and redrawn animation cels that might’ve been unnecessary, but otherwise DBZ Kai is a more faithful and, in my opinion, superior adaptation of the DBZ source material. Many fans disliked the replacement of gohan’s original voice actor and dropping the American score by Bruce Faulconer, but I would say watch both Kai and Z to inform your own opinion.
