      I have a request ken, can you make a video on test driven development in Data Science or maybe the normal testing?

    What I recommend to people is to go up to local businesses around you and become an "unpaid intern" of sorts developing projects for them. You set your own schedule and etc (just as you would with a personal project). At the end of the experience you get to say you worked with someone (so you get work experience+ LinkedIn optimization). It also exposes you to a ton of perpectives in the real world and the projects can be fitted to yout needs.

    • @shraddhashrivastava2480
      @shraddhashrivastava2480 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I Applied many unpaid internships but no response. How I get?

    • @ChocolateMilkCultLeader
      @ChocolateMilkCultLeader 2 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      @@shraddhashrivastava2480 here you're inventing your job not being an unpaid intern for someone else. For example you go to a corner grocery store and tell them you'll do data analysis for them. Tell them how this can only help them (it's free so there's no risk to them). Test different policies and see if you can have an impact.

      Worth a try, but be prepared to explain how you would protect the privacy of their data. I can't imagine many organizations would just hand over their data without serious concerns: in the US, HIPAA, FERPA, etc.

    • @ChocolateMilkCultLeader
      @ChocolateMilkCultLeader 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@k311ydcart3r Great point. These are specifically regarding corner stores and local businesses who are less likely to worry about this. Please look at my comment to someone else on this thread. However, learning to protect privacy through anonymization is a great learning

    Solid advice. Especially investing in open source software. You can learn top tier software dev skills, gain excellent connections and add some big name contributions to your experience. The few times I've seen "contributor to PyTorch/scikit-learn/pandas" on a resume, I've been quick to insist on an interview.

    Hey ken I love your videos
    What is the advice you will give to someone with a non tech background like bSc accounting
    Like after completing data science online course is there need for a masters in data science or masters in computer science to make my scope broader

    • @KenJee_ds
      @KenJee_ds  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I don't think a masters is completely necessary. It is very possible to build the skills & projects and land a data analyst job without an advanced degree. In my opinion it is a better idea to gain experience and get paid as an analyst for a few years and then transition to a data scientist role
